A beautiful example of what pubs used to be in the best way - friendly staff, honest food, and decor that gave me a flashback to my childhood. This is the opposite from a gastropub. We came for Sunday lunch without a booking and they fitted us in. The food was tasty, was it the most amazing Sunday roast I’ve ever eaten? Maybe not (however the roast potatoes were simply amazing), but it was a decent, tasty carvery with good meat and staff who obviously cared about food and making their customers happy. Strongly recommended for the experience and atmosphere.

Quiet this late in the season on a Thursday at 13:00h, the owner is friendly though and the kitchen is open nonetheless.
Busier Thursday Friday and Saturday nights with special events such as Halloween fancy dress (see their Facebook page ;-) ).
2024 update, came for a wee drink with my Mum. Lovely jubbly.

We were staying in the neighbourhood for a holiday and went here 3 days in a row. First day lunch, second day drinks and third Day for the Sunday Roast. Nice place, smells like a fireplace/smoked. Very cosy. Very nice employees (Charlie). The food was delicious. Big drinks. Not too expensive. Excellent service.

Stopped for a couple of drinks on a sunny Saturday afternoon & ended up staying! Really good live singer in the garden. Owners & staff so friendly & welcoming. Was allowed to park our camper there overnight so drank some more & had some food which with really amazing. Looking forward to going back there soon. Highly recommend as just an all round lovely place. Beach opposite is beautiful.

We were blown away by the size and quality of the food, they had a band playing called the golden wonders who were incredible!!
We were also allowed to stay in the car park :) thank you ☺️
