Hotchkin course is spectacular! Played it 4 times now... Still exceptional

Oh my goodness. Worth every penny. Need to drive well , which I did. Welcoming club. Was never made to feel out of place. Excellent pro shop staff , with advice. The best merchandise shop I have ever seen. Thanks to Heide and Brian in booking as my trip was in jeopardy due to illness. Breakfast and bar staff Excellent. No snobbyness whatsoever. Can I go back please. Expensive but worth every penny. I played well so that helped.

Two incredible golf courses which may just be the best value for money in the UK. Practice facilities looked great but were too busy the day we visited so didn't get to use them. Shop was well stocked, friendly service and the starters on both courses set us on our way very well. Clubhouse is tired and in need of an overall. I always look forward to a beer over looking the course after we finish but was disappointed with the bar and outdoor seating in offer. Will be back for the golf, if nothing else.

Great place. Very well kept and manicured course. Challenging bunkers, in a great, natural setting. Nice club house, good food and a well stocked pro shop. All staffed by very pleasant and helpful people.
Rating: 4 / 5
The championship course is a great test of your golf as well as a challenging experience. Well worth adding to your bucket list. The clubhouse is a bit disappointed for the home of English golf though.

Easy booking system for the top tracer range. Well looked after range, tidy shop, and great to grab a coffee and a breakfast from the oaks cafe/restaurant attached to the shop. Or even grab a cold pint of estrella. Happy days. Highly recommend
Rating: 4 / 5
Good driving range and very helpful staff in the shop, especially Sam. I don’t believe the Toptracer range should be at extra cost, I haven’t been to any other range that charges for the technology. Also the balls are old and knackered. They seem to have taken hand me downs from Trafford Golf Centre. Just buy new.

I have recently gotten into golf and the Lincoln Golf Centre has welcomed a newbie to the sport amazingly. The American Golf store staff are fantastic and informative. The facilities are incredible. The Oakes Cafe serves fabulous food at reasonable prices. I have spent my entire birthday there today, it’s genuinely been very special. Paul Logan is a genius and sensational coach. I highly recommend anyone who is getting into golf to see him. The advice and guidance provided today is priceless. After a few minutes, I improved my yardage by 30 yards and I only tweaked a couple of things. For anyone wondering about diving into golf. Do it, grab a second-hand set of clubs and get yourself to Lincoln Golf Centre. Thank you for a wonderful day, George (TheRevG)

Lincoln Golf Centre has truly raised the game! The driving range, equipped with Toptracer technology, takes practice to the next level. From tracking ball speed to virtual courses, it’s not just a range session; it’s an experience that adds a whole new level of fun and challenge. The shop is a golfer’s dream—stocked with everything you could possibly need, from top-tier clubs to accessories. It’s great to see a place so dedicated to keeping golfers well-equipped and ready to play their best. And the course? Absolutely pristine. The fairways are lush, the greens roll true, and you can tell a lot of care goes into keeping it in tiptop condition. Lincoln Golf Centre is the perfect blend of high-quality facilities and a welcoming atmosphere—a real gem for golfers of any level.

Played in the Open here on 4th September 24. I enjoyed the day. A warm welcome, great game of golf and delicious food. A special shout out to the ladies who found the time to provide the home baked treats and two very smart waiters at the halfway house . Lovely! Bev@Carholme

Wonderful course with many challenges. Club house is very modern with a variety of drinks and meals. Very friendly and accommodating to all ages. Course was in immaculate condition and a credit to the Green keepers. One of the nicest clubs I’ve played at. Will definitely be looking to play again soon.

Beautiful 18 hole course, staff really friendly, would highly recommend a visit to see for yourself 5*

Been a member here now for 5 years. This is the most friendly club I have ever played at. The course is excellent and a good challenge. I have not played many courses that have better greens. The restaurant has a great chef in Janet and she is supported brilliantly by the catering and bar staff. We also have a great memorial to the crew of a WW2 Halifax Bomber that crashed locally. Worth a visit? Definitely.

Lovely flat course, quite narrow in places. Beautifully kept. Didn't rate the food on offer.
Rating: 5 / 5
Excellent 9 hole course. Very friendly club and good home-cooked food. The par 4 holes are relatively short, but all have their interesting features. Out-of-bounds is a factor on 6 of the 9 holes so you need to hit the ball pretty straight.
Rating: 5 / 5
Had an awesome day at Kirton Holme golf club on Saturday at the invitational, played in great company; the members are so friendly and welcoming. The course is maintained to a very high standard, and Kelly and her staff are so friendly and provide fantastic food and great atmosphere. Will be back very soon

This is a very friendly family run 9 hole course which is beautifully maintained. There are thriving ladies, seniors and men's sections. The catering facilities are excellent with lovely homemade cakes and sausage rolls available as well as breakfasts, filled rolls and sandwiches. There is also a well stocked pro shop catering for men and women.

We have been coming here for the last 9 years. This year (2022) in June will be our 10th Year. We cut our Golfing teeth on these courses and enjoy coming back every year. The value for money is incredible and if you want a quiet, no frills, no snobbery golf weekend away with friends this place is a pure hidden Gem! The owners are friendly and helpful. Places like this just don't exist anymore. The Grenville course is a great place to learn with its open fairways. The Main course is a challenge with a slope index of 143! The greens run true and there are some really interesting holes you will just never see on a modern course. This is the only course I've played where you have to T off over bushes and trees and lay up in front of a green surrounded by a hedge!! You will not find better value Golf in the UK. It's not Augusta but then again Augusta isn't Millfield!!
Rating: 5 / 5
Well impressed with this course. Played on Sunday and £10 for 18 holes was the cheapest I have ever paid! The greens were a little rough but the course was a great design with even some par 5 holes. Everyone I met on the course were lovely and was clearly signposted where the next hole is (a pet hate of mine on some courses when you have never played!) Also, unrelated but got my first ever birdie on the 17th hole. Got this close (photo) from 150 yards ❤️

Just spent a couple of days at Millfield and stayed in one of the chalets. Exceptionally clean accommodation and had everything we needed for the night. The course itself is good and you really can’t grumble at the price. Staff are friendly and there’s no airs and graces. Will return. Thanks

This is not the best value golf course in Lincolnshire, it's probably the best value in England, forgot stereotypical golf course snobbery what you see here is what you get, down to earth, friendly people who have made golf accessible and more importantly affordable to all, Well done all at millfield golf complex

First time there. The moment I turned into the car park and saw the clubhouse and green I knew it was going to be a great place.
Rating: 5 / 5
I have found Sleaford golf club the one of the friendliest and most inviting golf clubs in Lincolnshire! Being from the South of England I have struggled to make connections in my new town but after playing a match against Sleaford for my current club I have been invited on numerous occasions by this year captain, Paul, to play and get to know the members. The course is a fantastic layout and I have enjoyed it every time I’ve played it - plus you can see it’s constantly improving. I will be joining at the end of the year, as an overall experience this has been more inviting and is what I was looking for when we moved to the area. Great people and a great course!

Lovely place and very friendly members. Course is tough but fair. Played in 50kph winds in the morning. My ham eggs and chips was very good.
Rating: 5 / 5
Stunning golf club. Beautiful setting in the Lincolnshire countryside. The club house is warm and friendly. All the staff that I met were very welcoming. The course is very mature and challenging in places. Green fees are well priced. I look forward to visiting this club again.

Played at Sleaford golf club for the first time today, certainly won't be the last. The greens are amazing, so true and roll perfectly, you feel like you can hole them from all distances. Easily as good as the likes of hollinwell and coxmoor in Nottinghamshire, or horsley lodge and Breadsall priory in Derbyshire etc. The fairways are generous but stray off them and the aestheticly pleasing whispy rough hurts, as it should. Royal st george's style! Throughly enjoyed the golf course. The members we spoke to were welcoming and helpful. Lovely surroundings too, enjoying a drink outside the clubhouse and watching players hit onto the lovely 18th Green. You won't be disappointed!

Very friendly club just minutes from the centre of Lincoln. Although on the short side the parkland layout is is far from easy. Fairways and greens are in good condition. Food in the clubhouse is always excellent and the staff always friendly. Well worth a visit.

The minute you walk into the clubhouse you feel what a lovely welcoming club this is. The course is beautiful with some tough holes over water and ditches. It's in great condition. Afterwards the catering is excellent and so reasonable too. Everything is homemade. Looking forward to another visit.

Second time playing here and is a very enjoyable parkland course. Not too much elevation but the twists and turns of the fairways to get a shot at the green make this course a uniquely challenging one, but really enjoyable. The staff and members I ran into are super friendly too, Lucy in particular was very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend playing here!

Lucky enough to play the lakes course twice for work, the course was in incredible condition, plenty of fairways to attack, some stunning water holes. Hotel is amazing too, looks incredibly chique and food was amazing. Would definitely go back

The hotel needs an update as it is getting very tired in places. The staff were all friendly and very helpful. Bar prices were a bit steep but the food was good especially the breakfast. The golf courses were both in reasonable condition and proved a good test of golf.

2 couple went for 2 nights and the men played golf. The golf course was excellent kept and wonderful to play on . The time delay between players needs looking into as there were a few queues on the greens at times. The hotel and staff are a credit to Belton Woods. Enthusiastic and knowledgeable, nothing was to much trouble. Everything was clean and stylish. The rooms were very large and so was the bathroom. Not a lot of pressure out of our shower but adequate. All in all a great weekend away. Thanks 😊

Played the Lakes Course after the recent cold snap, so everything (tees, greens, lakes, bunkers, fairways and rough! 😂) were frozen. Despite the recent horrendous weather, the course was in excellent condition. Really interesting layout, no two holes are the same, and as suggested in the name of this particular course, plenty of water to navigate around! The staff we encountered in the golf shop and in the bar afterwards were very friendly, polite and helpful, and the interior of the hotel/bar/restaurant is on par with The Belfry - Very stylish and classy, with a welcoming vibe to the entire complex. Looking forward to coming back in the spring when it's a bit warmer!

Went with my sister we had a brilliant time, lady on reception was lovely nicest reception lady I have ever had in a hotel and I've been in a few. Nice walk round golf course, nice spa lots more seating round the pool this time. I'm glad they didn't have the ice machine in the spa as the last time we went, kids were eating it not good when customers use it on there bodys. Restaurant after walk round golf course was very nice after for coffee ☕️ our room was amazing cannot fault any thing in the hotel. Outside was lovely too, only one thing could have looked better is the little park area needs a bit of tidy up. Dinner and breakfast were amazing too in the restaurant, me and my sister are going to make it our yearly thing. Thank you for making our time amazing.

It's OK. It's the only decent hotel in area which gives them a bit of a monopoly. Rooms themselves are looking a little tired and could do with new carpet and and a good deep clean (dust all around headboard). Beds are well past their best too. I had a room with ac which only went down to 21c. I booked a room with ac as I like a cold room for sleeping in. Asking in reception I was told this is centrally controlled and can't be changed. A few hours later my colleague checks in and has also booked a room with ac and his went down to 18. Few min on Google and mine went down to 16. I don't know if reception staff were told to say this due to penny pinching or if they didn't know or simply didn't care but I didn't really appreciate it after spending up to £200 a night for a room. Fitness facilities are OK with large pool, steam and sauna. Food doesn't have enough variety for evening meals and is very expensive. Sutton Arms down the road is good if you want a change of scenery. Breakfast was excellent but coffee machine is powdered milk. Better with the filter coffee and fresh milk which is on offer.
Rating: 4 / 5
Returned for a round of golf after many years since my last visit, pro shop is still very good with a solid selection of gear. Breakfast sandwich and coffee in the upstairs bar was very good and friendly staff. Regarding the course I was left a little disappointed, it has been a long time since my last visit of which I remember it being excellent but the course seemed a little tired. The greens were very patchy in places and painfully slow, and fairways and tee boxes were quite long. That being said it’s still kept tidy around the courses and it’s still a very good looking course on the eye and a testing track.
Rating: 4 / 5
More of a 4.5, but just a couple of minor let downs. Firstly, it was about -1, so naturally the course was a bit frosty in places, but for £30 you won't get better value for a winter round of golf. We played the Forest/Pines layout, and every hole was different and presented different challenges. It is a well thought out lay out, where anything wayward will get punished, but not to the point of not feeling like you can get yourself out of a tight spot. The few let downs were - Some tee boxes were in play, others were off winter mats that were the size of doormats, and they were horrendously slippy (a mixture of the cold weather, but they were all well worn too). Every pin was right at the front edge of every green - Again, it's winter on a very good golf course so naturally you expect the greens to be protected, but it just meant you were putting through a very trodden area each time, and for the better golfers out there, there was no real reward for finding the centre of a green, or flighting a shot over the hazards etc. The Pines Bar was a nice spot, but there was no indication if food was available, other than empty plates that had been left on 4 or 5 tables , and there wasn't a menu for food in sight. Overall, it's the middle of winter, so you're never going to see or play a course at it's true stature, so we will return in the Spring and see what it's like, but certainly worth the money at this time of year
