Wonderful overnight stay. I have been visiting for over 15 years. Max, waiter in the Ballroom during our evening meal was lovely, so friendly and helpful. Drinks pricey, but food choice is excellent. Only minor moan is they no longer include in the price poached eggs at breakfast, but you can order with avocado at a £5 supplement. Outdoor terrace is lovely. Rooms very clean and gorgeous decor.

Wonderful and very relaxing overnight spa experience with dinner, breakfast and lunch in that order. This was an experience worth every penny! Stunning grounds, superb facilities and very attentive staff throughout! The meals were part of the package and were amazing! Beautifully presented 3 course lunch and dinner using locally sourced fresh produce which tasted delicious! No surprises that they are an award winning restaurant and spa! The attention to detail is to be applauded! I had experienced the day spa before, but unfortunately did not get the full experience as the hydrotherapy pool was under repair! However, all the facilities were available this time and definitely worth my special treat! Highly recommend a visit 👌🏾

It is perfect in every way and well worth the price. Exemplary service throughout our stay. The room was spotless and fresh. The comfortable bed and accompanying pillows and linen were pristine. The bathroom was excellent. Facilities at Hoar Cross are good and all were operational on our visit. The pool, sauna etc are all well-maintained and clean. The outdoor spa pools are a must. It was a fantastic experience, even though it was a cold freezing day. Dining is exceptional. Both breakfast and dinner were perfect and flawless in terms of taste, quality and service. Treatments: Elemis Expert Touch Renew Facial and Grown Alchemist Back and Face Reset Full marks for treatments. All good. Thanks for a great time.

I recently enjoyed a two-night spa break at Hoar Cross Hall, my first visit to this stunning hotel and spa and I was pleasantly impressed from start to finish. The hotel itself is beautiful, blending historic charm with modern comforts. From the moment I arrived, the staff were welcoming and professional, ensuring a seamless check-in experience. The spa facilities are fantastic, offering a perfect balance of relaxation and luxury. Whether unwinding in the thermal suites or taking a dip in the pool, every area felt well-maintained and thoughtfully designed. My spa treatment was excellent—highly skilled therapists and a calming atmosphere made for a truly rejuvenating experience. Dining at Hoar Cross Hall was another highlight. The food was delicious, with a well-curated menu that catered to a range of tastes. One standout moment was the exceptional service from our dinner waiter, Max W. He was not only professional but also incredibly entertaining, adding a personal touch to the evening that made it all the more enjoyable. Overall, my stay at Hoar Cross Hall exceeded expectations. The combination of beautiful surroundings, top-tier spa facilities, delicious food and outstanding service made for a truly relaxing break. I’ll definitely be returning!

Stayed over for a company event. The location was not too far out and easy to find. Inside looked very nice, very clean and the food was great. Can't fault the service from all the staff and Jordan was especially professional. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Highly recommended for the stay and the views of the grounds.

Beautiful setting for a family celebration. Friendly and attentive staff made our stay very special - nothing was too much trouble. We were able to have the library and drawing room to ourselves. The grounds were great for the kids and dog. Lovely walks nearby.

Enjoyed an afternoon tea with friends. Could have been warmer in the room but had a lovely gas fire going. Food was excellent. Would recommend the venue.

Just had a wonderful Burns Night everything at the Dovecliff hall hotel? The food was beautiful as were the staff, so welcoming and a great atmosphere with the other guests, would highly recommend this venue for a relaxing event evening. Thoroughly enjoyed being there. Loved our waitress.. totally

The room was clean and comfortable the peaceful river setting was lovely. However, the dining experience was disappointing. The food took too long over 45 minutes to arrive and was cold. Clearly not hitting about 70 degrees on the pass ..I can only imagine thier was only one chef in the kitchen the turkey roast dinner was particularly poor value as well as the other food.the desserts was the only thing we all enjoyed ..as for the breakfast basic, It's a shame that such a beautiful location is let down by the restaurant.

Fantastic location very quiet. We stayed one night as collecting an eBay purchase close by. We stayed in one of the “cottages’ not actually a cottage a room in another location. We were upstairs up a concrete set of stairs. With shared outer door with the next door room. The actual room was very comfortable with lovely bed very clean. Good bathroom with decent shower. We had a meal in the bar area as had dogs with us who weren’t allowed in the restaurant. The food was decent I’d say 8/10 not a generous portion. Quite expensive. A wake was going on so we had wait to order food as not enough staff. Bar staff friendly. The car park was large and dog walking area ideal. Probably lovely in the summer. So yes it’s a nice place but if we came again would stay in main hotel.

Visited friends that were staying here, looks absolutely stunning, and the lodges are lovely and warm. Will definitely be booking long weekends here

Me and my partner absolutely loved our stay hear lodge and hot tub was very nice really clean and had everything we needed would definitely recommend if your after a nice peaceful stay somewhere some great pubs for food nearby will definitely be returning.

Lovely weekend stay at Ashby Wounds Lodges. Spacious, clean lodge, just a few snags (dishwasher was out of order, a couple of lights in one of the bedrooms didn't work, kitchen blind had come away from the wall), but this didn't spoil our stay at all. Hot tub was perfect temperature mid-evening on our first night. Spa treatments were amazing. Location peaceful, our lodge overlooked the canal which was a bonus. A short drive away from supermarkets, and lots of lovely walks around. Would definitely return.

You wont be Disappointed in this stay. I have just come back from my stay at Ashby Woulds. I have had a fantastic time. The Lodge was absolutely beautiful with complimentary robes and slippers for the hot tub. Scott on the front desk and maintenance couldn't of been anymore accommodating and friendly. We're local to the pub and been meaning to try the Blenheim last few months - managed to make time today and wow, what an incredible meal!! We had the Teriyaki beef starter (10 out of 10) and an incredible Stilton and Broccoli soup! Then 2 superb roasts, cooked super well and plenty of it, even automatically came with extra gravy and veg! Definitely would recommend, looking forward to going back!

What a great location to have a private party really enjoyed the venue and the set up the food was very good pizzas gyros the scones with cream and jam were amazing and the bar selection was fantastic. Really had a good time and friendly staff would highly recommend a place for a private functionas the set up a location were great.

Great one night stay at Kedleston Country House. Curzon room was great, comfy bed and lovely bathroom. Breakfast was great, only minor qualm was the streaky bacon wasn’t really cooked enough, more like ham consistency rather than crispy bacon. Only a really minor feedback item. Products and little touches great. Would definitely return without a doubt when next in the area.

I booked this lovely venue for a baby shower and it did not disappoint! Sally was a great help and support during the booking process, answering all my questions and even accommodating a visit prior to the event. She was so helpful and polite! I wanted to do a half and half with the menu and Sally made sure with the chef that this would be possible, which it was! On the day, I was greeted by the lovely Cristy who went above and beyond to accommodate the event! I booked the Orangery and it was such a gorgeous room for the event with plenty of space! All the staff were lovely, but Cristy kept checking with me to make sure everything was okay which was so helpful and helped take away the stress from me! The food was great and all the guests enjoyed it due to the wide variety on offer. I would definitely recommend based on my experience with Sally & Cristy when booking and the venue being so beautiful!

This hotel has a special place in our hearts; we’ve been coming here for over eight years now. The staff are incredibly friendly and always present themselves well, which makes our stay even more enjoyable. There's something so comforting about the calm atmosphere here. The self-service breakfast is a lovely way to start our day. Thank you.

I think it’s generally a conference/business hotel but we went for the weekend as a little break with our dog and had a wonderful stay. The hotel is well maintained and the rooms are good sized and clean. The service is very welcoming and friendly, but I have to mention Kate who was running around making sure everyone had everything they needed for breakfast. I she was so efficient and is an absolute diamond! Probably would have been some grumbling customers at breakfast if not for her Herculean efforts! The spa was ok, rather tired but had everything you need and is a nice touch. Got some good recommendations from hotel staff for things to do in the area and there’s plenty of local pubs a short walk away. I’ll be staying again soon!

We had a wonderful stay and it was a brilliant price thanks to vitality health insurance discount. The walls were thin between rooms but luckily we had quite quiet neighbours. 3 course meal was beautiful but breakfast and lunch were not so good. Buffet style, not enough choice and nothing was labeled so a lot was going to waste. Service was excellent from all staff. Zara was brilliant for my spa treatment. Hotel and spa looking a little tired in general but nothing too bad. Charged the car on the electric chargers however spaces for electric cars were regularly occupied by non electric vehicles and one car was parked so close we very nearly couldn't leave - it took a ridiculous amount of shuffling. The car park needs clearly marked bays - especially the electric charging section.

I'm confused about the negative reviews I've seen and we were a bit apprehensive before we arrived. Once there it is fair to say that our expectations were far exceeded and we had a wonderful day at the day spa, not least thanks to getting an amazing deal via the Vitality rewards scheme. We didn't realise that breakfast was included so that was a bonus right off the bat. Lunch was a buffet with excellent choices for my wife who is vegetarian as well as myself, plenty of salads but also a good variety of hot food and not a chicken nugget or chip in sight, fantastic. Staff were very friendly and helpful on all occasions. We booked one treatment which was also brilliant. We were never pressured into making any additional purchases. The facilities were clean and even though the car park looked busy, the actual facility was not. The pool was warm enough to swim for an extended period and the hydro pool even warmer. We didn't explore the outside areas as it was a fairly grey December day but we will be looking forward to returning next year when the weather is warmer. The outdoor tennis court looked stunning and in great condition. Thank you to everyone at Champneys Springs for a memorable day.

I can't comment on the rooms as I haven't stayed but I understand they've recently been refurbished. Other facilities, the spa, restaurant, cafe, shops, gym etc are all great. There is plenty of seating, inside and out to relax on between treatments, classes or swimming. Staff are lovely, incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. A recent gym induction with Julie was very informative and perfectly tailored to my requirements. I found all the equipment in great condition with plenty of options. The food is wonderful, healthy and tasty. Changing rooms have plenty of clean towels lovely Elemis products in the showers with hairdryers etc. I haven't signed up for any classes yet so can't comment there.

Very nice and comfortable room. The staff was very calm and served every problem (damaged hairdryer) quickly. The breakfast was great and the fresh Omelette very tasty. It's also nice to be in the heart of derby to reach everything quickly.

I visited Derby thrice and all the time I stayed here because of one main reason, the location! It's close to the bus station, Derbion mall is 5 minute walk away. Everything else is accessible. Excellent location and it's 10 minutes to the railway station. Coming to the rooms, they are quite spacious for a standard room. Since I stayed for 3 weeks here, the hangers were not sufficient. They could check the duration of the stay and probably increase the number of cloth hangers. Point for improving the service I reckon. That being said, the breakfast is nice and they accepted our omelette requests everyday :) On my 2nd stay, I had met with a terrible accident and hurt on my knee badly on the day of travel and had to change the dressing for my knee everyday when landed in Derby. The receptionists helped me to get temporary first aid whenever I asked for it. Appreciate this gesture.
