Ben came to fix two doors which were not closing properly and a large headboard which had come off the wall. This was not a major job for him but he was efficient and did an excellent job. He left the rooms spotlessly clean and was a really nice person to deal with.

Ben has just built an entertainment wall cabinet for us and we are delighted with the finish. The quality of his workmanship is excellent and he is most polite and tidy. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to my friends

We are so happy with our bespoke chimney breast that Ben built for us. He knew exactly what we wanted and he really delivered. Nothing was too much trouble for him. He sourced the materials so that we could have the rustic look we wanted and the results are amazing. I would definitely recommend Ben. In fact, we have more jobs lined up for him.

What can I say, Ben is breath of fresh air in the construction industry. Having been let down by others and on a critical timeline to complete my project I found Bens details and contacted him as he was local & explained the situation. Ben said he would look at what he could to help and juggle his workload and would get back to me later that day & he actually did! Agreed a date, agreed a price. He turned up on the agreed day and even had the decency to call and say he was running a little late. He came in did the work to a fantastic standard, worked flat out, cleaned up after himself & was polite & professional at all times. Jonny turned an unusable roof terrace into an absolutely beautiful outdoor entertaining area. His skills were second to none and a pleasure to work with. He wasn’t satisfied with the job until I was and never said no to anything! 5 stars was an understatement. We’ll be working together again for sure. If it’s carpentry/ outdoor kitchens you’re after, you’ll be silly not to give him a call.

Highly recommend Jonny. His work is brilliant, he is reasonably priced, punctual and polite. He recently built a cabinet and shelves for me from scratch and the results are fantastic. We spoke briefly about what I wanted to achieve, and he immediately came up with recommended solutions and then smashed through the work. Anytime I need carpentry services in future, I will 100% be phoning Jonny, which is probably the best thing I can say!

We have used Archer Carpentry for roof line changes and to fit our Handmade Kitchens of Christchurch kitchen. On both occasions Matt and his team were polite, on time, well organised and very quick and tidy. If there were any unexpected glitches Matt found a solution and fixed it without drama. I felt they were very fairly priced, honest and great people to work with. I would absolutely recommend Archer Carpentry and would definitely use them again.

Nick did an amazing job fitting 2 doors last year (pic1), so we had him back to fit 5 second floor doors. He overcame plenty of issues with the door frames and door handles but with perseverance he did a fantastic job. He’s very particular which is really good and does not do shabby work, he’s booked in for another job which I wouldn’t have anyone else to do. Definitely recommend 100%. 12/12/23 I’d thought I’ll add a few more comments and pictures as I’m unable to post a new review. Nick does a great job, comes up with bespoke designs and ideas, executed precisely. Have a beautiful wardrobe with hidden cloakroom and dressing area/table hiding an ugly pillar, masses of storage, exactly as it was in my head! Definitely recommend 😊

After five years of having Nick as our carpenter it has suddenly dawned on me we have never left a review!! What a terrible oversight. Nick is amazing. No job too big or too small and each undertaken with meticulous care and attention to detail. Nick has moved and refitted doors, built a wardrobe, redesigned a fitted wardrobe, rebuilt stairs and repaired several external wet rot damaged window ledges. We have been more than happy with all the work Nick has undertaken. Living in an old house, having moved from a modern vicarage, there are always maintenance carpentry jobs that need doing to keep the house in good repair and no walls are straight making many jobs challenging. But Nick undertakes them all with careful consideration, patience and expertise. He is honest and trustworthy and we are thrilled to have found Nick and wouldn’t have any other carpenter. We would recommend Woods Contemporary Carpentry unreservedly.

I used Smart H Interiors to build a floor to ceiling cupboard, box in an electric meter and install an integrated washer dryer and new counter top. Very impressed with the customer service and quality of work completed. Lovely people who went above and beyond to meet my requirements and make sure I was happy with the work. Phil and the team were professional and did an incredible job building walls for an exhibition for us. They created an invisible door as well and the finish of everything was beautiful. It was a particularly hard space to install walls in but they managed to comply with all the safety requirements and were innovative in their approach, using powerful magnets as opposed to securing the structure by drilling into the existing walls. They were also very friendly, tidy and quick to respond. We will definitely work with them again and would recommend the team highly!

Mitchell O'born Carpentry did a fantastic job. Fitting very heavy doors upto 50kg with precison lining up the new to old hinge cutouts. 11 doors fitted in total all matching designs but varying in size and weight. He was extremely helpful in the consultation phase and I found him to be very trustworthy, polite and very clean. I'd like to point out his level of craft is top "notch" highly recommended.
