I've recently visited the NEST and i have to say, me and my friends had such a special night. The vibe was cozy and welcoming yet the service was super professional! The food and drinks are holidays for your eyes and tastebuds. I will definitely come back and can only recommend to visit this special place, when in London.

We walked in on a Sunday 12pm (parked along the side roads as it was free, 2min walk). The cafe was really busy but spatious, so the waiting time was only 10-15mins. The staff were really friendly, however they took some time to provide us with a menu and take our order. Love the way they had plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. We went for the vegetarian nest breakfast, it had vegan sausages, jam on the sourdough and generous portion of eggs. Was tasty but would’ve preferred without the jam. I liked the touch of Edamame and sesame on top. I ordered a decaff cuccupino with almond milk and it was really tasty! Presentation was great and we ended up spending 3 hours chilling, eating and catching up. Although the cafe was busy, there wasn’t a single moment where we felt rushed to leave, it was a nice environment. This place is also dog and child friendly with different types of seating (sofa, chairs, tables etc). Quite an aesthetic cafe. I’d go back :)

The Nest in Barnes is 5 stars all round. Every time I visit whether it be for a mid week brunch, a place to work or with friend the vibe is always right and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The food is exceptional, fresh and full of flavour. On my most recent trip I started with their Turkish eggs and a coffee while I worked. The perfect breakfast to star the day which is both light and delicious with perfectly toasted sourdough. I ended up working the day away and ordering their Nourish bowl with gochujang prawns and their delicious Pineapple Chilli marg which I highly recommend. Everything come plated beautifully. I highly recommend a visit if your in Barnes.

Amazing cosy neighbourhood restaurant, love the vibe and the food is DELICIOUS. The brunch menu has so many different things to offer and the evenings are also so cosy. Love the lemongrass daiquiri cocktail!

We had a great experience! The food was really tasty, and the portions were just right. The staff were super friendly, which made the whole experience even better. You can tell the owner cares about making this a cozy and welcoming place. The prices are fair for what you get, especially with the quality of the dishes. I’ll definitely be coming back

I recently moved to Barnes, and Cafe 66 has quickly become my go-to spot. With a fantastic selection of truly homemade food, exceptional coffee and tea, outstanding service, and a wonderful atmosphere, it’s a true gem. I feel lucky to live so close to such a special place.

A small and cozy cafe in Barnes, with lovely decor and service. Loved the music too! Had a the winter orange and cinnamon tea and cake
Rating: 5 / 5
This is my family’s favourite cafe (including our dog!). The food here is amazing, everything is homemade and authentic. The staff are so lovely and welcoming. Our dog drags us to this cafe every time he goes past and does not leave until he gets a minimum of 10 treats. We go here at least once a week and our favourite dishes are the avocado and chicken salad, the homemade cakes (especially the tiramisu cake!!!), the berry smoothie, all of the chunky soups and the avocado on toast.

I hardly dare share this review in case I can't get a seat next time I go, but I just love this little cafe. Fabulous food and everything is prepared and served like they really care. Even the water tastes special. The soups are especially wonderful, and I don't mind paying a little more than usual because I feel it's absolutely worth it, and anyway, supporting independent businesses is very important. Forget those horrid corporate chains. Come here instead and enjoy the hands-on creative efforts of the lovely staff and don't buy all the muffins because there'd better be one left for me.

The best cafe in Barnes, this little unassuming place packs a great punch, serving the best home cooked food money can buy! And the service is super friendly. Everything is made in-house including the bread. from soups to cakes, it’s all amazing, fresh & healthy I can’t recommend cafe 66 enough.

OKA Restaurant Barnes
88 Church Rd, London SW13 0DQ, UK | Sushi Restaurant P: 020 8741 8577
Rating: 4.6 (223) Price Level:
The most amazing food, definitely my favourite sushi spot. The service from Abhi was great. Highly recommend
Rating: 5 / 5
I reached out to OKA to help me with a special request putting together a custom sushi "cake" for my partner's birthday. To say the least, I was not disappointed (see pictures!!). The staff were extremely attentive and I got to speak to the chef directly to discuss the ingredients and decorations of the cake. They even added extra details like gold leaf and floral decorations! The cake was delivered at a specified time to our doorstep with sushi condiments and a sparkler candle included. My partner and I are very impressed with the service and attention to detail. Thank you so much to all the staff that helped make this happen!

Really tasty food and a lovely place to eat. They also do takeaway which is very nice. The service is amazing and the food comes quickly. Would definitely recommend for a nice dinner or lunch.

It's 2020 Update: It's been a year since I was last here. Its been a busy year travelling, so nice to check in with the locals. Oka hasn't dissapionted, nice to see they have kept up the high delicious standard. The staff are still very welcoming, good service, great menu and do ask to check for the special. I met a neighbour with his sons, who also enjoyed the fusion of delights on offer. Nice atmosphere especially in the evening when they dim the lights, good music choice, not loud or intrusive. This has been my little new year treat, which l am so pleased it still delivered. Anyway must get back to my green tea ice cream. Keep up the good work. 🍵 🐠 🍚 ________________________________ This is a very new place to eat, selling my favorite food. Very nicely decorated, welcoming staff, can sit up to 26 people. I had the £15 set menu, very well presented and very delicious, with a refreshing cup of green tea. They have a good selection on the menu, also a good drinks list. Nice to see new businesses flourish and wish them well. Check their website for more details. (follow your taste buds) It was a nice treat after a few intense days of art making, a bit of time out.

Oka Barnes is a gem of a restaurant with a wonderful ambiance and ample space. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a delightful place to unwind and enjoy a meal. What impressed me the most was the affordability of their menu. For just $40 per person, I was able to indulge in a sumptuous feast of starters, sushi, refreshing drinks, and delectable desserts. The value for money here is exceptional. Located on a charming road, this restaurant offers a picturesque setting that enhances the overall dining experience. Whether dining in or ordering for home, I strongly recommend Oka Barnes for a satisfying culinary journey.

Stopped off here cycling back from Richmond Park. Very friendly staff and very cycle friendly allowed us all to take our bikes in there were 6 of us. Food was lovely and to a very high quality. Atmosphere was really nice. Would definitely recommend and would definitely return 👌🏽

Extremely nice set of staff who make you feel welcome from the moment you step in. The English breakfast was exceptional – perfectly cooked, fresh, and satisfying. Highly recommend this spot for a hearty meal and a friendly atmosphere!

The Elder Press Cafe

Rating: 4.7 (402) Price Level:
Delicious late breakfast, the old grain porridge was amazing and a lovely change from your simple oat version. The banana bread (specials of the day) was super thick, moist, and came with lovely topics. Great service and atmosphere. Oct 2024 edit: went back to try their savory lunch options - I had the brunch plate which was delicious, shout out to the hot smoked salmon and creamy whipped goat cheese 👌 My friend had the Vietnamese pancake which was good, a lighter option perhaps not the most filling if you’re really hungry (paper thin pancake filled with cooked salmon and veggies)
Rating: 5 / 5
Beautiful place. Clean including super clean loos. Friendly staff, and not overpriced food. Deliciously balanced food not over salted, not too sweet, not too sour and above all super healthy, beautifully presented. Like they really love the art work they make, so your eye is fed first and then your stomach.
Rating: 5 / 5
The perfect brunch spot! I had the super grain porridge, which was delicious and unlike anything I’ve had elsewhere. The menu wasn’t the biggest, but everything was done to perfection. The staff were all very accommodating and welcoming, even though we hadn’t booked in advance. I got a croissant to go, which was honestly the best and biggest croissant I’ve ever had! Crunchy on the outside, soft and buttery on the inside. I’d definitely love to go back and see what their lunch time menu is like.

What a wonderful spot for a Saturday/Sunday morning coffee and brunch. I had the mushroom on sourdough. It was memorable and my cappuccino was delicious. Loved the airiness and atmosphere and the people coming in with dogs. The baked goods look delicious but I wasn’t able to try one. Highly recommend. It was crowded and i didn’t. have a reservation but the hostess did a great job at getting me seated quickly. My last London meal before I headed back to Toronto✈️ so glad I was able to squeeze this in!

Took my mum here for lunch. Am. Az. Ing!!! Great food, brilliant service (friendly and attentive without being intrusive), generous portions and a frankly sinful pastry. Very well laid out establishment. A little tricky to find and get to but UTTERLY worth the trip. It’s Chiswick borders, so it’s not by any means the cheapest, but wow - it was a great afternoon.

What a gem. Great location and a real warm hearty environment. Everyone is super friendly and the coffees are exceptional. I'd always recommend the yogurt and granola as my go to breakfast. Plenty of other options too!

The Waterman’s Arms
375 Lonsdale Rd, London SW13 9PY, UK | Pub P: 020 4529 8970
Rating: 4.6 (543) Price Level:
Booked in for a Sunday roast. Wine selection is lovely. The roast is a different spin on the classic we had the lamb for 2 which was so soft and delicious with a lovely sauce and plenty of meat. You then order sides, we had roasties, carrots and chicory all really tasty and some of the crispiest potatoes. Chocolate mousse for dessert was lovely too. Only criticism is the tables are very close together and can be very loud at peak times. Service is okay could be a little more attentive as we had to ask to order a couple of times.
Rating: 4 / 5
Overall, a really lovely lunch. The food is executed extremely well. Some of the best roast potatoes I’ve ever had. My only qualm is the portion size. For £50, I would expect more than 1/2 a chicken for a sharing dish for 2 people (no sides included). I would absolutely return for the really delicious food and lovely service, but the portions felt just a bit lacking.
Rating: 4 / 5
Lovley Sunday lunch with beautifully prepared Lamb served on the bone for you to carve at the table. Accompaniments were served as options you could choose. each one flavoursome and nicely prepared and presented. The roasties were crisp and fluffy on the inside, just right. Deserts were all homemade and tasty finishing the meal off perfectly. Lots of choice on wines, both red and white. My only slight criticism would be that the tables are packed close together, creating a slightly restricted seating arrangement, especially when people stand over you whilst you're eating. The waiting staff could have been more attentive, engaging, and approachable. All in all a lovely foodie experience you won't regret. My commendation to the kitchen staff for creating a modern take on a classic Sunday roast.

Beautiful birthday lunch at the Waterman’s Arms. We’ve been meaning to try it since it reopened last Autumn, I wish we hadn’t left it so long! We started with a few of the smaller dishes - lemon sole, mackerel and aubergine. Followed by the pork collar as a main to share with chips and flat beans. The mackerel and sole were stand out and the chips, not sure what you put on them to get them so crispy but they were amazing! We then had the baked custard with cherries, wow, looks deceivingly simple but tastes unreal. A really well considered menu, £150 for 2 with 3 courses, drinks and wine.

Coach & Horses
27 Barnes High St, London SW13 9LW, UK | Pub P: 020 8876 2695
Rating: 4.5 (669) Price Level:
We had the best time at our party yesterday all thanks to Sam (pub manager) and Violet (bartender) I could not speak highly enough of them. Great atmosphere great food and the best service. We rented the room at the back of the pub and I’m never doing parties anywhere else now. Thank you Coach and horses Team.
Rating: 4 / 5
Pub with a traditional atmosphere. Booked lunch there in early November and didn't realise there was a rugby game taking place at the local club (we weren't going to the game), however the local crowd was friendly and gave the place a nice buzz. Staff were attentive and although there were quite a few dishes which were not available on the menu (which is main reason for not giving 5 stars) the food was tasty and overall we enjoyed our time.
Rating: 5 / 5
A good Youngs pub. Always better when they have Youngs Special on (see edit below). Can't speak about the food because I use it as a pub, not a restaurant. Nice to sit outside in one of the spacious booths in the old stables where the dray horses used to be quartered. Inside space is very small and intimate. Staff constantly changing, but usually young and friendly. Ib sponse to owner: you are right, Special has been available consistently lately. Was a problem a year or so ago when it seemed to be off a lot. Could also have been my bad luck! I'll give you your full quota of stars for this and the fact that Young's pubs still manage to retain some atmosphere and get loyalty in return from locals, something other brewery owned pubs could learn from.
Rating: 5 / 5
Great little pub, plenty of character and great food and selection of beers and gin! Food was excellent, tasty and plentiful. Great coffee to finish. Price was so reasonable for West London. We will be back very soon!

Côte Barnes
21 Station Rd, London SW13 0LF, UK | Restaurant P: 020 3866 7764
Rating: 4.4 (370) Price Level:
Lovely addition to the area. I’ve been very impressed with the quality of food here. My partner has found that ingredients he has previously disliked, he now enjoys thanks to the dishes here. We’ve had to wait quite a while recently until we finally got to order our food, but that was a one off so far. Being from the South of France, it’s nice to have a french restaurant 2 mins from our home. The close location to the pond doesn’t just make for a lovely after meal walk, but also gave us the opportunity to see a swam family wanting to make dinner plans !
Rating: 5 / 5
THE place to go for a casual lunch or a special occasion in Barnes. They are always friendly, accommodating, and steak tartar is one of the best in town!
Rating: 4 / 5
Food is consistent with most Cotes. The service at this branch isn't as good as others. The waiters aren't on the ball regarding customers needs and are slow to take orders we find.(Happened most times we go) It's a bit of a draughty barn of a place and not really cosy. It's never as busy as it could be for such a good location so maybe other diners feel the same. We want it to succeed but it needs to be tackled by management to give it a shock in the arm.

373 Lonsdale Rd, London SW13 9PY, UK | Pub P: 020 8876 5241
Rating: 4.3 (898) Price Level:
I was genuinely impressed with the experience I had, from the moment I walked through the doors, I felt at ease straight away. The welcoming atmosphere immediately appeared, as the staff greeting me warmly. This place was more than just a pub; it had a relaxed and happy vibe, with a team of staff who genuinely enjoyed their work and friendly customers who added to the positive energy. Initially, we only planned to stop in for a drink, but after seeing the inviting lunch menu, we decided to stay for a meal. Based on the glowing reviews and captivating photos online, we travelled some distance, and I’m glad we did. I want to especially commend Craig, who went above and beyond to make our visit memorable. He offered us a lovely seat upstairs in the restaurant with a perfect view of the river—a stunning sight. Craig’s cheerful demeanour and attentive service made us feel truly welcome. He even walked me through the menu, ensuring I found the perfect dish despite my picky eating habits. The décor of the place was also exceptional, creating a calm and inviting atmosphere complemented by the lovely music. I’m already planning to bring friends for lunch here very soon. A big thank you to Craig for his outstanding service and the chef for the incredible food. This visit exceeded my expectations in every way.

We came for the Euros final and decided to have dinner too and booked for 630pm. Firstly I want to say service was exemplary from the time I booked to when we had to leave. Someone actually rang me to ask whether it was just dinner or just the Euros final and I said both and apparently it was to check whether we needed a view of the tv. I was very impressed! I then wanted triple cooked chips with aioli as a starter (not on the menu) which I’d had had a couple of years ago and the v polite and helpful server checked. I got my chips and I swear they made/provided the aioli! Since we had reserved a dinner booking we also got to order roast dinner with all the trimmings, which was decent and tasty. I asked for extra gravy and they were very generous with extra jugs. I did feed back the Eton Mess was out of balance with too much cream and I didn’t eat much of it and the excellent server (wish I knew his name!) offered to take it off the bill. All the staff were so polite and friendly. It’s not a sports pub/bar as the tv screens are not that large but we enjoyed the atmosphere. It’s a v nice pub and we will be going back.
