What an unexpectedly delightful experience! We were staying near the gardens for Easter and thought we'd pop by for a quick visit. Little did we realise what a treat lay in store for us. It really was like having a private tour of a National Trust property - incredible gardens to roam around with our two kids (lakes, woodlands, formal gardens and more), the astonishingly atmospheric church (which is a real taste of Italy hidden in rural Dorset), diverse birdlife, and the chance to chat about the property with two of the lovely, accessible, friendly and knowledgeable gardeners. We couldn't recommend a visit to Chideock Manor Gardens highly enough. Thank you, Dierdre, Heather and Phil - we feel very spoilt indeed!

We found this place by chance and what a fantastic find it was. After speaking with the owner on the phone to see if we could visit we were then met by a lovely gardener who explained where we could go. Connected to the manor is a small church which is also worth visiting and provides a great backdrop to parts of the garden. Everywhere you turn there is something of interest, and there is a lovely sense of this being a lived in place and not just a show piece. This is a place worth visiting at any time of the year and there are plenty of spots to enjoy a flask or a picnic!

My friend and I spent a delightful morning wandering around these beautiful gardens which we had all to ourselves! We enjoyed the peace and diversity of the grounds and the warm welcome and helpfulness of the garden staff. Highly recommended.

Superb gardens with many planting ideas on a huge canvas. We were here with some of my many siblings and some history fanatics so this turned into a perfect day. Our hostess fascinated with her own family stories and history. We could have stayed forever! Thank you Dierdre for your time and vision and letting us into your lovely garden. My family spent a wonderful afternoon wandering the gardens. The children played and really enjoyed exploring the woodland, walking round the lake and looking in the old church. My wife and I loved the beautiful scenery and the very well kept gardens and enjoyed the whole experience. Additionally, we met several members of staff (gardeners, etc) who were incredibly friendly and informative and really added to our positive experience. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Delighted with work done by Ben and his team of Sam, Josh and Ruben which included, inter alia, adding extra 18ins of gravel boards to bottom of back fence to keep out badgers and moles and then add membrane & mulch to suppress weeds; sanding down and oiling garden table, chairs and recliners and removing two very large and unsightly shrubs with more work booked in for next week. Always arrive on time, work hard and efficiently all day with minimal breaks thru any weather and tidy up afterwards. Great advice from Ben who has impressed me with his knowledge, paperwork and installing a great esprit de corps amongst his team who are a joy to have around. Highly recommended and delighted with myself for finding them !!

Really excellent experience with Ben, Josh & Sam bringing my untamed garden back under control for the winter. A lot of hedge-trimming and shaping needed, together with fruit trees to be smartly pruned, lawn mowing and general clearing out of dead stuff and weeding. Working very efficiently over a couple of days, they transformed the garden back to how it should have been and it's now a pleasure to look at again. The guys were all very pleasant to have around, hard-working, no fuss, and communication both on the day and in the lead up to the visit was also excellent which was appreciated. I've no hesitation in recommending this company.

Josh and Sam arrived promptly and immediately set to work trimming various bushes and shrubs. They are a great team and are very amenable and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they are conscientious and meticulous in whatever they do, particularly with their clearing up afterwards. Great to have around and our two dogs fell in love with them! Highly recommended and we would definitely use Ben Gooding Gardens again.

Marc and the team did a fantastic job installing decking at the top of our steep garden. The work was of the highest quality, including an impressive structure with posts, and steps with handrail up to the decking. The team were professional, friendly and communicated well. Our driveway fence and gate needed replacing due to age and repeated battering from the recent storms. Marc provided a competitive quote and went on to complete the job quickly, efficiently and to a very high standard. Friendly, approachable and professional, Marc also went above and beyond, organising a skip at short notice and clearing our rotten decking from the side of the house. They were also very considerate of our property and even went to the effort of safely securing a large unexpected delivery in our absence. Communicative throughout, we were also provided with a certificate to prove that the waste was disposed of properly. We recommend 100% and would definitely use MSW Landscaping again.

I have used Marc at Msw Landscaping many times in the past 11 years and have always been delighted with the quality of his workmanship and his excellent customer service. Marc has installed a very large area of composite decking, including a raised upper level and handrail. Following the building of an extension to our house, we decided that our large garden needed designing and restructuring. After a lot of research we decided to ask Tony Benger Landscaping to take on the project. We are very pleased that we did. Our initial meeting was with Angela and Shane, who talked us through the design process and made good suggestions about procedure and how our vision for the garden could be best achieved. The work started on time and, to be honest, it was a pleasure having them all with us. Dan, Kate, Tom and others were hardworking, cheerful and polite (in all weathers!) They took pride in their work and went the extra mile by helping us with a few extra tasks that came up on the way. Ryan was always on hand to answer questions and to come out to us to sort out any problems (there were very few). Communication throughout the project was very good, kept us well informed and at all times we felt confident about the work that was being done. We now have a garden to be proud of and to enjoy. Our neighbours have been very impressed and complimentary about the finished garden, and also about the politeness and attention to detail and care that all the workers showed. Well done all of you! We recently had a couple of gardening jobs done at our holiday let property, including replacement sleepers for a raised bed. Nick, Fabian and Tyler all did a great job with great communication backed up with before, during and after photos which was particularly helpful as we are not local. They even took away some old garden furniture for us - a much appreciated added bonus!

The 15 year-old wooden fence surrounding our small garden had started to rot, was bulging from an excess of foliage resting against it , had begun to warp and despite valiant attempts to paint and preserve the wood, I was only putting off the inevitable as the fence really was in need of repair - if not total replacement. Given its position in the centre of the development, the fence needed to be assembled to a better standard than my own DIY skills would allow and so the project to have it re- built professionally was born. I trawled the advertisements in the usual places and got a feel for who was offering the services we needed. I was shocked at the price of wood. Once I realised that the cost would vastly exceed my own original estimate, I knew I’d need help from an established company and one that had a proven track record of quality of service. The recommendation to consider approaching TBL came from our local Chamber of Commerce and Mark came round to get an initial idea of what the work would entail. I had no hesitation at accepting TBL’s quotation and was surprised at how quickly the job could be scheduled. To keep costs down, I offered to remove the old fence myself. An introduction to Ryan - who would be a great project manager enabled Mark to iron out any concerns I had about the work and he also arranged for me to meet with Fabian, who would be crafting the fence on site. The building of the fence took just 6 days. Fabian and Tyler worked in all weathers to get everything done - helped along the way by Matt and Dan. It really was a pleasure having the team around the house and the finished product looks fabulous. It was quite the privilege to witness first hand, some really marvellous skills. I run a professional tourism business and have relied on Benger Landscaping to look after my camp site, holiday accommodations and other grounds for many years. This is a thoroughly professional company who have the latest machinery such as American Scag mowers for a speedy job. I am always impressed with the professionalism of the staff, especially Alex, who is always punctual, polite and swift. His knowledge is tremendous and a great asset to the company. Should I need additional assistance I can rely upon my account manager Mark to give expert guidance. It's always reassuring to deal with a local company who will go the extra mile to ensure I am satisfied with the work carried out including a regular check by the account manager of the properties involved. I find it very important when dealing with the public that I use a company that is property insured. They carry out regular H&S assessments of the jobs they undertake, their staff have relevant certification when undertaking dangerous work such as tree surgery with chain saws & hedge cutters and that all pesticides are legal and compliant on land. I would not hesitate to recommend this exceptionally well run firm - whose proprietor is always on hand if needed.
