Francs brunch and burgers

Amazing food. Small place but food makes up for it. Just may need to book for larger groups. Really good value for money. Loved the Aioli burgers, brisket balls, and duck loaded fries. Buffalo wings are VERY hot so only get them if you can really handle the heat😆

We really fancied a burger and this was not far from our guesthouse so we popped in and were greeted by the friendly staff. No problem getting a table and the place is clean and well maintained. We didn't have to wait long for the food and we enjoyed it when it arrived, I had the American Burger and my wife had the Duck Fries and halloumi in batter with sweet chilli sauce.

Really nice place with a great menu. I had the big English breakfast, which was delicious, but my family had the burgers, and omg, they looked amazing, and family said they were very tasty. Really good prices, too, and lovely atmosphere, service was great, appropriately attentive. I loved the artwork on the wall. It's not a very big place so I would advise reserving at busy times. No car park, but we parked at Tescos, which was cheap and 4 min walk, lovely area too, for a good wander around the shops and antique places afterwards too. We will be back for the burgers another day!

Friendly staff and atmosphere. A good selections of drinks and cocktails. There are also vegan options available - wish there were more but there’s always hope 😊 Staff was super flexible and keen to help you find the right ingredients combo

Food was plentiful and the burgers were really nice. I had the burger with blue cheese. I would say though that the BBQ sauce on our chicken pieces did leave you with a rather unpleasant powdery taste/sensation - the sweetness was quite overpowering. The ice cream machine was broken which was a shame. The only other desserts on offer were cake-y and heavy. Backup tub of ice cream would perhaps be good!

Little bit of a hidden gem here this place. Really chill and classy. Cheerful waitresses I loved it. We just shared a lil startery sharey sort of anteri pasteri typey thing. It was a perfect lunch and with a perfect man. Really busy here in a good way not in a rammed way. In a healthy way. Loads of room here and the staff are beautiful really creative menu and options but they get the basics right. Highly recommended

A restaurant that does not open in the evening. A pity, as the ambience is excellent. Excellent pizza Well hidden, were it not for a visit to the local butcher, I would not have found it. Hot tip: Select the day's special or a pizza. An old school building, stripped back to the red brick walls, two free-standing cast iron wood burning stoves.

The Forgotten Tea Room

2, Old Fleece Court, Horncastle LN9 5HT, UK | Tea House
P: 07766 332294

Rating: 4.8 (24) Price Level:

Popped in the other day for a sandwich and a pot of tea. An interesting tea room, lots of vintage items on display, very in-keeping with Horncastle's reputation as an 'Antique town'. The sandwich was freshly made and the pot of tea for one produced nearly 4 cups! The tea was loose leaf and I realised just how much better tasting that is than tea bags. After i saw the cakes, despite telling myself I wasn't going to have any, I caved in and had the very tasty ginger cake. The proprietor is a lovely chatty lady and made me feel very welcome.

This is an absolute gem of a place, a feast for all of the senses. There are so many treasures to see, many of which I remember seeing in my grandparent’s homes. The lovely 1940’s music playing, the gorgeous cakes, proper china cups and fantastic tea and coffee, sugar lumps and silver tongs and tea-strainers - such nostalgia. And all spotlessly clean and service with a lovely smile and a chat. Thanks so much, we will definitely visit again!

Nice cafe with a wide variety to choose from. Enjoyed a delicious ploughman's platter with their own 'Just Jane' cheese. Cheesy scone was lovely as was some French Toast and a lemon drizzle cake. Plenty choices next door from the bakery and the deli also. Cappuccino was generous and good. Staff friendly and helpful.

Came to Horncastle today just visiting. Wandered into Tanya's and were met by friendly faces and nice atmosphere. Meals were very large and well enjoyed as we were touring on motorcycles, ready for some food and a drink. We were served by a very attractive young woman very polite and helpful. Would highly recommend but be prepared for a queue to be seated as it's worth the wait.

If you want cheap good good and don't mind strip lights, tired decor and smelling of fryer fat then this place is great. We had cooked breakfast which was £6 and a great size cooked perfectly. Kids meals were £4 and perfectly sized and cooked. A real old fashioned greasy spoon that unfortunately are hard to find these days. We will be back!

It's a small little cafe with only 2 friendly ladies on usually, there is a easy menu system you can choose between 5 items, 7 items or 9 items on your English breakfast, or you can order other meals for lunch and snacks, the food is always hot and freshly cooked. It's a small establishment which can be busy at times but this shows just how popular it is with all the locals I enjoy every time I go in there and I enjoy the friendly atmosphere and prices!!

We stopped for some coffee while visiting the local area. Whilst outside seating area to the front could be tidied up a little (fix fencing / gate and renew paving slabs and shingle, adding some low maintenance plants). - The coffee was absolutely delicious, they obviously use a good coffee bean. - The Mocha's where particularly delicious! - Really enjoyable.

Lovely place for a bite to eat. Friendly staff and a pleasant atmosphere. Good priced food/drinks. Would recommend the Fully Loaded Hot Chocolate (see review photo). The menu had great choice (including Gluten Free options!). Plenty of seating outdoors. Think the negative reviews are a bit excessive. Give a local business a chance!

Lovely little quirky shop in Horncastle, really great variety of food options at a really reasonable price. Great service and food came out really quickly! Really great offering for gluten free with gluten free bread and cakes offered which was amazing. My one advice would be to strip back the amount of nick nacks and maybe offer some seating on the middle floor? Also maybe some nice music to fill the space with a bit of ambience, overall it was a nice cute cafe

Really nice food, with the 3xception of the coffee & walnut cake that was burnt. Our young server was cleay inexperienced, as lacked many customer services skills. The paninis however offered slightly less traditional falvours, which was great. They were also presented well too, and tasty equally as good. The banoffee pie was exceptional too. A greater focus on customer service, and checking your produce (to see if you should be selling it) would have made this a 5 instead.

Costa has the best drinks, and it's a popular place, but the Costa at Horncastle is not disabled friendly. My friend and I both struggled to get my husband's wheelchair up the three steps. A foldaway ramp would have been useful.

Always good everytime we go in there, whether we order a cappuccino, latte or frappe. Staff are always friendly and helpful, as they always help us in with our pushchair as there's a few steps into the café as it's an old building. Foods always good and typically as expensive as you expect costa to be. Nice atmosphere and nicely furnished, always a busy café as it's in the heart of horncastle but you'll always find somewhere to sit as there is seating upstairs and the staff will happily bring your drinks upstairs for you.
