We had been thinking about having our garden redesigned for sometime. Over the years we had added new features and plants to the garden but found that it lacked the right balance and the connection with the house and therefore engaged Christine from GreenArden to help us create a new design for the garden. We had a very good experience with GreenArden. Christine was happy to provide us with a range of ideas and we spent time considering many different options. She challenged many of our own ideas and put forward some interesting suggestions for a new layout which we really liked and had not considered before. She was very committed to making sure that we settled on a design which we were completely happy with. She was also able to introduce us to a firm of garden landscapers who did a fantastic job and during the construction of the new garden she made regular visits to project manage the building of the new garden. She also made the most amazing selection of new plants which work perfectly in the new garden. Our advice to anyone considering retaining a garden designer is to make sure that they choose someone who can demonstrate a range of different design ideas and also someone who can combine strong design skills with an in depth understanding of plants and garden layout. Overall we felt that we had great service from Christine and she was a pleasure to work with. The design is fantastic and throughout the whole process it was obvious that she takes a strong professional pride in doing a great job and ensuring that the client is completely satisfied with the outcome. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending GreenArden.

We wanted to turn a lawn with borders into something more interesting, more sustainable and requiring low maintenance. Christine listened to what we wanted and helped us to identify the best solution. She then suggested a planting scheme which suited what we were looking for and, most importantly, implemented it, including bringing in a contractor for some groundworks (gravel paths), sourcing the plants and planting them in. We would never have attempted, let alone achieved, such a radical transformation without professional help. The garden is now stunning. Christine and her colleagues have been back for routine maintenance visits as the garden has matured. We are delighted!

Christine has a unique background for a garden designer being a trained architect as well as a landscaper gardener who has a great passion and understanding of plants and planting. This means she combines a strong sense of structural design with beautiful naturalistic planting. We wanted a design for a raised terrace and garden that would complement our house remodel and that would create a sense of flow and continuity between the house and the garden. She looked at our building plans, listened carefully to our ideas and what we liked and didn’t like, and produced a very good initial draft. We then worked closely together to iterate and she offered new suggestions as needed to create a final design we loved. When it came to planting she took into account particular plants I wanted to save from my old garden, other ones I wanted to include and also introduced me to a number of new varieties. She recommended an excellent landscape builder (Lukas) who was also a pleasure to work with. The build took a few weeks and we planted in November. March onwards we have enjoyed an ever evolving array of colors and shapes. Her planting design has cleverly ensured that just as one plant is coming to the end of its season something new is ready to take its place. The garden looks as if it has been there for years!She also provided helpful gardening notes of what to do when throughout the year or is happy to do this for you if you prefer. All in all we found Christine to be a collaborative and creative partner who has designed a garden that gives us joy every day - highly recommended !

Having attempted our garden previously on my own, it had ended up looking like a hodgepodge so some help was needed. Was also on the fence about how much professional help I would use. But having worked with Christine at GreenArden design, the investment was totally worth it! We absolutely love our new garden, know it will stand the test of time and flourish over the coming seasons. From choosing which trees to use for screening, to the overall design, theme, sourcing and planting, I am absolutely delighted. Christine's knowledge, passion and eye for design was clear from the start. Also very responsive and managed lead times very well. It's hard to write a review for Christine and Green Arden Design because we are simply blown away by her work! We really wanted a complete redesign of our small/medium garden as we had a garden office installed which was dominating. We wanted to go from a functional space (patio, lawn, outgrown trampoline, small neglected flower beds) and really enjoy our garden. As we have very little experience we gave Christine and idea of the aesthetics we like (I think I somehow had a cross between Tuscany - never been - and a wildflower garden in my mind!) and let her come up with the design. It's absolutely beautiful. She has completely transformed our garden, we have different levels, different places to sit, lighting and water. Best of all though, is the planting. I could never have believed our modest garden could be so full with so many different yet cohesive colours, textures and heights. I could not recommend Green Arden highly enough, Christine is a great listener but crucially she will make suggestions and offer expert opinions which I really needed. I'd also like to shout out to the landscapers Christine worked with. Lukas and team are absolutely exceptional and a pleasure to deal with. Possibly the most hardworking men I've ever seen!
