We came in for dinner as we were staying locally. The pub is a tradional pub and all the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was tasty and homemade. As a family of 4 we all had different meals and all enjoyed our food. Big portions and lots of flavour. We really enjoyed our time here.

Massive clean fresh room with nice shaped bath with shower.. I'll put a small video up of my room in a moment. It's easier! Parking to the rear. Had a goodnights sleep. Yesterday, I had a really nice pizza cooked in a stone oven Not sure what beer i was drinking. . Recommend stay. It's more expensive than premier inn and travel lodge, but it's worth the difference.

We booked two rooms for a trip with three teenage kids. The beds are very comfortable. Rooms clean and plenty of parking. The pub food was lovely. Pub classics as well as a selection of other stuff. We only had one meal there, wish we had more. Our bedroom only had a bath which was OK for us but could be annoying if you wanted a quick shower. No breakfast available but we were on holiday so went to the lobster pot at portland bill which has amazing views. Very good value as well.

Went in for an early supper. Very accommodating, lovely staff. Staff were happy to swap items on the menu. My son had the beef burger and enjoyed it. I had the buttermilk chicken burger - took a star off as it wasn't great, dry, thick, hard, inedible coating. I took it off and ate the chicken. Bit disappointing. But overall it's a nice place.

Hatch on the Harbour

The Old Fish Market, 1 Custom House Quay, Weymouth DT4 8BE, UK | Restaurant
P: Not available

Rating: 4.3 (128) Price Level:

Perfect seafood in a street food style. Table for two outside. Great menu balancing choice and simplicity. We had Scallops, half lobster, green beans and chips. Food quality was amazing. Atmosphere lovely by the harbour side on a busy sunny Sunday afternoon. We didn’t book so were lucky to catch a seat when we did. Service matched the street food vibe - pretty straightforward no airs and graces. There’s no loos here but that’s no problem, there’s public toilets just round the corner. Place is attached to a fishmonger which is brilliantly stocked - we bought some great looking mackerel to take home and enjoy.

A spontaneous and delicious supper on the harbour at Hatch. Whole lobster, barbecued to perfection and served with a generous bowl of fresh and homemade chips, and a lovely leaf, mango and pomegranate salad, washed down with a beer and a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. Reasonably priced (£30 for the lobster+chips+salad) and served with love and enthusiasm.

We had a delicous time at The Hatch today, stopping for lunch on our way about town. We thoroughly enjoyed every bite of our crab, lobster, scallops, and padron peppers! The view across the harbour from our table was idyllic, and we received a warm welcome and friendly, attentive service from Anna. We'll be back for sure!

Situated just by Weymouth Harbour, the small, cozy gazebo/terrace provided a delightful dining experience. The seafood was notably fresh, and the oysters, which stood out as the highlight of the meal, were exceptional. The fish and chips were well-prepared, boasting a perfectly crunchy exterior and tender interior. However, the lobster, although flavorful, was slightly overcooked. The scallops, unfortunately, were disappointingly tiny and lacked depth of flavor. Although these minor shortcomings, the overall meal was enjoyable, enhanced by the picturesque view and welcoming atmosphere.

The restaurant is good, foods are nice, oyster is fresh. But price a bit high and space is small, only 6-7 tables available.

We went to get ice-cream and discovered they did steak nights. You need to book in advance, but can book for same day. You can opt to sit in or let them know you'd like sit outside overlooking the sea. The fish was cooked well. The steaks were delicious, served on a hot stone to cook to your preference with a side plate to decant onto. We didn't have pudding but the options were waffles, sundaes and cakes. No corkage, so bring your own alcohol. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would go again.

The hot rock night is the best thing I've done in Weymouth recently. The courses are amazingly presented, promptly too. The starter was a generous portion of pate, not the spoonful you'd usually get at a restaurant. The fillet steak was so juicy, and cooking it yourself is something really fun and different too. The cheeseboard usually comes with sides, but upon request, I was served only cheese and crackers. All the cheeses were tasty, and all had character. The restaurant is a seaside cafe in the day, so do expect the stereotypical plastic tablecloth and sauce caddy, but it still is amazing. Getting to the restaurant is a bit of a pain, it's a giant sliding door down some stairs. I just knocked on the window because it looked closed, but all was good.

It was a little bit expensive for what you got and the Dorset apple cake was a little dry, luckily we had it warmed up plus the cream on the side helped. The place was tidy and the service was pleasant, of the weather is fine you can sit outside and take in the view of not there's plenty of seating inside.

Popped in for lunch before heading into the water gardens and so glad we did. We had jacket potatoes with cheese and chutney, with a side of coleslaw and salad, and a coffee and walnut cake too. The food was delicious and perfect for a light lunch to keep us going until dinnertime. Service was quick and the lady serving was lovely although due to an unavoidable incident one the other staff members had to rush off for an emergency meaning she was overworked. My partner being kind helped clear just a few of the tables and this lovely lady rewarded us with cream tea. Couldn't praise her highly enough as she made our day.

Small cafe attached to water garden. You don't need to pay for a garden ticket to use the cafe. The staff were friendly and the cafe very clean. Some interesting local artwork on the walls. A very nice lunchtime menu. I had a prawn sandwich that was served with a side salad and crisps. The cheese platter looked fabulous, served to the table next to us.

So, we went to this steakhouse on Tuesday. You know how much we love steaks, and they had this awesome promotion—the second steak was only a pound! We ordered the steak on stone, which was cool because we could cook it exactly how we wanted. It came with chips and salad, and it was all really good. The peppercorn sauce was a bit pricey at £3.50, but it was a big jug, so I guess that makes up for it. The atmosphere in the place was great. They had a TV showing the football, and the staff was super friendly and helpful. I'd definitely recommend going there. We spent a little over £40 for two steaks, a coke, a beer, and two peppercorn sauces.

The food was amazing, slow service but I appreciate the team were busy. We called for service twice and eventually followed our server to the bar. The food came surprisingly quickly. The dining area was dark, and the table was very sticky. Friendly staff, reasonably priced and generous portions.

**Highly Recommend The Carvery** We tried the carvery here today and we were not disappointed. We couldn't book online so chanced a walk-in. It was super busy (remembrance Sunday) but we were offered a table straight away. The staff were all lovely, friendly and efficient. The food was incredible. We both had a large carvery which came with the choice of 3 meats (beef, pork or gammon) and half a rotisserie chicken was put on the plate too. The cauliflower cheese was heavenly and all the veg was delicious. The roast potatoes were easily the best I have ever eaten and the gravy was perfect too. All in all a fantastic experience and we will definitely be returning when I cannot be bothered to do a Sunday roast. We are so pleased we no longer have to drive to Poole for Sunday dinner. The best carvery I have ever had, thank you 👍🏻

Booked a table for 4 people last night last night, May 24. Had a few drinks and some great food, whilst sat overlooking Weymouth harbour. The whole experience was great. Food was delicious, locally sourced haddock, oven baked was perfectly cooked, mexican burger was enormous, the manager was great. Good variety of food on the menu and a specials board as well. The pudding was so good that i forgot to take a picture of them, I do have a picture of what was left after we finished! believe me they were great! Reasonably priced with 3 scoops of ice cream at £3.50, less that a coffee in some places. We will definitely be coming back

Just called in for coffee as we were early for a funeral at the local crematorium. It was quite busy with people having lunch. The staff were really pleasant & helpful. The menu looked ok, pretty typical pub fare but looked substantial & customers seemed to be enjoying their chosen dish. Very reasonable prices. The car park was full but we found a space across the road. Toilets clean & well stocked with hand cleanser & toilet paper. Outside seating available. Several reserved tables inside so obviously a popular place.

This pub has the cheapest beers in the area. The food is good, nicely prepared with big portions and the staff are courteous and helpful. The pub could use more seating as they have a lot of large tables, so that leads to a lot of wasted seats. It's also a family friendly pub, so this means there can be a lot of children running around during big matches.
