We moved into our dream house five years ago but whilst the house was perfect, the garden was a real disappointment for me - an awkward L shape with various slopes. On Raine’s first visit, she was keen to understand our vision for the garden before suggesting any ideas of her own. She was also cognisant of my desire to do as much of the work as possible. Raine identified the need to open up the rear of our kitchen in order to integrate the new garden with our home and was keen that we do this first, even if it meant delaying the start of the garden project. Raine is direct in her communications and will challenge you but that is exactly what we needed in order to achieve our perfect garden. Raine delivered on her brief in spades - we now have a modern garden which looks and feels twice the size that it did before, and with great entertaining space. The connection of the garden with the kitchen has made all the difference, and we now have the dream garden to go with our dream home! Raine's knowledge of garden design and her way with people are really quite extraordinary. Our garden was unloved, lacking soul and not a space we could enjoy as a family. We love entertaining, but had always felt confined to being inside when we had guests or parties. Raine opened our eyes to the world of garden design and worked with us to design an incredible outdoor space that we are not only immensely proud of, but has changed the way we live. Raine continually challenged us to see the bigger picture and also to trust the process. She was so reassuring and drew on her experience and expertise to solve problems along the way, producing solutions that were creative and practical in equal measure. Despite this being a daunting project for us, having Raine on board made the process a pleasure. She was always there when we needed her, and we always looked forward to her visits. Watching the garden being built was truly magical and brought Raine's design to life. Her attention to detail and that of Winslade Landscapes were exemplary and really surpassed our expectations. Raine helped us with our garden project after completing the design work in 2023. We have had the pleasure of working with Raine during the last 18 months or so, during the design and construction phases of our fabulous garden project, which has just been completed. We connected with Raine instantly; she took the time to understand our vision, how we would use the garden, and the kind of family we are, not missing out the children’s and the dog’s needs with our outdoor space. With her brief she then prepared excellent plans (she has fantastic drawing skills) to put our vision on paper. There were some changes along the way, but Raine proved to be extremely flexible, responsive, open and throughout the entire process she went out of her way to ensure that we were always happy. Raine has excellent communication skills too, and there were regular updates and prompt replies to all of our queries. Raine’s attention and eye for detail is faultless and we also appreciate that she was so honest and not scared of challenging our opinions. Today we are so grateful that we listened to her expert views. We are demanding clients and I’d say sometimes probably ‘qwirky’ people, but she wasn’t fazed by it. We had so many laughs throughout the process too, and I think it’s fair to say Raine got a real insight into our family life through our many chats, not all garden related! Raine has an outstanding working relationship with the landscaping professionals that she recommended, and they too delivered everything as agreed, and more. Our fabulous new garden was worth the wait, and we are truly delighted and look forward to see our garden mature and to enjoy it for years to come.

We contacted David for advice on tree planting - he visited and listened carefully to our needs, and was able to talk us through our options clearly, despite our own lack of knowledge of gardens, trees and anything green! When it came to planting the trees, felling an unwanted tree, adding some new lawn, David and his team were very professional and finished it to the highest standard. We're now getting Wrights' services to do some maintenance, to keep some of our larger trees in check.

He is very knowledgable when it comes to plants and planting and has a great approach to gardening in general. The hard landscaping was done in an efficient and timely manner. He and his team arrived early and worked hard right through the day. Highly recommend Glorious Gardens Son & Co! Straight from the start they were extremely polite and very knowledgeable about what they were doing which gave me confidence with them doing my garden. They cleared all the leaves, cut all the hedges and striped the lawn perfectly. I was extremely happy with their visit so I got them back to do a fencing job for me which they absolutely smashed. I can fully recommend James and his team from BlueFish. We had a large landscaping project that included a complex terrace wall and steps. James was the one contractor who was confident in taking on our plans. Their communication and quality of workmanship was exemplary - we were keeping it to an Arts & Crafts style that included some more intricate styles and materials. The team were polite and kept a very clean and tidy site. We now have the most beautiful terrace and landscaping that draws many positive comments. We were delighted with the finished result.

I moved into a new build property with the typical uninspiring square turfed back garden with a patio which was too small to be useful. I added a shed and then had absolutely no idea what to do next! I found Jane by Google search and she’s been brilliant. Lots of ideas I would never have thought of, and really professional with landscaping and planting plans so I had the detail…and the end result is so much better than I could have ever thought. Jane also looks at the additional things which, if it was her garden she would fit, so I also have an irrigation system, waterbutt, a bee hotel and other great suggestions! Would absolutely recommend her.

I found Poison Ivy via a Google search and Jane was quick to respond to my initial email. I had never 'designed' a garden from scratch and didn't really know what I wanted, more what I didn't want. She asked pertinent questions about what I wanted from my 'new space' and listened to my waffly answers. I loved the finished design but also made some 'minor' tweaks when I worked out things I did want. Jane helped me find someone to carry out the hard landscaping and I LOVE the finished product. I have some plants but still have enough gaps to let the garden evolve as I explore what plants might be out there for me to discover.

Jane and her team have completely transformed a bare and uninteresting garden into a beautiful space. She is a joy to work with, she's enthusiastic, very knowledgeable, and incredibly hardworking. From the initial design stage, including lots of ideas we'd never have thought of, through hard-landscaping and final planting, Jane has responded promptly to all our queries, and everything has been completed on time and on budget. Jane has now completed two projects for me: the first being a hard-landscaped rose circle, and more recently the remodeling of what was a very narrow and mean back patio, but which has now been transformed into a wonderful sunny dining and entertaining area, integrating previously stand-alone parts. Both projects were design and build, executed on-time and to budget. They included full-planting. Furthermore she and her team were not put off by executing the bulk of the work in challenging conditions early spring, with only a few days delay for weather, so come spring-proper all was ready to use. So, in summary I'm extremely pleased with the results. It's given a new lease of life to a previously neglected area, nicely complementing the rest of the garden, and a very useful and sociable additional space in the house.

We have been using Dan and his team for quite a few years now to look after several of our properties, both commercial and residential. Their work is always carried out to a very high standard, on-time and with in budget. Had some soft landscaping works carried out and I am really pleased with the end result. Dan and his team were thorough, efficient and very knowledgable. I have more work that I need to be done next year and I will certainly be coming back to use Stripe Gardens again!

We have an awkward garden with a very large magnolia and a number of rather inaccessible yew blocks and pillars. All need a bit of thought to get them looking good, and the magnolia has to be done almost entirely with long-handled pruners. Paul, with some late assistance from Dan, did the best job we have seen in many years. We will certainly be asking them to come back next year.
