We have been using Oliver James for years, and have been very happy with service. Roger and the team do a fantastic job, bringing issues to our attention and asking if we have any concerns or specific jobs that we would like them to do. They are incredibly reliable and pleasant and I would highly recommend them.

We cannot fault Oliver James and his team. Their work is of the highest standard and they are really great to have around. Marvin our Staffie particularly enjoyed them being here. We are so incredibly happy with our garden transformation and would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending them. Here are a few before and after pictures.

Oliver James Landscapes have been totally reliable. Their work is very neat and they tidied up afterwards. They listened to what I wanted and really thought about what would be best for my garden. The finished result exceeded my expectations. For example, the trellis they installed is very attractive and the way they propped up soil (on a higher level) is neat and effective. It is obvious that they take pride in their work. I also liked the fact that James and Oliver were cheerful, friendly and approachable. (I sometimes heard their cheerful laughter, while they were working!)

I wanted a simple scheme for my garden, but was unsure as to what plants to buy and how to make everything look put together. I secured the services of Oliver James, who found to be brilliant. Once I’d given them my brief, I left it totally up to them. They delivered on everything and I am totally happy.

Phil has helped us with a couple of garden projects now, and we can wholeheartedly recommend his services. Phil and his excellent team completely transformed our front and rear gardens over the course of several months this year. The original garden we inherited with the house was a blank canvas and in need of complete replacement. We were very lucky to find Phil to turn the designs into reality. He is a huge joy to work with - a really courteous, professional, knowledgeable, friendly and creative person who cares deeply about delivering the best he can. The project was fairly involved, including stone and brickwork, irrigation, extensive installation of mature hedging, bedding, topiary, large trees, a large gravel garden, moving the front access and building new entrance pillars with inlaid flint and much more. Its impressive the range of skills he and his team bring to the project - for instance they constructed from scratch beautiful new cedar fencing and gates, all done by hand on site. The inlaid setts and brickwork that Phil did painstaking over several days is a work of art. His knowledge of plants and all things horticultural is first rate and its good to know that everything is installed with care and attention Projects like these inevitably have unexpected turns and Phil was extremely adept at reacting quickly and creatively to issues and coming up with smart solutions. I would highly recommend Phil - he transformed our dejected looking front garden into a very lovely space. I had some idea of what I wanted and Phil was very careful to listen and understand my vision. He was reliable and good value for money as well as being a thoroughly nice person!

Really pleased with Topia. I had a few jobs in the garden; digging in a bark play area on the lawn and planting a new laurel hedge line on a previously scrappy border. Phil was round to quote quickly after contact, gave a great price for the work, then did the services whilst minimising any disruption. His team were always professional and diligent, helping us make decisions and adapting as the work progressed. I'd highly recommend them for landscaping jobs.

Steve and the boys worked tirelessly from 9 am to 3 pm and cleared up at the end. They were courteous and professional at all times and did a great job of tidying up a whole range of trees and bushes. Their quote was extremely reasonable and they did as they were asked to the letter. A first class job!

We approached Sam at Chiltern Garden Design to help us completely rethink the garden we had inherited when we bought our property in 2020. The space was a blank canvas and needed real creativity and careful thought to turn it into an interesting and attractive space to entertain, play outdoors and enjoy for our family. Right from first contact Sam was an absolute joy to work with. She was attentive and thorough in understanding our vision for the garden and the creativity she applied to the design was fabulous. She incorporated our ideas but built on them and took them in directions we never would have considered. Incredible attention to detail and a deep understanding of everything to do with plants and gardens, lighting and materials, all came together to produce a wonderful design. Sam then guided us step by step through interviewing and selecting a landscaping firm to construct the garden and was hugely hands on throughout the build process, helping us chose materials, solve problems and navigate what is a complex and lengthy process. She is always available for questions and concerns, and we really felt like she was there to help at every step of the journey, not just the design phase. Her love of plants and incredible knowledge continue to prove invaluable now that the garden is installed and we are very happy in the knowledge that she will continue to guide us as the garden matures. We have hugely enjoyed working with Sam and are looking forward to continuing to do so. The garden is fabulous, far better than we could have hoped. We are very lucky to have found Sam and would not hesitate to recommend Chiltern Garden Design to anyone looking for the very best they can achieve for their garden.

If you invest so much money in your house, then to add a little more to get your garden designed the way you would like it, is well worth it. Sam will work on any budget, and mine was very low. I purchased a "new build", and the garden consisted of grass, some patio slabs and a small shed. I couldn't visualise easily, as I had lived in an apartment previously, and had little gardening experience. She listened to all my desires, Gazebo, entertaining terrace, plunge pool, waterfall, outside shower, raised beds, Silver Birch trees, meadow grass, … you wouldn't believe how long the list was. I wanted inside/outside living. All on a small plot … quite ridiculous when I think of it now. She was so calm when I was spouting all my wild ideas. She came back with a design that was beautiful, but there were parts I was unsure of, where was my plunge pool? But … I trusted her judgement, and she then proceeded to chase and obtain quotes from landscapers, giving them detailed specifications. I shouldn't have had any concerns. My dreams were far too wild for the size of garden, and small budget that I had, and Sam adapted my dream into a feasible reality. I hadn't considered the clay soil, where the sun rose and set, types of planting required for these conditions, top soil, beautiful patio stone, but Sam did. I am so happy with the result, and Sam has already contacted me about bulbs for next season. She also gave me a maintenance guide for all my plants, including pictures of weeds for me to recognise. Sam has created the perfect garden for "me", the amateur gardener, and I love it. I couldn't be happier!

They designed the water saving garden that after winning a bronze medal at RHS Chelsea Flower Show, was installed in the heart of our centre. The garden is so perfect it's as if it had been designed especially for us and the whole experience was brilliant. I started working with Sam at the start of my home renovation. I knew that my garden needed a complete revamp so I wanted to make sure that i did it all properly rather than as afterthought. Very early on in our discussions it became clear that Sam was able to translate my vague ideas and ramblings into a beautiful design which somehow reflected everything I wanted but wasn’t sure I could articulate. Her design was bold and creative and definitely something I would never have been able to do myself. I followed her plan to the letter and I am thrilled with the outcome. They were more than able to advise on varying ways they could achieve the best possible outcome which turned out to be more aesthetically pleasing to the eye than my own input. What surprised me was the way the company was structured, which was very professional and well-organized from top to bottom. What gave me confidence was the fact that Dixon Landscaping had grown its business over thirty years from father to son. Both should be proud of the company's present position. Had my pond serviced recently by Marc good guy ,had to change the filter and clean the pump on my Oase 20000 in the pouring rain,he was very professional just got his large brolly up and got on with it ,most impressed. Will use again.

We used Dixons Landscapes to advise on how best to protect our privacy from a proposed housing development at the end of our garden. Jason Dixon understood our requirements completely and came up with ideas on how best to do this. The possible solutions were discussed and Jason was very happy to accompany us to a tree supplier to view the various types of trees and bushes that could be used. The implementation of the plan went very well and the team who carried out the work were very professional. The work was done faultlessly. Jason followed up afterwards to make sure we were happy with everything and to make sure the watering system worked properly and that we knew how to operate this. The end result was an immediate improvement that we are very happy with.

Matt is a wonderful personable gardener who I have been using for years. He’s what I would call “the gardener’s gardener”! Extremely knowledgeable, competent and hardworking. There is never a job he’s not able to do and his rates are fantastic. Could not recommend more!

We are thrilled with the job Mow and Go did for us. We asked him to lay decking and put up a trellis around 2 sides for privacy. Matt and Adam worked tirelessly for 4 days and we are really pleased with the result, very professional. It looks fantastic and we can't wait to spend many hours outdoors. Brilliant gardening company, professional,solution focused and creative,efficient, great with customers. I have employed Matt and his wonderful team to work on a large private development of 35 properties with extensive grounds. Overnight he worked his magic and turned a tired looking unkempt estate into a wow factor for residents. Stripey lawns , neat edges, shrubs shaped and neatly trimmed, beds weeded perfectly. His knowledge is extensive and there is nothing that phases Matt. It's a dream team here, residents have never been so happy. He has many ideas to continually make improvements. I would highly recommend Matt for any gardening requirements.

Matt did a fantastic decking project for me which came out brilliantly. We worked together and made the most of a tricky space. We visited today as part of a large group on a stopover on our way to a local attraction. I was very pleased with our visit to the garden centre. The cafe is very impressive, and despite a large crowd, we had a minimal wait for our food and drinks. Lots of explore and look at.

Lovely garden centre with lovely views. Huge selection of flowers and garden furniture and some lovely trinkets, gifts etc. Cafe is also up to a good standard. Food is not astonishing but great.
