My boyfriend and I were holidaying in Lyme over the weekend, both from Birmingham, we have plenty of restaurants in the city… yet Millside is the best meal we have had so far in 2024! Such a beautiful setting and a intimate dining experience. Although a small menu for mains, the starters are varied. I tried the escargot which our waiter recommended - who knew snails tasted so good! My boyfriend had the half lobster and I tried rump steak, also for the first time. Both dishes were presented beautifully and provided explosions of flavour with each bite, I’ll be dreaming of this meal for weeks! Thank you for such a wonderful meal and such attentive service.

Amazing seafood in a very cozy location. It's close to the beach and you can reach it via a slightly hidden path that brings you pass the old mill. Very welcoming family business, I'd come back to any time.

Dropped by for dinner, where I ordered the scallops, mackerel and rhubarb clafoutis. Everything was beautifully prepared. Saying that, it must have been an off night, as the kitchen team seemed to have encountered a few challenges when prepping the meals. But, it all ended well as the service team handled everything professionally resulting in both a comped dessert AND an extra dessert. All done voluntarily without me even having to bring up any of the issues myself. The only thing I would suggest for the future is it might be worth investing in an air purifier or fan to help move the air in the restaurant. Because it was pouring rain outside at the time, I noticed the space was locking in various odours from other guests such as BO, perfume and cigarette smoke. As a result, I found that I couldn’t really smell the dishes. As a fine dining establishment, I suspect it is preferred that such smells not interfere with the dining experience carefully curated by your team.

Rob has done a number of awkward works for us over the last year. He's a great communicator, and went above and beyond to create solutions for some tricky issues with our G2 listed property, which others couldn't figure out. He's always on time, cleans up at end of day, professional, and checks with us if he's found a better, or better value, alternative for the work we had in mind. We cannot recommend him highly enough.

Lovely electricians, managed to squeeze me in last minute after I was let down by another local company. I needed the lights and the extractor fan in my new teeny downstairs toilet to be connected before building regs could be signed off, and it was done the very next day with no fuss. They also added new sockets to my utility room as I couldn't use the washing machine and dishwasher at the same time with the old ones that were already in place, as the lights all tripped. The guys were clean and tidied up after themselves. I wouldn't hesitate to call them again when the next stage of renovations start. Thanks

Really pleased with the work that RN Stephenson has done for us including board checks, new outdoor lights and sockets, new light fittings inside and a callout when our fusebox went one evening. A great little bar! We've been coming here for about 10 yrs maybe and it always has a nice friendly atmosphere, great beers,larger and cider. there are also soft drinks and crisps but no food. Usually you'll find a seat somewhere and other drinkers are happy to share their tables. It's in a nice central spot with a car park and dinning options close by. It's dog friendly, children are also allowed if not going bonkers all over the place. It's wheelchair accessible to the outside seating area but unfortunately it wouldn't be possible inside I think but the bar is so close to the door that making a drink choice could be made from outside easily. The staff are friendly and the prices are about average for nowadays. All in all its well worth stopping in and enjoying a nice drink and a little break form the beach 👍

Love this little micro brewery. Always stop off for a quick pint of Lyme Regis Gold when on holiday in the area, which is most years. Friendly staff and great selection of ales. Just what you need on a hot sunny August day, or even a rainy one!

Small micro brewery located on the far eastside of very pretty Lyme Regis. It's in an area where there is also a gallery where local artists display their paintings, pottery shop, mill museum, pretty small restaurants with al fresco dining and a pretty small garden by a stream. They served 3 different local beers on draught and also sold bottled beer and souvenir clothing. Upstairs and outdoor seating is comfortable and stylish. Refreshing a glass of beer for a nice sunny day by the coast.

We've been super-happy with Joe and his colleagues. Highly recommended. We discoevered Joe through a previous small job at our colttage where they were sub-contracted by our builder. This week, they replaced a whole lot of ageing night-storage heaters with modern, programmable radiators at our rather old and crumbly cottage in Dorset. Joe gave great advice, answering every email really quickly. We were away when they did the job over a couple of days. We returned to find everything completed absolutely perfectly. The cabling from our meter was rewired as needed. Everything just right. New radiators installed, firmly fixed to our walls of various weird and historic materials. Other than the radiators being installed, we wouldn't have known they'd been here! The heavy old contraptions full of grime and bricks had been dismantled and taken away without any fuss, or dust. Through no fault of theirs, one of the new radiators had a little fault. They responded instantly and had sourced and installed a new one within 24 hours. Unbelievable! Everything friendly, cheerful, efficient, responsive and charged exactly the price agreed in advance. We are very happy (and warm!) bunnies indeed. Thank you Joe and Mark! I have been considering creating an en suite shower room and effecting some external works at my property but was somewhat daunted by managing a project. Joe Newton Electrical, Plumbing and Heating Services and James Newsam Construction were recommended by neighbours. Joe and James, who often work in collaboration, came to assess what was required and quote a week after contact. Options were discussed, sensible advice given and a detailed quote and anticipated start date followed shortly thereafter. The Project commenced on the agreed start date with a team of professional, pleasant, experienced, local trades arriving one after the other! all were well-briefed, hard working and consulted me in relation to any decisions (style of doors, placement of switches etc) as necessary. The ethos and importance of "Customer Satisfaction" was obvious throughout. Any queries I had were responded to by Joe or James, usually within the hour. Joe managed the sequence of events entirely for all the electrical and plumbing work, which was completed to a very high standard. I am delighted with my new En Suite Shower Room, it is spacious, practical and stylish and will doubtless add value to my property. I have no hesitation in recommending Joe Newton Electrical, Plumbing and Heating, who I will definitely use again. PS the final Invoice was exactly as quote and I literally could not fault any part of the service I received.

Picture the scene… a truly stunning June morning strutting along the front at Lyme Regis. Lovely coffee… very hot… and fantastic bacon bagel… seamless service. We got lucky to get the last 2 crab sandwiches. We also had some lemon and peanut butter brownies and aperol. Not the cheapest place, but great quilts and friendly service. Just next to the see side and toilets are not too far from there. Enjoy the food and the view, worth the visit.

Kiosk Lyme Regis serves decent coffee and I say this as an Australian who is used to great coffee. The atmosphere is fun and light-hearted. The staff are friendly and the banter is light. The setting right on the beachfront is lovely. Food is delicious - breakfast bagels and toasties are awesome. Beware the marauding gulls hovering ready to snatch your food out of your hands.

John and Paul provided a competitive price for a number of jobs for me. Their professionalism is second to none. WEBA have installed outside and inside lights, sockets, connections for treatment plants and installed an electric car charger. They are very clean and tidy contractors I would highly recommend.

Luke was fantastic. He fit an extractor fan in a really fiddly place (small attic area) and it looks like it was always there. He was friendly, polite and tidy. The pricing was entirely fair and the extractor fan works perfectly. We're new to Honiton so finding a trustworthy electrician is fantastic! Highly recommended.

We asked LAP to quote for a home EV charger after a friend recommended them. Arranging a qoute was easy and the quote itself came quickly and was competitive. It's always hard to find a company that you can trust. It takes time and a bit of research. I fell on my feet with Evergreen Renewables of Lyme Regis. With fairness and a solid attitude toward getting to the end product. I now have a great solar system fitted and I know I can trust the back up service, if something happens. We planned to install solar power at our house. It is listed, in an AONB and thatched so we knew it wouldn’t be the most straightforward installation. We originally had the tiled garage roof in mind for the panels. We researched local solar panel installers and chose Evergreen Renewable Energy SW based on a neighbour’s recommendation. Ian came to do the first survey and recognised that the garage roof wouldn’t be large enough to produce enough power for us, to justify the cost of the installation. He then suggested ground mounted panels within the property boundary. These would be mounted using the Cornish Rocker system, which also allow panel angle adjustment during the year depending on the height of the sun. The system didn’t require concrete foundations which enhanced the environmental credentials. We received the quote quickly and Ian answered our questions straightaway. Our council planning application was assisted in detail by Chris at Cornish Rocker. This made things much easier. Our panels were installed in Autumn 2023 along with a battery, housed in the garage. Cabling trench work was carried out by a company suggested by Ian. There was an immediate reduction in our energy costs, which have improved greatly as we have gone into the summer months of 2024, and offset by being able to export to the grid. During this period Evergreen Renewable Energy promptly answered any queries we had. On one occasion when there had been a power cut in the area, Ian alerted us to the impact on our system and advised us how to reset it. The service from Ian and his team and Chris from Cornish Rocker, has been excellent throughout and we can’t fault the after sales service. Our desire to do our bit for the environment and reduce fossil fuel energy consumption, has already started to be realised. We are pleased to have been able to provide business to a local company and would recommend Evergreen SW and Cornish Rocker without hesitation. A big thank you from us.

Ian and his team have fitted solar panels and battery storage for me at Seaton Cricket and Lawn Tennis Club and Uplyme Village Hall. From first contact, to site visits, to explaining and tweaking the options, to the efficient and tidy completion of the job and on to after sales service, it's all been A1 and all at a competitive price too. For my money - well, at least the money of the two organisations I represented - you can't beat a company that offers good value AND excellent personalised service. Full marks!

Vincent has been my Electrician of choice since I became a Landlord, helping get my properties up to NIRC. He is reliable, a local Electrician, charges competitive rates and offers a no fuss service seemingly making every job a breeze for his customer's giving him a well earned 5 stars in my book. Recent jobs 2 ceiling fan replacements including building the things, and getting the hot water to heat up again in another property very quickly to the delight of the tenants.
