Was welcomed upon serving by the biggest smiley face ever, along with a singing chef.. Obviously very happy in their work... I had beans on toast with 2 poached eggs and a slice of black pudding.. Food arrived 8 mins after ordering which is fantastic, food tasted delicious and was all piping hot.. Can't believe how cheap the prices are đđ... Will I be back? Yes 100000%.. Keep up the good work guys

Best place in all of Lincolnshire for a Bacon and egg bap (to date that is) I highly recommend that you are in the area you pop in and give it a try. There often can be a bit of a wait on food but it's worth the wait I'd say. The breakfasts are good but nothing to rant and rave over but still fills that spot for a cooked breakfast in the morning.

A proper greasy spoon, i love the food here, i hope it never changes like a lot of places do, service with a smile, great prices and offers, right next to the bus station and town centre, no competition this is the best café in Gainsborough.

A true gem of Gainsborough. Don't look like much but my Mrs said she ate there when she was a little girl and so to eat here with my sons is a bit special to her. It is very cheap and good quality food, normally have the big breakfast but today had a panini with fries and it was beautiful. The fries were actually fried! Normally it's oven cooked soggy yellow sticks but golden hot crispy fries! Heaven. Staff are great and interact brilliantly with customers so you get a family feel when you eat here, everybody knows each other and you could be mistaken for eating at home with all your family wittering on and laughing. My favourite place to eat when in town for lunch.

Had a big breakfast which included a mug of tea! Small friendly cafe, clean and bright. Staff very welcoming and polite. Food cooked to order. Hot and tasty, the eggs were cooked lovely and so was the fried bread. All for ÂŁ5 and so I can't really drop any stars, even if the sausages were fairly basic. Excellent value for money!! Great service too hence the full 5 â With today's tight budgets, it's an absolute bargain đ

Hickman Hill Hotel

Rating: 4.6 (228) Price Level:
Just come home after an amazing evening here. The food is outstanding and good value for money. The hosts are lovely and I am looking forward to seeing them again soon. This is so so much more than a hotel. We live in Gainsborough and we will be making this a regular event. Our only surprise is that it isn't packed out, but then if it was we wouldn't have enjoyed it as much. Also must mention the gardens. It is obvious that an enormous amount of time and love has been spent to give somewhere peaceful to while away the afternoon. Without a doubt the best place to eat in Gainsborough

My stay at the Hickman Hill Hotel has been absolutely delightful. The room is fantastic, with every detail meticulously thought out to ensure comfort and luxury. The bed is incredibly comfy, providing the perfect night's sleep. The staff have been super helpful, going above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable. I couldn't ask for a better experience. Highly recommended!

Fabulous experience. Attended a wedding reception catered for by the Hickman Hill hotel, the food was really top notch. The owner was as equally friendly as she was professional. I must admit that I got a bit tipsy, but I'd booked a room at the hotel so I didn't have far to go at the end of the celebration. The rooms are very spacious and luxurious. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

A Hidden Gem in Town! This was my first visit to this cafe for brunch, and I will definitely be returning. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and the staff are exceptionally friendly. There's a delightful small garden, and I hope my next visit will be on a sunny day so I can enjoy sitting outside. Nestled by the riverside, it's perfect for a leisurely walk after brunch. The menu, coffee, and food are outstanding. The full breakfast is generously portioned, but it would be great to see an option for a smaller size to accommodate those with smaller appetites like myself and reduce food waste. Overall, a wonderful experience!

Uncle Henry's
Grayingham Grange Farm, Gainsborough DN21 4JD, UK | Cafe P: 01652 640308
Rating: 4.4 (436) Price Level:
Uncle Henry's is an absolute gem for families! The farm shop is a foodie's paradise, boasting a fantastic selection of fresh produce, mouthwatering meats from the butchery, and delicious treats from the bakery. It's a one-stop shop for all your culinary needs. But the fun doesn't stop there! The outdoor area is a child's dream come true. The giant maze is a thrilling adventure, while the fairy trails spark imaginations. The jumping pillow is a guaranteed hit, and the crazy golf course offers a fun challenge for all ages. There's also a large play area, perfect for burning off energy. Plenty of parking makes access a breeze, and with so many activities on offer, there's something to keep everyone entertained. We had a fantastic day out and would highly recommend Uncle Henry's to families looking for a fun-filled and memorable experience.

This was a funny one, so Iâm off carbs and had just scrambled eggs on toast. But without the toast and they still charged a tenner. But oh well, the coffee was nice, that place is always full of mums and kids and the elderly and there was even a man on his laptop. đ» I know it was half term but there were kids everywhere and that doesnât bother me it was quite sweet. The best thing was Jennifer doing the tables she was lovely and the atmosphere was good. The farm shop was a little cluttersed I shouldnât fancy trying to wheel a pushchair through there! Thanks anyway. The butchery bit looked great too. Yea. Nice place.

Very nice combined farm shop and restaurant conveniently just off A15 between the Humber and Lincoln. We've eaten here a couple or so times a year, and if anything, things have just gotten better. Food is well cooked, local, and abundant. Highly recommended. July 24 had breakfast here all very nice but a touch expensive.

A large venue, spacious and clean. Decent service and food. One of the better Wetherspoons in the chain and I would recommend it.

The Sweyn Forkbeard has a wide range of beers lager and cider, including four hand-pulled cask conditioned real ales at very cheap prices. The cask ales we sampled were in excellent condition. The staff are friendly and welcoming the service was very quick despite the place being very busy. The food was very good. There is an outside seating area, and the pub is featured in the camra good beer guide.

Great Wetherspoons pub. Spacious, excellent customer service, good ambience. Generally busy without feeling overcrowded, except at peak times occasionally. Fast service, never had any problems with the food. Accessible toilet at the back of the pub, always clean and open to use. Prices are great, and itâs located very centrally.

Wanted quiche, but they don't do it with salad, but it says on wall it's on the menu. Don't do salad separate. Not staff fault. Management problem? Nice quuche even without the salad. Good friendly service.

Met at Marshallâs yard with my parents. Came to cream, and ordered for 7 people. We ordered a few bacon sandwiches amongst other items from the menu. We are quite fussy and like our bacon well done. These didnât disappoint, possibly the BEST bacon sandwich Iâve ever eaten! Other food was lovely too! The team were lovely, really helpful, friendly and happy! It was really busy and they didnât stop. Nothing was too much trouble. Well done team Cream. Best bacon sandwich around! đđœ

lovely place great coffee and changes for different seasons, bacon sandwiches are great and can save for free coffee, staff friendly and always clean
Rating: 4 / 5
Efficient if not over friendly staff who made our coffees just as requested. Good view when sitting upstairs over most of Marshalls Yard. No wait but it was a very quiet day. There's also another Costa outlet inside Next on the opposite side of the car park.
Rating: 5 / 5
The old faithful Costa. It is the universal meeting spot for anyone coming from outside of Gainsborough! Cheap parking, lovely outside seating area and good reliable drinks. The upstairs is particularly beautiful with its full length glass walls with a view over the fountains and the old marshalls yard buildings. Top tip.... if you're looking for a good spot to watch the reindeer being turned on at Xmas time, get upstairs early as you get a perfect cosy spot to watch the festivities
Rating: 5 / 5
We came in for morning coffee and cake while visiting Marshallâs yard. We were dining inside and found plenty of free tables upstairs. The queue for service wasnât too long and I was greeted politely and my order was taken quickly and efficiently. It was ready in good time and when returning to the table, the cakes were delicious and the drinks very good would highly recommend!

Lincolnshire Otter
Somerby Way, Gainsborough DN21 1QT, UK | Pub P: 01427 677250
Rating: 4 (1563) Price Level:
We stopped here along the way to Skegness from Doncaster. The day before, I reserved a table for five (2 adults and 3 children) and received a 30% off main meals voucher for booking online. Parking was a breeze and there were only two other patrons in when we arrived a little after midday. The menu was good - plenty to choose from. We ordered fish finger, cheeseburger, and bbq chicken burger meals for the kids and my husband and I had the ultimate spicy beef burger and the ultimate southern fried chicken burger, respectively. The quality was great and portion sizes generous but manageable - we didn't have dessert this time. Also worth mentioning that they sell Fruit Shoots for the kids; not all places do! Staff were friendly and helpful - double checking our order when we almost inadvertently ordered a vegan chicken burger. I also appreciated that the didn't come over after five minutes to "check everything is OK" (I hate that!) We were hoping for a little play area for the children to run off some steam in but didn't see one (however we didn't ask). There was a little "under fives" area by the toilets which had books, a doll house, and some touch screen games. Also a small playground outside which we didn't go to as it was raining. I think this will be our lunch stop everytime we make this journey, now!

We popped in for dinner 2 adults 3 kids. When we arrived on a Tuesday, the place was almost empty (2 or 3 people only). The lady behind the bar was polite and welcoming, the place was clean and tidy. The food arrived pretty quick and was piping hot. The price of the meals were average. All in all a nice place with great service. I would recommend and will be returning at some point. P.s. sorry about the pictures, we had started to eat before taking pictures of the food.
Rating: 5 / 5
Visited for food after not going for a very long time. Caz behind the bar was friendly and helpful. The pub was clean and bright. We sat and were pleasantly surprised by such good choices of food on the menu, we were spoilt for choice. Settled on the 8oz rump steak well done. When it arrived the steak was cooked through and still juicy and the chunky chips were tasty and nice to get all the accompaniments. My husband had the ultimate spicy burger and said it was delicious. We enjoyed the food so much we went back with family the next night. All tried different meals and all as delicious. I would highly recommend a visit to this lovely pub.

Plenty of spaces to park. When we visited it wasn't busy but we booked for a table in advance to let them know that we have our dog with us. Food was good and served hot, service was fast, staff were friendly and approachable. I asked for bits of chicken for my dog and they gave us a good amount of it, so kind. Highly recommended especially to those who have dogs.
