Pins changed once a week, bunkers raked everyday, greens mowed everyday. Can get windy on top of ridgeway with lovely views over Weymouth to the south and Dorchester and north Dorset to the north. Friendly and welcoming members and staff. Home of the Ryder cup, go and have a great game of golf

Even though the weather was against us , the wind was howling helping soak us we had a great day ! The course was in excellent condition. Some very difficult holes especially with the conditions I would definitely recommend having a round of golf here. The staff and members were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. Definitely will be back for another round soon, hopefully without the sad weather.

A good friend and I travelled to play an open competition at Sherborne recently. Not only was the course in good condition, but the staff made us feel very welcome and appreciated. Even the captain made time to introduce himself and make us feel at home. This course will ask questions of anyones game, regardless of ability. If you’re thinking about visiting, then book yourself in, you won’t be disappointed. Thank you to all concerned.

A very friendly welcome from the pro shop on arrival with a good hearty breakfast in the clubhouse with a warm welcome. Weather conditions were overcast with a good downpour after 15 holes, but this did not stop us having a good days golf ⛳️. The course was heavy under foot from the previous day’s ☔️ rain but the fairways were nice to play off if played clean off the preferred lies, as for the greens they are very fast for November and very true. All in all a good away day worth a trip 👍

Such a lovely golf club, came here to practice our swing (not very experienced golfers). The range is beautiful and you can hit off real grass, a useful experience when you're a beginner. The putting/pitching course is amazing. Visited the gold shop to look around and the service was really friendly, didn't feel out of place. Wish I was good enough to go out on the green, must be amazing.

Played it in early Oct., course was brilliant, ocean view on several of the holes, rolling hills, sheep & livestock in the backdrop. Course didn't really look that hard, but with the wind it sure did play that way. Lots of deep rough to avoid, a few stone walls to avoid, greens were in good condition. Will definitely want to play again when back over next year. Worth the trip.

Warm welcome, fab breakfast and service (we’ll forget the coffee spillage lol). Great course in excellent condition, tight fairways with some challenging par 3s, the signature 8th is great! Greens ran well and are all challenging in various degrees. And what about the views. A gem of a course, for £30… bargain! Will return!

First visit, very impressed with the facilities, loved the 6th hole and the course location on the coast. The stunning weather enhanced our experience. The only negative is the risk to the general public/walkers.

Our first ever round at BWDGC, and I have to say that the course was fantastic. Spectacular views, some outstanding holes, especially the 6th, and it was in great condition. A very warm welcome from the staff on arrival and everybody could not have been friendlier. Everyone we spoke to during the day, including other golfers, made our visit most memorable. I would definitely recommend a trip to all golfers, and I hope to visit again someday.

Very popular little coastal harbour. Lots of coming and going of trawlers. Usually a good few motorcycles arriving to have a look at, many seats placed around. A good few places to eat and drink, brilliant kiosks, and lovely local pubs. The local bus service goes to some beautiful places, but is very infrequent, and can be extremely busy. Very steep coastal path walks, but what a view from the top.

Fresh clean air coming across the pond.. Beautiful little visitors centre for the kids . On the way in I talk too the cows. My grandfather was a dairy farmer nearby.. And pick a few wild flowers .. Too give away too anybody having a bad day. Known as the ginger nut kid.. But mostly flowers. See picture. Dad loved his allotment. And mum complained of him Bringing it home Manure as well.. But as with dad, grandad ,I'm the same.. Only took happy with dirty hands.

West Bay of "Broadchurch" fame is a lovely seaside town. It has a beautiful harbour and beach with dramatic cliffs. There's plenty of places to eat, all good. There is a general store with very friendly staff and an interesting antiques emporium My favourite place was sitting near the harbour, early morning, with a very decent coffee from "Rachels" one of the food huts nearby.

Lovely golf venue with 3 9 hole courses, all 3 are a good challenge and normally in really good condition. Pro shop is well stocked and the staff are friendly. The clubhouse is large and has ample seating inside and out, good range of beers and Cider, food is also spot on. Across the road they have a large trackman equipped driving range which is great for warming up before a round.

We stayed in a lodge which was spacious and well equipped. Just a short walk to the restaurant and facilities at the clubhouse. Indoor short mat bowls, and what looked like a good golf course although we didn't use it

Just returned from a one night and two round stay. We had an enjoyable time and the golf course was in superb condition. All three 9’s were a challenge in their own way. All staff were very helpful and the bar staff in particular kept the bar open late in the evening for us, thanks for that. Only negative was the Halfway House was shut both days and during peak times when a lot of golfers wanted a mid round snack.

We always make a point of driving 2.5hrs to play this gem of a golf course every year. It is a fantastic golf course and in great condition, there are many challenges and so many stand out holes. The scenery is stunning , the staff are very friendly and we always enjoy a meal in the clubhouse with those views. Thanks again for a wonderful experience and we look forward to next year and many more to come.

Stunning golf course that will test all your skills and abilities. Pick your tee box wisely. Played here in late July & was able to book a reasonably priced green fee on their website in the afternoon. First impressions in the pro-shop were excellent and that is because we met the manager (apologies I have forgotten your name) who chatted to use and helped us with sorting out an electric buggy and giving help on how to play the first holes to get us started. Wonderful way to start the round, thank you. Isle of Purbeck Golf Club has some stunning views on some great holes, so be prepared to get some amazing photos as you walk the course. If you are walking, be prepared as it is a big course to walk with ups & downs for all 18 holes. The reason for 4* is that we were held up by a 4 ball of tourists who really didn't know how to play at a decent pace or understand that they were holding up play & should have allowed us and another group to play through. There were no course marshals to manage the pace of play. This was quite frustrating. The course was dry and the greens were in good condition, we were lucky enough to play on a warm sunny afternoon, which obviously helped with the positive experience. There are plenty of interesting & different holes on this course. No experience of the clubhouse or the restaurant as we were late finishing our round & needed to leave as soon as we finished. Looking forward to returning.

First time I played here, I will Definately go back for more rounds. The course it's self............ There is no water and minimal bunkers, what makes this course a challenge is the amount of blind shots you have to make. On every tee there is a picture (story) board on how to play the hole. When I say I'll Definately be back it's purely because now I know the layout of certain holes this course got a when lot easier. The tee boxes, fairways, and first cut rough all in great condition. Course was quiet and the members very friendly. Give this course a go at 21 to 27 quid a round you won't be disapointed. Oh and the views........

Absolutely stunning course. Away on holiday and cannot fault this. Some challenging but very nice holes. 15 and 16 in particular has some GREAT views. Not to hilly and the wind really held up today making it slightly easier. If you’re on holiday down here I would highly recommend. The information on the tee boxes REALLY help you to navigate the course. Met some of the staff on the way round who were extremely friendly !!
