We celebrated my son’s 40th birthday at the club. Great venue fantastic food & service from the in house staff.

Played here at Leek Golf Club last week (17/5/25). I really like playing this Course, 1 of my favourites in the area, well maintained, testing Course with great elevated views off some of the Tee's. Member's/Staff really welcoming, all in all, really good golf course.

Brilliant golf course, really well maintained. Enjoyed playing here, the weather was on our side too. The course is full of hills, which makes it more fun to play but can leave you out of breath. Would recommend playing here as it’s reasonably priced via Golf Now app.

Accompanied the granddaughter to breakfast with santa,,the hospitality staff were brilliant, and the morning was really well organised, from the believable santa to the great food. Will definitely be back next year.

We decided to book a champagne breakfast the day after our diamond Wedding Anniversary on which was 17th April. The breakfast was arranged for Good Friday , 18th. As it was Easter weekend, we confirmed the booking last August. The menu had changed in 2025 but they agreed to honour our original booking which was based on the previous menu. We placed our individual orders a week before the event. Our party consisted of 21 adults and two children plus a baby. We were welcomed warmly and given the Atrium which was beautifully laid out for us. Once we were seated the various courses were served. The staff were extremely attentive, ensuring that the coffee pots and teapots were replenished throughout the meal and orange juice regularly topped up. Everyone enjoyed their choice of food which were amply proportioned. We can understand why the new menu is less extensive (at a lower price) as a starter followed by a main after pastries proved too much for most guests.We were asked when we would like the champagne to be served and opted for the end so that we could make our toasts. All in all it was a most wonderful, unhurried occasion with quality fresh cooked food and excellent personal service. Throughout the whole process from initial booking to actually attending us on the day, Laura Ryder has done an excellent job. Her customer relations service is one of the best I have experienced in my 82 years. It is certainly somewhere we shall consider for our 70th anniversary in 10 years time (lol) - just being positive!

Enjoyed an excellent breakfast on our 1st visit to Horsley Lodge. Wonderful views across the golf course & surrounding countryside. Well done chef, a perfect full English with quality ingredients, our best breakfast ever at a great price. Will return soon to sample the lunch menu.

We went for a meal there. The service was very good, especially as it was really busy. On an offer is 3 starters smaller ones. Very nice. However, the belly pork was dry. My friend shared the cheese and nachos they really enjoyed it. Then 2 of us went for the horsely lodge burger. 1 went for a chicken burger, and 1 went for the fish. The beef burgers were OK but overcooked. We were all too full for desserts. The real ale is really nice. Overall, it was a pleasant evening.

Our first time in the new restaurant and I have to say it didn’t disappoint. What a change, the design is a huge improvement from before, they’ve created a welcoming and contemporary restaurant which is matched with a varied and interesting menu. And so lovely to look out over the stunning golf course. The food was good, so was the service. Looking forward to our next visit, would definitely recommend!

Lovely golf course, nice steady walk, greens in great condition and great service in clubhouse afterwards

At first glance the course might not seen as 'glossy' as its close neighbour, the renowned Cavendish. This is a different proposition - an excellent, subtly featured golf course with plenty of features which kept us interested all the way round. Some quite challenging ancient quarries which are demanding without prior knowledge. Dips and bumps add much to the quality of play in the approach to the greens. Overall a very playable course for a moderately capable golfer ...unless the wind is blowing! Not as up-and-down as Cavendish by any means - far less exhausting for some. Kept to a very good standard, with welcoming staff. This is well-drained (almost links-style course but with trees) likely to be open in all but the very worst possible weather. Very affordably priced too - we found it to be excellent value and very welcoming.

Great course, always in good condition. The green fees are so reasonable!! The course provides a great variety for all golfers even having a links feel to 4 of the holes. I would definitely recommend a visit!!

Such a great day with members from our club in Nottinghamshire. The staff were very friendly & attentive & the course was lovely with great views over Buxton & the surrounding area. The food was excellent home made steak pie & crumble to follow 😋 Hopefully the score will improve next time, we will be back 🏌️‍♂️🏌️‍♀️⛳️

Great facility for any celebration, easy to get to it, located in scenic surroundings, our fun casino set up worked really well. Manager is friendly, professional and lovely, she made our visit unforgettable ❤️

Beautiful little course. You play 12 holes then 13 to 18 are played over some of the same holes. Just rocked up and paid £20 for 1-12. Short but challenging holes. Friendly, helpful staff.

Came here as a 3 ball and a 2 ball. What a wonderful experience all round. Course was absolutely stunning, back 9 is a test. 10/10 for me and in my top 5 courses I've ever played. The great weather we had may influence that rating but from tee to green the course was immaculate. Very welcoming culture from staff and members as well which is an added bonus. Thanks for having us Chesterfield GC. We shall see you again.

Superb golf course and setting. Well worth a visit if you get chance, although a little brown just at the moment, the tees, greens and surrounds are well watered so still very playable.

We play a lot of open competitions a year and two of the Lad's had never played Chevin before so I booked us into an open. The day from start to finish was second to none.We were made to feel extremely welcome by all the staff from the club house to the well stocked Pro shop then a starter that was a credit to the club. We had a top notch breakfast then a round on one of the very best courses we have played this year. Fairways were just like walking on carpet complemented by true greens that posed some issues to work out the line in short a top course. I would very strongly recommend this class golf club.

Visited today 30/05/2025,may we say the fish and chips meal we had was excellent,light crispy batter,pea puree was all good and the side of curry sauce was great too, compliments to the chef,plus very good service from bar staff,course looks great very friendly golf club ,will definitely be back for a round of golf and a meal .

Excellent course. Not the longest in the world, but technical with sloped fairways. The technically gifted will have a significant reward. Nice clubhouse with friendly staff.

Billed as a very welcoming course, and guess what? It really is! Enjoyable autumnal round, members very welcoming, super lunch in the bar, recommend.

Great range. Good facilities, clean tidy. Toilets, refreshments. And better value than most ranges. £3.60 I think for a large buckets of balls.

Fantastic facilities, Dave is very friendly and a very easy coach to to work with. Definitely worth going hit some balls if your local or just pass through.

Brilliant driving range and facilities. The automatic ball dispensers have been removed which has made life a bit more difficult. The log burner in he winter time is especially good for warming yourself up again. The only thing that’s missing is a happy hour when a basket of balls is half price.

Brilliant and friendly course couldn’t recommended it enough

Absolute class. My friend and I played on a glorious Sunday afternoon in October, and it was perfect. I knew about the reputation of this course as ‘the inspiration for Augusta’ and it does deliver. Dr Alastair McKenzie knew what he was doing. Amazing views from all corners of the course and despite the overall elevation, because the holes are carefully crafted into the tables of the terrain, it is a surprisingly good walk. The staff (shoutout to assistant pro, Liam) are super helpful and make you feel very welcome. Great hospitality in the clubhouse and you can enjoy watching players come in with a cold pint on the terrace. Cannot recommend highly enough and can’t wait to return next year. Proper golf course!

What a fabulous course. Every hole was different and the views were amazing. A very friendly clubhouse, everyone happy to help where possible and we were extremely lucky to be able to take our black labrador, Blue, with us. Would love to play there again. Might even play it a little differently especially the 15th par 3 ending up as an 11 after landing just off the green and then chipping on only to have the ball return to me again and again from their very nasty slope. Fast greens but in lovely condition.

A fantastic day at Cavendish GC. You can really see why this has been an inspiration for Augusta in certain areas of the course. Absolutely stunning views throughout. We were shocked how quiet it was for a mid afternoon tee-time. Bunkers were beautiful, flour like almost. Fairways were well kept and the ball rolled beautifully. The greens were quick (my entire 4 ball doesn’t want to talk about the 3rd green lol). Some tricky par 3s but definitely a nice experience for all golfers. Highly recommend for the price.

Excellent game of golf, the course was in great shape and the greens were rather fast. Gorgeous pint of ale afterwards and the best fish finger sandwich I’ve ever had!

Played here on a sunny Sunday evening and really enjoyed the course. The tees, fairways and greens were in really good condition, and as far as the holes go my favourite was probably the uphill par 3 9th, although I enjoyed all of the par 3's. Of the rest the downhill par 4 11th will remain long in the memory, and the 12th will have you wondering just how far you can afford to hit your tee shot with water at the bottom of the fairway. With one or two exceptions the fairways are reasonably friendly, so a course that anyone can really play. I'm not saying they'll necessarily score well though. The greens are pretty tricky too. It's not a flat course, so if you have any issues with a few climbs then this might be one to consider getting a buggy. It is worth playing though.

Wow, what a gem! It’s not very often you get humour, support, coaching and value for money. That’s what I got from a last minute booking for Ashbourne Golf course. The pro shop were very friendly, but Neil and Andy made my day. When they welcomed me to join them. It really helped and I went from 20 over to my best round of the year. Neil and Andy, you are very lucky to have such a thinking persons course. It really is a test and even though I live 200 miles away I will be back. Good luck with the competition.

Nice course with very welcome Pro. Has a small range (but you can hit driver) and warm up area and a practice green. The course is nice with some interesting holes including ones with water in play. A decent length as well, particularly off the back tees. The only issue I had was with some of the greens (which seem somewhat of upside bowls and impossible to stop the ball on), and a fair few blind tee shots. But these are only small issues. For the price it’s definitely worth a visit.

First time I have DJ'ed at the all new Manor Golf Club Kingstone. I didn't miss carrying my kit up the stairs, as access is now very simple, the staff very chatty and helpful the food most excellent, all in all a great little gem of a venue, thank you to Emma for inviting me along to DJ her event

Very friendly staff and members. The course is in pretty good nick considering the very wet months have been followed by a virtual drought. It is a decent test of golf and the back nine is welcome relief. Bar staff extremely accommodating. Well worth a visit. The tlc the greenkeepers are giving the course will soon be worth five stars. A very nice day out.
