Laura & Hana at Ambience Venue Styling UK (York) have become 'Friends of Thicket Priory', working with them on internal events as well as recommending them to our wonderful couples and event hosts. Laura and Hana always have a smile on their faces, I think that's what helps us get along well as we're such a smiley bunch too! From tables plans and place names, to the amazingly beautiful chair sashes we love seeing the 'Ambience Twist' throughout the venue!

Ambience York did the venue styling for our wedding at Bunny Hill and we can't recommend them enough. Laura and Hana were in touch a year before the wedding to talk through ideas and then kept regularly in touch in the weeks leading up to the wedding to make sure every detail was perfect. We had some ideas of how we wanted the venue to look and wanted to keep the styling simple and elegant with a white and green colour scheme - Laura and Hana took our vague ideas and made them a beautiful reality. Hana even went above and beyond to help us find a florist when we were struggling! The venue on the day looked absolutely stunning, we couldn't have asked for anything more perfect - thank you!

I just wanted to write a review after EXCEPTIONAL customer service I received from Gainsborough Giftware Ltd this week. A possible delay in picking and dispatching my order likely threatened the delivery arriving safely before I left the UK for a few weeks. I am a small client of Gainsborough but they kindly and professionally looked into my concerns and the result was the arrival of the delivery successfully before I left the country. I was made to feel that nothing was too much trouble. Companys that offer this level of care are few and far between nowadays. Thank you Gainsborough. I will be back for more stock.

I was lucky enough to get an appointment to pre book my Christmas stock for 2024, I’m so glad I went, even although it was a 5 hour drive away, the showroom set up is fantastic lots to see, ordering was so simple, everyone I met was so accommodating, I felt that they really appreciated the effort we made to get there, the Christmas stock is fantastic, something to suit everyone’s taste and the warehouse too! I’ll definitely be adding to my order! 5*

A Wedding Venue Like No Other… From the moment we drove up the driveway to Thicket Priory on our first visit, we knew we had found something truly special. Thicket is a wedding venue like no other – a stunningly beautiful location that also feels like home. It provided the most magical backdrop for our weekend celebration, having exclusive use of the venue for the entire weekend allowed us the time to create memories with our loved ones that we will cherish forever. Having separate spaces to host our guests on the Friday vs the wedding day on the Saturday was brilliant. Every single guest felt truly welcomed, with many commenting on how blown away they were by the venue. Becca and the whole team at Thicket are absolute superstars. Personable, creative and joyous - they ensured everything ran seamlessly behind the scenes. Nothing was too much trouble, and their attention to detail was second to none. From the planning process - where Becca was always on hand to guide us and answer questions - to the day itself, everything was utterly flawless. As our wedding fell on the 30th Nov / 1st Dec weekend, we also got to experience the added magic of Thicket's Christmas decorations. They were beautiful and added an extra layer of sparkle and magic. Each of the bedrooms felt luxurious - like they belong in a boutique hotel! Each has its own personality and quirks, which made assigning them to our guests a fun task. We cannot recommend Thicket Priory highly enough. The care, creativity, and passion of the team made our wedding weekend truly unforgettable. 5 stars could never be enough for Thicket Priory! We had the pleasure of getting married here on the 21st of December 2024 and couldn't have dreamed of a more perfect day. From the moment we walked into Thicket Priory and met the incredible Anna, we felt right at home. The venue itself is absolutely stunning, the attention to detail is truly like nowhere else around. Our ceremony was in the onsite chapel, which is just breathtaking and such a special, intimate space. Our wedding breakfast and evening reception was then held in the stunning ballroom, filled with so much natural light, it really is the perfect space for a wedding. The rooms all have a unique character and every single room is just beautiful, our guests absolutely loved them and with 35 rooms onsite, it meant almost all our guests could stay over which was so important to us. Aside from all the above, what makes Thicket Priory SO special is the incredible team behind it. Anna, our wedding coordinator was just unbelievable, she made every meeting feel like we were catching up with a friend and made the whole process an absolute joy and completely stress free. She truly goes above and beyond for her couples and we could not have felt in safer hands, all our guests also commented on how amazing she was! She is just a dream. Thicket priory made our dream wedding come true! The absolute perfect venue. From the moment of our first visit we knew it was the wedding venue for us. It has so much space for your closest family and friends to stay which was so important to us. The gardens are so beautiful and there are so many little touches that make the venue so perfect. The staff were just incredible and looked after us every step of the way. Every visit felt like visiting friends- chatting with a cup of tea! They answered all our silly questions and help plan every detail. They were very organised and were in constant communication with us leading up to the wedding. We loved every second of the weekend. All the staff were so kind and so helpful - they helped me enjoy every moment. Nothing was too much to ask. A special mention to Becks who was most incredible coordinator. From the moment we arrived she made us feel like VIPs. Our wedding was beautiful and everything ran seamlessly. She was so kind to my niece and even hit a present from the fairies for her to find. She helped prep her for walking down the aisle and teaching her to throw petals- this was a very special moment. All of our guests had a wonderful weekend and were made to feel so welcome. From the first meeting Thicket priory told us they wanted it to feel like our home for the weekend - and this is the perfect description of how it felt!! We could not have dreamed of a better venue than Thicket Priory. As soon as we took the tour, we struggled to imagine getting married anywhere else. The building and the grounds are so stunning – they strike the perfect balance between grandiose beauty and home comforts. However, we have to say that it was all the little magical details that really made it for us. We were already thinking about theming the wedding around the fantasy books that we both love but seeing what Thicket had to offer really solidified this idea. We drove home from that viewing buzzing with excitement. From the moment we committed, we were never disappointed. Many other reviews have pointed out that what really makes the difference at this venue is the way you are treated throughout the process and how helpful and organised all the staff are. This was definitely our experience as well. Anna was superb throughout and made us feel like we were in safe hands at all times. Planning a wedding can be very stressful so it was wonderful to have someone so calming on hand and to be reassured that all the ‘boring’ details were being dealt with and that we could concentrate on whatever elements we were most enthusiastic about. She also gave us quite a few ideas that we incorporated into the weekend, such as the wedding newspaper which we really enjoyed writing and went down a treat with guests. The weekend itself went totally smoothly. We picked several vendors from the friends of Thicket list and they all did a great job. A lot of guests commented on the venue staff in particular and how it really did feel like fairies were magically sorting everything around us without ever being seen. Everyone felt relaxed and well-cared for. Minor issues like swapping of rooms or getting an extra glass of alcohol-free prosecco for a bridesmaid were dealt with easily and with minimal fuss. Many people told us it was the best wedding they had ever been to and that they wanted to steal the venue for themselves! We are very grateful to Anna, Lil and the rest of the team for the care and effort they put into our big day. We’d like to thank Anna most of all for her kindness and compassion. It felt like talking to an old friend in the planning meetings. We really appreciated that she was totally unphased by organising a wedding for two brides or by Alyssa’s transition, which had barely started before we took our tour of the venue. From the moment we introduced ourselves, Anna confidently walked us through everything without any awkwardness or struggling to adapt the tour to the needs of two brides, which was not the case at other venues we visited. It really was a dream to find a venue where we could focus on making our wedding all about joy and happiness without feeling like we were a problem to work around. Our wedding at Bunny Hill was nothing short of perfect. From the first time we visited to the morning after, we were treated as the most special people on earth. All our guests said it was the best wedding they've ever been to, and that's a complete testament to the Bunny Hill team! Special shout out to Sallyanne who was an absolute machine - nothing phased her and it meant we could fully relax and enjoy our day! We're slowly getting over the post-wedding blues and settling in to married life, but we can't wait to be back at Bunny Hill soon for another special occasion! Would recommend this venue to anyone - a truly incredible place and an even more incredible team.

We had the most magical wedding day at Bunny Hill, and can’t thank them enough! Bunny Hill was the only venue we viewed, as after having a look around it ticked every box for us - plenty of private on site accommodation, a private venue for a full weekend, stunningly presented even without added decor, the list goes on! We are so grateful to all the staff, but especially our co-ordinator Sallyanne - even our guests commented on how brilliant she was! On the day, I was relaxed and didn’t have to think about anything as Sallyanne and the Bunny Hill team handled it all, something I didn’t expect to feel as the bride! They personalise the whole experience for you, and all of the small details really make a huge difference (such as personalised cocktails!). Our daughter was married at Bunny Hill on 4 April. We looked at several venues beforehand but Bunny Hill just blew us away….it really is in a league of its own. The venue is spacious and so well designed. The staff are all amazing…so friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble and our wedding planner Lucy Witton was brilliant. The food was absolutely first class, all of the guests remarked on how good it was. The bar was very well stocked and very comfortable. A big advantage of Bunny Hill is the accommodation…so clean and well furnished. Over 30 of the wedding party stayed over on the night before and the night of the wedding. I really can’t recommend this venue highly enough…you certainly won’t be disappointed and don’t even think about booking anywhere else until you’ve seen Bunny Hill for yourself!

Bunnyhill is nothing short of amazing! After our very first meeting with Paul 2 years ago, we knew Bunnyhill was the one and looked no further. Our wedding day was perfect and ran seamlessly from start to finish. The venue is so beautiful and has such a lovely feel about it with lots of different areas for guests to mingle. The organisation of the team is excellent and nothing was ever too much trouble running up to the big day and on the day it’s self. Sallyanne our co ordinator was amazing throughout the process and helped with every step of the way. We couldn’t have wished for a better wedding day and wish we could do it all over again! Oaktree Farm was THE perfect venue for our wedding! We knew we wanted something unique and it absolutely didn't disappoint. The South African Stretch Tent was so different to wedding venues we'd been to in the past. It really helped us pull off the rustic, laid back, fun filled style we were hoping to achieve. As well, it was a beautiful location; right in the middle of the countryside (perfect for photos!). So many of our guests commented on how amazing the venue was! Unfortunately, living in the UK, rain is often a reality, and the weather wasn't on our side on the day! But it didn't seem to dampen the day at all. The tent remained fully water tight, warm, and there was so much space for our guests to enjoy the atmosphere. Dan and Natalie - the owners - were so great to work with. They were so flexible and accommodating; always going the extra mile to make things work for us. They were on hand at all times to make sure we were happy and they were just so friendly and kind. We loved working with them!

My (now) wife and I had the most incredible day at Oaktree Farm, every aspect our wedding with them was perfect. From the moment we emailed to ask for a viewing of the venue on a weekday evening, through to the day itself, the team were so accommodating and helpful, always on the other end of the phone or email with suggestions of how we might be able to incorporate our ideas into our big day. Their knowledge of how best to facilitate gorgeous weddings was incredible, combined with an extensive list of known and trusted vendors (but also open to new vendor). On the day itself the team were awesome, everyone was so nice, professional and helpful, and there was always someone on hand to make sure everything went smoothly (shout out to Natalie!). The venue itself is absolutely stunning, every one of our guest commented on how beautiful it was, and how the stretch tent was the perfect fit for a summer wedding. We really can't recommend Oaktree enough, with a beautiful backdrop that makes for the most amazing photos, and a small team that run the venue making your whole journey of wedding planning so much easier, you will not regret choosing them to host your most important day.

We got married at Oak Tree in August. It was a perfect day and the staff could not have done more for us to ensure that it was just that. Communication from going to arrange a viewing was spot on, and the amount of service and support given in the build up and on the day was amazing. It’s the most amazing venue. Every single one of our guests commented on how fantastic it was, how friendly and helpful the staff were and how stunning the set up was. It made for excellent photos and amazing memories. A very laid back, relaxed environment to have your big day with staff that make sure you have nothing to worry about when the day comes around. It’s left us trying to work out if we can think of excuses to have another celebration there!

Where do we even begin? We found you in a moment of sheer panic when we needed a new venue and instantly we knew you were the right fit for us within seconds of meeting you all and instantly put us at ease and reassured us that there are good people out there and your venue was even better than the original option so it worked out for the best. You have all been so welcoming, friendly and professional from the first look around to the second we left on the Sunday morning and your passion for what you do shines through in everything. Our guests spent all day singing your praises and commenting on how beautiful your venue is and have continued to do so since which we can 1000% reiterate. You made the whole process so effortless and enjoyable and it felt like visiting old friends when we spoke with you all. You made us feel so special and as though we were the only couple you have ever worked with (despite you doing this every day). The little touches were so special and added to the magic on the day. Everything happened so seamlessly on the day and everything seemed to just appear or work without us even noticing - what you have is something truly remarkable. We would just like to give a special mention to Nicola who is an absolute credit to you all. From the first email to saying goodbye on on the night, she has been so friendly, organised and an absolute asset. Our guests absolutely loved you and have continued to say how wonderful you were. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for everything you have done for us and especially for dancing with us to Wonderwall right at the end of the night! It’s a memory we will cherish forever. Words just fail us and honestly this doesn’t even come close to showing or explaining how grateful we are to have found you but I’m not sure we can ever find the words for that. Thank you, thank you, thank you for everything and for always going above and beyond for your couples during what at times has been quite stressful!

I can't thank Katharine and her team enough, their marquees are stunning and it absolutely made our wedding day. There is always something (apparently) that doesn't quite go to plan on a wedding day but this was not one of them, the whole experience was stress free, professional and a dream. I can't recommend Peacock and Bow enough, they won't disappoint. It was worth every penny and I would not hesitate to book them again for an event.

Incredible! Olivia and I used peacock and bow for our wedding marquee and it was amazing! Everyone couldn’t believe the quality of the marquee and how beautiful It was! Katherine and team were brilliant from start to finish and the detail that goes into their work is incredible. Will use for any future events and recommend to anyone needing a marquee!

Katharine and her team at Peacock and Bow really made our wedding day on 6th May 2023 extra special. We had two marquees and they looked absolutely stunning. They were also brilliant because we had pouring rain and they kept our guests warm and dry! We had a really wonderful wedding day thanks to Hazel. We had to reorganise our wedding 5 times because of the pandemic but she made sure that we had the most relaxing day possible and was there to sort and support with absolutely everything. Hazel made our wedding wonderful. We would definitely recommend to get married here as we really loved our woodland wedding. It couldn't have gone any smoother!

As a wedding photographer whenever you pull up at Hirst Priory you know you are in for a wonderful day run by Hazel and her amazing team. Whether it be an outdoor woodland wedding or a more formal indoor ceremony Hirst Priory has it all covered. The newly renovated bedrooms are also possibly the best we have ever seen at a Wedding Venue and provide a perfect setting to start the day during bridal prep. We cannot recommend Hirst Priory highly enough, quite simply one of the best venues around

Lovely place we visited for valentines day in the vaults, it was a perfect setting with champaign and a 3 course meal, with a violinist playing in the background throughout, would highly recommend this place for a perfect valentines night, book your tickets early though!

Very nice location and drinks are reasonably priced. One 'MAJOR' fault is that there is no exterior lighting from the entrance door and could cause anybody to fall walking back to the car park in the evening......needs addressing!
