Joshua and his team are so professional and trustworthy. Dave, lovely guy, laid our new patio and Jake was on hand to help with maintaining our borders and installing new edging. They left everything really tidy and were professional and polite. We are delighted with our garden transformation! Would highly recommend Minster Maintenance! Thank you to Joshua and his team!

Josh and the team were really helpful and reliable. They removed and disposed of our old slippery decking and laid a great patio area and steps to the garden. They identified unknown issues and always came up with practical solutions. The old fencing was replaced with new panels and flower bed tidied. Very pleased with the work and happily recommend them.

Excellent service from Minster Maintenance. Special thanks to Luke and Mike who worked tirelessly over two days to cut back and prune some very high and long hedges in two gardens and a shared lane serving four properties. Very polite and helpful. Arrived on time and cleared everything away. Great job!

Superb gardens with many planting ideas on a huge canvas. We were here with some of my many siblings and some history fanatics so this turned into a perfect day. Our hostess fascinated with her own family stories and history. We could have stayed forever! Thank you Dierdre for your time and vision and letting us into your lovely garden. We had the best day to end our holiday in Chideock. Deb

What an unexpectedly delightful experience! We were staying near the gardens for Easter and thought we'd pop by for a quick visit. Little did we realise what a treat lay in store for us. It really was like having a private tour of a National Trust property - incredible gardens to roam around with our two kids (lakes, woodlands, formal gardens and more), the astonishingly atmospheric church (which is a real taste of Italy hidden in rural Dorset), diverse birdlife, and the chance to chat about the property with two of the lovely, accessible, friendly and knowledgeable gardeners. We couldn't recommend a visit to Chideock Manor Gardens highly enough. Thank you, Dierdre, Heather and Phil - we feel very spoilt indeed!

My family spent a wonderful afternoon wandering the gardens. The children played and really enjoyed exploring the woodland, walking round the lake and looking in the old church. My wife and I loved the beautiful scenery and the very well kept gardens and enjoyed the whole experience. Additionally, we met several members of staff (gardeners, etc) who were incredibly friendly and informative and really added to our positive experience. Cannot recommend highly enough.

My friend and I spent a delightful morning wandering around these beautiful gardens which we had all to ourselves! We enjoyed the peace and diversity of the grounds and the warm welcome and helpfulness of the garden staff. Highly recommended.

We found this place by chance and what a fantastic find it was. After speaking with the owner on the phone to see if we could visit we were then met by a lovely gardener who explained where we could go. Connected to the manor is a small church which is also worth visiting and provides a great backdrop to parts of the garden. Everywhere you turn there is something of interest, and there is a lovely sense of this being a lived in place and not just a show piece. This is a place worth visiting at any time of the year and there are plenty of spots to enjoy a flask or a picnic!

Paul provides a highly professional service. Within a few hours, two or three times a year, he manages to transform our unruly courtyard garden into a much neater and tidier space- whilst imparting lots of advice and knowledge about plants and gardening. It’s a real pleasure to learn from him. He has also helped me repot large houseplants and taken me to garden centres to bulk buy- probably way beyond the remit of most gardening services. I can’t recommend him highly enough.

I can't say enough lovely things about Paul who has been trimming my front hedges and other shrubs for many years. Not only is he a great gardener but a lovely chap too. Always punctual, professional, tidy and does an amazing job with my hedges. I planted a cutting from my Dad's fuchsia with the hope it would grow through the hedge which it has done beautifully. Paul takes great care in shaping the hedge around the fuchsia as since my Dad has passed it reminds me of him everytime I go out my front door and Paul knows it means a lot to me. Thank you paul.

Rating: 4.5 (8) Price Level:

We've used Steve Cheese for some years now, and I think our garden looks great (even if I do say so myself!). Last year, we had a BIG family birthday / garden party and Steve helped us get the garden into tip-top shape for that. Steve also cuts the hedges every year and does a great job. Steve's knowledge of plants has been a godsend. If you want the best, I can heartily recommend Steven for a regular service.

Stephen has a first class work ethic, no corners cut, everything completed to an exceptionally high standard. I’d have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone, a real pleasure.

Stephen is an experienced gardener who has a good eye for seeing what needs to be done. His experience also makes him very efficient with the time spent. My garden is looking so much healthier and happier since he came along to take care of it.

An excellent gardener with a star qualities. His work ethic and personable nature are head and shoulders above the rest. Stephen is a qualified horticulturalist with exceptional plant knowledge and experience. Many times we have gone to him for advice. Garden maintenance is just the start as he will help you in the greenhouse/nursery, choosing the right plants for your garden and produce fresh veg.

We have found Steve very helpful in completely managing our garden for us. He "just gets on with it" and offers great advice on what plants to put where and when to do it. He always lets us know what day and at what time he will be coming and replies promptly to any queries we may raise. His work ethic is amazing, but will gratefully accept a cup of builders tea, if offered. All in all, we are totally pleased with everything he has done for us and would confidentially recommend him to anyone looking for a gardener.

The entrance is just off of the roundabout. There is a cafe inside plus a little drinks and food kiosk outside within the gardens. This is one of the most well presented garden centres I've ever been in. The outside area is large, and it feels like you're walking through tropical gardens. A great selection of everything you need.. There is a homeware section, although it's not that big, this garden centre is all about the outside, be it sheds, plants or wooden furniture. Pet area inside. Well worth a visit.

Lovely garden centre, independent and family owned, with certainly a different feel to the bigger chains. Huge choice in all areas and well stocked. Many things I haven't seen elsewhere and I will be back for an apricot and a peach tree when I have a chance. A lovely cafe restaurant as well. I would definitely recommend
