Nice pub in a nice location with a large garden. Garden looking a bit tatty and unloved. Staff friendly.

The food is quite normal pub grub but it was nice, and I think prepared on site (sadly not always the case in many pubs and restaurants these days)

Dropping a star because it felt unnecessarily expensive - £17 for a burger & chips is dear, even in today's inflation steeped environment.

Traditional, dog friendly pub with great service and great tasting food.

Visited here with the Mrs and our dog. Had a couple of pints, a toad in the hole, and place.

Either the food was lovely or we were tired from our 4 mile walk, as I forgot to take any photos!

We booked a table for four, only one had a starter the prawn cocktail, which was excellent. We all had different mains, all of which were also excellent, also pretty big portions so ensure you bring your appetite with you! The young waitress was polite and patient, though obviously a little inexperieced when it came to the wine list. The australian shiraz that we chose however was supurb.
The deserts were unfortunatly not so good, the Baileys cheese cake was bland and the ice cream was full of ice crystals.
The coffee and Baileys/ coffee and Irish whiskey were very good, really nice coffee, the booze speaks for it's self!!
Over all the cost was about £140 for the four of us, so not to bad. I've paid more for worse!
In conclusion, a great ancient pub with log burners and a friendly welcome, great service and food. Well worth a visit for a meal or simply a good drink.

First time at this pub, it won't be the last.
Great atmosphere, tasty food well presented, good beer reasonably priced and a terrific host.
100% love this place, what a great find.
