Lovely pub with really great staff but the food simply isn’t good enough. Fish and chips- cod was small and looked like an oven-type fillet from birdseye. Roast- passable but parsnips were pretty much raw , and the potatoes had no crisp to them. Would come back just for a pint but not eat.
I didn’t find the gardeners so couldn’t check if they were jolly - but the pork belly was yummy
The Jolly's is one of my favourite pubs in Putney and I think the refurb is just perfect. They have managed to retain the unique character of the building and create somewhere full of warmth and sense of special. The choice of colours, the lighting and new furniture work together so well. Wishing Shane and his team lots of well-deserved success
This is a lovely lovely pub in Putney. Down a side street and super cute shacks outside. Inside was great with an eclectic mix of customers. Comfortable seating and cosy decor. The reason the rating isn’t higher is the food could have been better. The fish skin was not crispy and I’m not sure if the sauce was authentic bouillabaisse. And the crumble tasted a bit floury and the crème anglaise was custard, v nice but not accurately described. Would come again though. I got extra custard and aioli as an extra with yum triple cooked chips. Apparently the roasts are really good.
Very cozy place. Delicious food, friendly atmosphere, good service! And very nice Christmas decorations! I liked it there!!!
