This was my first visit to F&G (in a party of four) and it was really very pleasant. The venue has great decor, nice background music and was very comfortable. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and attentive, and all four of us really enjoyed our food. I would definitely return.

Wonderful place! I enjoyed a delicious omelette with pomme frites. However, the coffee was disappointing. Both my partner and I ordered cappuccinos, and we found the milk either tasted off or the coffee itself was a strange flavour. The drink was more like a milky latte with a little froth rather than a properly made cappuccino. On the bright side, the staff were friendly and made us feel welcome. I would recommend this spot for breakfast, but next time I will opt for a regular Americano.

My friend and I had a Sunday Roast at this lovely restaurant in Whitstable. I had beef an my friend had chicken. Everything was cooked to perfection and was piping hot. Service was wonderful too. Finished off with a delicious carrot cake. Will definitely be back!

Excellent location, good service even though they were busy and a surprisingly large menu for the size of it. As it's a small building, it's a little cramped inside, but on a good day there are outside tables. I had fish and chips, my friend had an omelette and they were both cooked perfectly with generous portions. We'll definitely be back, thanks.

"Greasy Spoon with a view". Finally found somewhere serving proper old skool sauté potatoes rather than the abomination that is the triangular hash brown - truly the grey squirrel of the breakfast world - American invasive species, both. £8.60 including tea and toast. Excellent.

We old codgers moved 30 miles away a year ago but still come back to Whitstable and Tankerton for afternoon strolls. Always call here for coffee etc never try elsewhere. It is faultless and extremely attractive in all respects.

“After a friend’s recommendation, we decided to check out this café, and it quickly became a favorite! The cozy, inviting atmosphere paired with an incredibly friendly team made us feel right at home. The coffee was exceptional—rich and flavorful, easily some of the best we’ve had. We ordered the mozzarella panini, sticky toffee cake, matcha, and caramel iced coffee, and every bite and sip was a delight. Being just a short stroll from the beach adds to the charm. I enjoyed it so much that I promised my husband we’ll be making this a regular spot!”

2021 just got better! Tankerton has needed a proper skilled barista for years and now we have one! I am super fussy about my coffee and the care, time, attention and taste of my coffee here was second to none. Owner and team were super welcoming and friendly. Space has plenty of seating and is bright and stylish. There’s even vegan cake options and even more importantly for me - they use Oatly Barista for their oat milk option. The Union beans were super smooth. Highly recommended! Welcome to Tankerton Kafeine!

Friendly, delicious, generous portions and a great selection. I admit it, I’m from the States. When we come to visit, we adjust our expectations about breakfast out. We wandered into Whitstable Cafe sort of by accident, and we were hungry. The menu here is extensive, and everyone found something terrific. We had Bubble with Tiger Toast (a stack), bagel sandwiches from around the world, delicious espresso drinks, a gorgeous avocado toast with salmon and chili flake, omelet and more. We stayed in the comfy diner-style restaurant longer than we expected, and came away well-sated for a very reasonable fee. Thanks, Whitstable Cafe, we’ll be back!

What makes the place cosy is atmosphere & happy, welcoming staff. It is a place that can feel like home the first time you visit because the staff here are amazingly friendly. The best cup of coffee I have had ever. The cakes are amazing and very generous portions. Lunch menu had some lovely and some different & healthy choices such as bagel with halloumi. All meal served with salad. Big portions n very reasonable prices which never burden on ur pocket. Very busy at peak times but well worth being patient for table. Must recommend this place.

Service was quick and easy, the coffee was lovely and the breakfast was great. The bacon, sausages and black pudding were all very good quality. I forgot to take a picture before I ate the breakfast but the image speaks for itself!

Proper English fry-up. I had a great breakfast here the other day, full English breakfast with a cuppa tea for £10. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. I will certainly be back.

Very good coffee - for those with a sweet tooth (like me) there were plenty of flavoured syrups to choose from! Also frozen yoghurt specifically for our dog. Situated on the first floor of the South Quay development, with seats and armchairs giving views over the harbour. A really pleasant spot and highly recommended.

Lovely coffee and friendly staff in a great location! Also a great idea to have the app that rewards regular customers. My only complaint is the music. It's way too loud early in the morning. It may be ok later in the day when there's lots of people around, and it becomes part of the general hubbub. But first thing in the morning I suspect customers want to just come in and chill (I do anyway) and not have to listen to a selection of 80s/90s bangers. Great that the South Quay Shed is dog friendly, too.

Had a great experience at The Hat Hats Coffee in Whitstable, located inside the food court on the first floor of South Quay. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and I was thrilled to find they serve OATLY, which is my go-to oat milk—something you don’t find everywhere. I’m not a fan of other plant milks, so this was a big plus. The coffee itself was excellent—strong, bold, and full of character. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!

So I didn’t actually know about HatHats until they started serving coffee onsite at my work in Discovery Park, when I first had one of their coffees I was so impressed, the coffee was SO good & the staff were so friendly, just a pleasant break away from the desk! They’ve now opened up a more permanent coffee shop within Discovery Park, which is brilliant, their sweet treats are always amazing (so good.. I took one home for my partner!) We then stumbled across them at Whitstable today, which was a pleasant surprise. Again, greeted by a lovely young lady and as always the coffee & sweet treats were amazing! HatHats really have got things right - seriously good coffee an extensive premium drinks menu, dairy alternatives (including Oatly oat milk), delicious food, lovely staff & we can’t wait to return next weekend - thank you! I definitely recommend a visit to any of their stores.

Up frum Lundon for a Xmas lunch. What joy! From the warm welcome and in depth discussion of the menu to the presentation of a wonderful variety of. Meze the whole experience was sheer delight. The service was seamless, faultless, friendly and fun, the flavours and freshness of the food made our lunch the best restaurant meal of the year. And we are professional lunch eaters! Cannot praise Jojos too highly. Do not visit Whitstable without taking in a Jojo Meze. Epic establishment. Memorable occasion. Thank you, Jojo.

First visit to JoJo's. Won't be our last. Great food and service and the ambience was spot on. All items had a perfect balance of quality ingredients with delicate spicing, cooking and presentation backed with a strong supporting cast of refreshments. Do leave space for the desserts. They are excellent too. Must include the staff who are a great team and most helpful.

A sharing platter for two was the perfect amount for a good lunch, and there was a wide variety of interesting stuff on the board, all of it tasty, fresh, and well prepared. Meats in particular were gorgeous, and the huuuuge olives are to die for. Special mention also to the amazing hummus and tzatziki. Staff seemed happy, and were helpful and attentive. So yeah. You can’t miss this place if you’re in Whitstable. Food was top - fresh, flavourful and beautifully presented. Enjoyed the Japanese influence in some of the dishes. Cheery and homely service in a casual home-feel setting. Owner took us through the history of the place and even consulted the chefs and waiters to ensure we were getting the correct info! Pictured is the back room where we were sat. Corkage applied so bring your own booze. Hope to come back!

Best food we have ever eaten, the tasting menu was fantastic 😋 very friendly staff. Great atmosphere and taking your own wine is an added bonus from the Offy over the street....we also popped in for lunch and ate at the counter, the choice of homemade food treats is just fabulous. Highly recommend eating at Wheelers Oyster Bar 🦪🦪

The food is simply amazing. If seafood is your thing, then this is your Shangri-la. We had the Tasting menu and the excellence and variety of flavours was incredible. Atmosphere a little flat as only one other table occupied in the 'new' section of the restaurant, but the sheer quality of the food was more than enough to make for a wonderful dining experience.

On a recommendation of a chef friend of ours, we booked lunch on a beautifully sunny Wednesday last week. Lovely reception from the staff. Menu is tapas style but infinity variable. We ordered five dishes to share, and this was plenty for the three of us. the food freshly cooked in an open kitchen and is nicely presented but tastes brilliant! Posh cheesey chips are magnificent. Would happy recommend and come back when we are next in the area. Good wine list, some really interesting alcohol free wines reasonable pricing.

Food, service and atmosphere were wonderful. We had six small plates and all were layered with flavour and textures. The art work in the restaurant is so eye catching and suits the vib. Chef talked us through a few plates and the whole service was friendly. Definitely coming back!

I wouldn’t normally write a Google review but the food was so fantastic that I had to. We ordered multiple tapas style dishes and I liked every one so much I wouldn’t have been able to pick a favourite. They flavours are imaginative and the food is well presented. The staff were also very attentive and welcoming. I would definitely recommend Land and sea!

We’ve tried all of Whitstable’s top restaurants and this place is far ahead of the pack! Incredible food, small plates packed with flavour on a menu that changes pretty regularly, attentive and friendly service (we asked about dairy free and they annotated a menu for us and made suggestions etc), and lovely decor. We particularly loved the corn ribs, prawns and tuna. Loved it so much we went back twice in one week… Cannot recommend this place enough!

Christmas Eve tasting menu, what can I say... Amazing, perfect the culinary high of Christmas. Especially when accompanied by the wine tasting menu.. 8 different dishes, paired with 8 different glasses of "wine." I know this was the first time the Lazy Lobster had done a tasting menu and a brave thing to roll out on Christmas Eve. But they smashed it, the kitchen staff cooked ever dish to perfection, and the waiting staffs knowledge of the wines was incredible. Our highlight of Christmas. I better just add that this restaurant has started to become one of the main contenders in Whitstable, due to quality food, including small plates, a really good Sunday roast, a relaxed atmosphere, with knowledgeable friendly staff. We decided to come to Whitstable for the day from London to have lunch and enjoy the local seafood and we found this lovely new restaurant. We ordered oysters, croquettes, prawns, sardines and half lobster. Food was delicious and we loved every dish we ordered. The staff were friendly and efficient, and the restaurant had lovely setting and atmosphere. Thank you to team at Lazy Lobster for being the very highlight of our day trip to Whitstable. We look forward to coming back very soon.

We visited The Lazy Lobster during a short holiday in the area. It was the best seafood meal we've ever experienced - everything from the food to the service was exceptional. We ordered about 7 different small plates and we loved everything, the scallops and the tiger prawns were probably our favourites. The tuna crudo was so fresh and even the non seafood plates such as the deep fried pickles and the bread were delicious. The servers were super friendly and attentive. We loved it and will definitely be visiting again when we are next in the area.

Great food - tasty and imaginative! Both mains (brill and pork with plum) were really good and we also enjoyed the starters and sides. Only minor point is the food is a bit heavy on the butter. The service is friendly and fast - definitely above average. Recommended, will visit again!
