If your fortunate enough to get chosen by Karen as a teacher for your child then count yourself among a handful of parent's who will be left with a child prepared for not only outstanding test result's but the skill's to sail through any and every obstacle put to them through their educational journey through life. The skill's she teaches come from decades of experience she is passionate about every student, for her it is not a job but a way of life and every time my child comes home beaming with pride with their regular test results this shows. Our children actually wanted to go back and sit another test with Karen after their tuition had come to an end she is that good at her teaching. The biggest gift Karen gave to our children was a passion for reading in fact our bookshelves are now crammed with book's from a vast range of authors, Karen has changed the course of my children's life for the better.

This week, our daughter has just started her first choice grammar school after successfully and comfortably passing her 11+ selective test in September 2018. It was a special moment, and was only possible thanks to the support and meticulous preparation/tuition offered by Dr Karen O'Rourke (not to be confused with other local tutors with a similar name!). She has over 20 years of tuition experience, und her consistent results are unrivaled. Her tuition is structured and meticulously planned to build the student's confidence and ability over a 2 year period from year 4, so that when they sit the exam in year 6, they are in the best possible position to attempt the test. Her goal is not just to pass the test, it is to fully prepare the student for life in a grammar school environment which I am sure will have it's own academic challenges. Tuition is held in small groups of 5, which allows her to focus on the strengths and weaknesses of every child. I can honestly say that she genuinely cares about each one of her students, and is quite selfless in her efforts to help and guide both student and parents. Naturally, parents are expected to support her totally, and be prepared to sacrifice a significant amount of time each evening to help the child with homework and learning. We cannot thank Dr Karen enough for coming into our lives, and helping us to help our daughter realize her potential. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr Karen to any parent who is seriously looking to prepare their child for life in a grammar school. In fact, my son will be starting his 2 year Dr Karen journey this week, and I have every confidence that with our support, she will help him achieve his goal also.

Our daughter was tutored by Dr Karen and passed her 11 plus to achieve her goal of getting into her first choice Grammar School. I have found writing this review difficult, as I cannot adequately express our gratitude for all Dr Karen has done for our daughter. Unlike other tutors (which we have successfully had the experience of for our son), Dr Karen tutors for not only 11 plus, but just as importantly, cares enough to invest her time and vast knowledge to ensure the children learn life/study skills, which will take them beyond just passing the 11 plus. Our daughter has walked away from her 11 plus journey with good results, and a very inquisitive mind! Our daughter has had an exceptional Year 6, and received an outstanding SATs score. We truly believe that this was due to Dr Karen giving our daughter the confidence and mindset, that if you work hard, you can achieve anything!! Thanks again!!
