We used this tuition centre for our daughter to prepare for her 11+ exams and had a really positive experience. We liked the fact that there were small class sizes of 5-6 children which allowed the tutor to focus his attention on each child individually, in particular their strengths and weaknesses, as well as building up a good rapport with ourselves and our child. One of the main differences we found with A+ Tuition (compared to some larger well known centres) was that the tutor actually took the time to get to know our child from the outset, for example by asking us questions about her SATS results and school reports- we didn’t get this from any of the other centres we enquired at, they only told us the class times and cost. Thanks to the tutor’s support and guidance our daughter passed the 11+ and secured a place in our preferred grammar school.

GCSE results day. My son got a 7 for maths and 4 marks off 6 for biology. Caroline is what I would call a “super tutor”. She goes absolutely over and above to support her students. Even on the morning of exams she was sending little reminders and helpful revision notes. Both my sons have been tutored by Caroline and they have huge affection for her as do we as parents.

Caroline has taught Science to our daughter for 2 years after she was struggling with certain topics for her GCSE's. Caroline is professional, patient, engaging, supportive and is very informed. The lessons were so successful, our daughter also had Maths tuition as well. Caroline sends resources, supportive links, lesson notes and keeps us up to date with feedback following the lessons, her communication is excellent. She has made such a difference and has been an amazing mentor for our daughter. We only wish we had found her earlier for our older children! My son started GCSE Maths tutoring with Caroline 6 months before his exams started after his predicted grade had fallen by nearly 2 grades. He had a zoom meeting with Caroline first to meet her and they clicked straight away. Carolines calm and kind personality made him feel completely at ease and assured that he was in the right hands. She was so thorough and organised with the work provided in each session, the homework sent through each week and updating me after each lesson. The amount of material Caroline sent through for each topic was fantastic and she was even able to check where my sons school was up to with the curriculum to know what he would not cover so that she could teach him these before the exams. Not only did Caroline check in with my son on each exam morning with reminders and good luck wishes she did the same with information for sciences as well which was so appreciated. On results day, we were thrilled to see he had achieved a grade 8 and he doesn’t doubt for a second that a huge part of that is down to Caroline’s help and support throughout. My daughter's always felt comfortable in David's lessons and was able to ask David any questions if the work wasn't understood. Our son with sen has been attending 1:1 lessons at Halliwell Tuition for nearly a year. His wonderful teacher has been the perfect match, she breaks the work down in to a way that that is understandable for him, so that he is able to complete (and enjoy!) the work. Can’t recommend Halliwell Tuition enough!! My daughter who’s in year 4 has never really enjoyed maths and after the lockdowns due to covid she was lacking so much self confidence and crying when it came to doing her maths homework, after being recommended to David from another school mom we looked into 1-1 tuition for her and it’s been the best thing we have done! So far so good! My experience with Mr Kumar has been very positive. He has always explained clearly what the expectations are for the session as well aa advised on the longer term direction which I have found enlightening. My son enjoys his sessions and has engaged so well. I usually find it difficult to get my son to settle with a new teacher, however it has become quite a success in a short space of time. Me and the family look forward to Adam learning more and maybe teaching us a thing or two 😊. The sessions are at an advanced level beyond his year group and is giving him quite a challenge that he is embracing and very excited about learning more.

Sofia is a great tutor, as well as charismatic and patient. My 10-year-old son was very behind in school, especially in maths, due to his learning and concentration difficulties. During the three months of 1x1 tutoring, I noticed a great improvement since the initial assessment and also in my son's interest in learning math. Highly recommend After researching a number different tutors we decided for u-cademy, they are professional and most importantly understands how to get the best out of the student.
