Been here many times. Great open square that overlooks the sea. It is shared with another pub/restaurant which gives two choices of menu. The kitchen works very hard to get good food out as fast as they can. Today was very busy and they still served us within 40 mins - the staff told me before they took the order, so no dramas! Had a long beer watching the world go by whilst waiting. Also gazed at all the other food choices as each table was served - they all look great. Ours was the standard seaside fare of fish and chips. Fat and juicy fish, triple cooked chunky chips and loads of oetis pois; and the King's Head burger - a great portion fries, good quality bap and very large burger (other half struggled 🤣). Good service by the team. We will return.

We discovered this little gem in Deal to celebrate our anniversary. The outside of the pub is beautiful with colourful flowers and it’s really inviting. We were greeted by a lovely young guy who helped us to check in and even offered to take our bags for us as we would be staying in room 7 at the top of the hotel. We had a lovely spacious room with en suite. It has a spectacular view of the pier. I’ve only given it a 4 (please bear in mind we loved our room these are just tips to make the room a 5). One of the lamps in our room wasn’t working, which we reported to one of the staff at the bar, but what would be so helpful would be a couple of USB sockets in the room. We forgot our chargers so weren’t able to charge our phones (obviously our fault entirely) but maybe something to think about for future guests. The breakfast was lovely, fresh and hot. All of the staff were amazing, it’s been a long time since I’ve been to somewhere where everyone was simply kind, friendly and helpful, they are a credit to you. Thank you for making our stay a really enjoyable one. We’ll definitely be back and we’ll definitely recommend you to anyone who asks.

There is nothing about this bar/hotel that doesn’t warrant five stars. The food, the location, the service and the atmosphere was all on point. Can’t wait to visit again. Special shout out to Aaron and Izzy, those two don’t stop!

Lovely pub, very busy, good ale. Visited twice, whilst on a break. Major busy as football was being shown. Had an amazing Sunday roast, one of the best I've ever had. Roast beef, as everything else was sold out, but that's to be expected as it was gone five. You can't tip by card as the don't accept tips by card, only cash. Staff were bright, fun and engaging. You must visit this cafe. When I saw reviews saying 'best breakfast ever' I was sure it was an exaggeration. It wasn't. Friendly service, a menu full of very tasty options, my whole table was very impressed with the taste, presentation and portion size of their brunch.

Staying in the area for the weekend and after seeing the reviews and recommendations from friends of friends, we opted for Pier Kitchen for a late lunch. They also allow dogs in, so it was a no brainer. Let me say, we were not disappointed in the locations, the staff, who were superb and the food. We highly recommend the lobster & Crab roll.

Great little place. Had low expectations of an “end-of-pier cafe” but this is excellent. Had the Lobster and Crayfish Benedict which was delicious. Good coffee and great service in this modern cafe with wonderful sea views. Dogs welcome and good for families too.

My recent visit to Deal Street Kitchen was nothing short of splendid. Nestled in a charming location, the restaurant boasts not only fabulous views but also an inviting atmosphere. The staff were absolutely delightful—attentive, warm, and professional, ensuring that every aspect of our dining experience was catered to with grace and ease. The food, of course, was exquisite—each dish brimming with flavour and thoughtfully curated. My only minor quibble was that, for the price, I had expected a touch more finesse in the presentation of my dish. That said, it in no way detracted from the overall enjoyment of the meal. I am already eagerly anticipating my next visit. Without a doubt, Deal Street Kitchen is a wonderful dining spot that I highly recommend!

On Monday and Tuesday this week i had extensive electrical work carried out at my home. Wyman Electrical sent Olly and Lenny to do the work and i can not praise them highly enough. They were exceedingly polite, respectful, professional and kept us informed every step of the way. Jim from Wymans also attended to oversee the work and we were happy to have him visit. I would highly recommend this company and its employees. Superb job and a pleasure to have such pleasant people in our home to carry out the work.

Matt and his brother Chris are absolutely first class. They completely rewired my 3 bed terrace house as part of a larger renovation including a complete satellite/freeview/DAB distribution system USB charging sockets and network points all over the house. He also completed the installation of the boiler (CH and HW) controls (which connects to a phone app). His quote was competitive however his USP is his willingness to solve problems with clever bits of kit and level of expertise on all things electrical. Delighted with my job. Can't recommend enough.

Had a condensation issue in my kitchen and bathroom. Had MBM Electrical come around and give recommendations as to how to proceed. A recommendation of extractor fans was put forward. Had 2 extractor fans installed by MBM plus 2 external wall lights on the outside. Lights looks pretty stylish and condensation is now a thing in the past. Very reliable and professional company. Highly recommended.

Brilliant restaurant right next to the kids playpark at Betteshanger. The menu is great and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Breakfast and lunch menus available and a good selection of drinks at the bar. Places to sit both inside and out when the weather is good. Really great place to have a drink or meal after exploring Betteshanger park.

So so impressed with this place. The menu is delicious. The coffee is strong but smooth. The music is relaxing and at a perfect volume to still chat. It's clean and the decor is modern, love the shade of blue on the walls. But the highlight is the staff. So efficient. Seated quickly, served quickly, table cleared quickly, but made to feel welcome the entire time. Food was delicious, we had the eggs benedict, sourdough toast with marmalade and coffees. We will definitely be back!!! Maya, Abby, Ollie & Mia are superstars 🌟

We had a very relaxed brunch at The Lamp Room at Betteshanger Country Park. I had the Eggs Benedict with a twist - spicy sweetcorn fritters, smashed avocado and chipotle; whilst my husband had sausage and scrambled eggs on sourdough. We were both tempted by the sweet options as well but were too full to have anymore. Plus you’ve got to love a pretty flat white and some cool decor. All finished off with a stroll round one of the routes of the park in the sunshine - perfect!

Popped in to The Bohemian with the Mrs on an overnight stay in Deal. Despite the covid restrictions (which were well observed), you could tell this was a good bar well worth a regular visit. If it was local to me I would be there often. Nice quirky decor, very good choice of alcohol. Treated myself to a Chimay blue (9%). Good atmosphere, and helpful bar staff.

Had a 3 course Christmas lunch on Monday 10th December. The food was amazing. I had mushrooms for starters, delicious! One friend had the broccoli and stilton soup, another, the prawn cocktail and another had brie wedges with cranberry. Everyone was extremely happy with the starters. I had pork, with all the trimmings, 2 friends had the turkey and another had the salmon, as their main. Again, the main courses were delicious. Roasts were served with mashed, as well as the roast potatoes! The desserts were lovely, although the base of the cheesecake was a little hard. Great food. Great service. Lovely ambience.

The Rose

91 High St, Deal CT14 6ED, UK | Hotel
P: 01304 389127

Rating: 4.3 (372) Price Level:

The Rose was very nice but agree with other commenters that there are a few things that could be changed fairly easily to improve it. Decor throughout is very lovely but could do with a bit of a deep clean. I think the rooms allow dogs but the pink carpet on the stairs was disgusting - so stained and you could see dog hairs everywhere, just needed deep cleaning. Same for the green bench chair in the dining room, lovely colour but so many stains that you suspect a wet clean could take care of. Our bedroom also had lots of dust in all the corners (near furniture, in the bathroom). The food was good (we only had breakfast) but the service let it down a bit. We rushed somewhat to make sure we got downstairs with time to spare before 10am, but it took over ten minutes to order our food, and the young man/boy (he looked very young!!) who took our orders seemed to be doing anything but take them (and same for the table next to us). Our room included breakfast but we were handed a menu with prices on, then asked doesn’t our room include breakfast (I think all of them do?). He had to go away and ask this, clarified it did include breakfast, then when we asked what it included (ie two courses) he had to check that again. I would have thought that would be part of the basic training! When we got drinks the day before there were four people in and out behind the bar but the whole process also seemed quite chaotic. We had to be in Deal anyway that night and I think it seems like the nicest place to stay there, but I think if you’re wanting to do a nice foodie weekend away there are better places in general.

The rose offers a great dining experience, with exceptional starters that steal the show—flavorful, creative, and beautifully presented. Tatare and smoke potatoes were the stars! The mains were solid and satisfying, though less remarkable. The warm atmosphere and friendly staff made the visit even better. Definitely worth a visit! Not sure if there is any parking for the hotel guests as i just visited for the food, there is plenty of street parking available around

The hotel and restaurant were great in many ways but they have some weaknesses that are easily addressed. -Rooms do not have air conditioning and become unbearably hot in the summer. -Curtains in room barely block any light, and windows are old, single-pane glass which does not block any sound: you can hear conversations going on at the road level. -Coffee served for breakfast is awful, whereas the rest of the food is great.

Beautiful hotel, very stylishly decorated and the staff are so so amazing and accommodating. The rooms themselves are all unique and quirky, with such comfy beds and lovely bathrooms. The hallways have little treats & drinks available, the breakfast is delicious (loved the granola, coffee & eggs.) We also had dinner one night in their restaurant which was fab. Deal itself has a great vibe, really laid back and loads of independent stores and everyone is lovely. Gorgeous walks along the beach too. Would come back in a heartbeat!

Booked a table for 2 last Monday, had a really lovely time. We’ve always loved coming in for drinks, finally decided to book a table one evening. Food was delicious as expected, for starters we had these crispy potatoes which were on the sides menu, along with olives, scallops and an oyster which i really wanted to try! Starters were really tasty, the flavours and combinations are brilliant! Our mains and desserts were also lovely. I like that the menu has pre dinner drinks and after dinner drinks recommendations. Service was lovely and as always will be coming back to the rose! Forgot to take pictures because the food is served so nicely and its all so tasty that you just forget to! But heres one picture of the dessert.
