Max and his team plastered a hallway, landing and 2 rooms for us, including a loft room with curves and various angles. The work was done efficiently and to a very high standard. We were impressed with the finish, and will definitely use them again for other rooms.

We have used Matt and his team on several occasions and have always been highly satisfied with his work. We had a kitchen extension built on the rear of our house which involved knocking through and this was done with as little disruption to our lives as possible. Matt kept us updated each step of the way and always turned up when he said he was going to. The work was done to a high standard and we were so pleased we had mb builders back again to complete our block paved driveway. Once again we couldn't fault Matt and the team. We how have a garden project that we will be calling upon them for later this year. Highly recommend.

A big thank you to Matt and Steve for a complete make-over of our garden with a new patio and a space ready to be turfed. They both worked extremely hard and spent a lot of attention to detail (some of which we kept changing). I would personally like to thank Matty,Matt,Steve and Callum for completing our project for our new garden wall. The gentleman were professional tidy great sense of humor and delivered what was required for our garden giving us privacy and framing our garden with a lovely 3 foot wall with 6 foot piers and 3 foot double contemporary panels. My experience with MB builders was faultless from the initial consultation and quote I was told what to expect given a start date and a price that could not be beaten. When work began I was kept informed of progress and was made to feel like they cared about my input and they could not have done any more my expectations where surpassed when the project was completed it looked better than I could have ever imagined from the initial photo I had shown to Matty on what I was looking for. I’m lucky I have found reliable quality local builders to complete this project and I have a few more projects at the current property that I will be getting MB builders to complete for me could not be more please. So pleased we chose James Newsam Construction for our project. We are thrilled with the work, James is extremely professional, he coordinates and manages all the trades needed for the job. He’s well connected and works closely with excellent local trades (Joe@ Joe Newton Electrician and Plumbing, Dan@ Thomson Interiors, Matt@ The Carpet Company) James’s entire team are highly skilled, hard working, friendly and trustworthy. They took a great deal of care around our living set up enabling us to mostly stay at the house throughout. Any issues where dealt with quickly and the level of aftercare is exceptional, they really go above and beyond. We’d like to thank the whole team - Thanks guys! Our renovation involved fitting RSJs (thanks Joe and Martin), removal of chimney flute, refitting staircase, knocking through walls, widening doors, new waste piping (Thanks Justin), new flooring (thanks Matt), new kitchen (Thanks Andy), new WC room, plastering (Thanks Lewis), painting (Thanks Colin and Craig), tiling (Thanks Steve), carpentry and fitting a stunning oak framed window (Thanks Liam!).

James and his team have made a wonderful job of our loft conversion, although it’s much more than that. Upstairs, we now have a lovely additional double bedroom and large bathroom and the changes to the hallway and staircase are fantastic. There have also been changes to one of the rooms downstairs, which is much better now the chimney breast is removed. We have a new front door and the whole roof has been retiled. The dormer blends in really well and we love our new round window. Overall, its created so much more space and the finish is first class. We couldn’t be happier. Everyone involved has been highly professional and polite. Importantly, communication with James has been excellent throughout. His monthly invoicing is very clear and easy to understand. We have no hesitation in recommending James Newsam Construction to anyone looking for a high quality building company.

We appointed James in January 2024 to extend our separate kitchen & dining rooms, turning them into a light and airy open-plan kitchen and living space. James is extremely efficient, polite, and respectful. Working with a 1930s house it was inevitable that there would be some structural challenges, but James worked with us, keeping us informed and involved as we devised solutions together. His team are all very polite, deliver work of excellent quality, and clearly enjoy their work and working together. As a result, I was able to continue working from home for much of the project, which saved us considerable expense. Working with James meant that we did not have to project manage the work - he has all the contacts you need - tilers, decorators, suppliers of windows, electricians, plumbers etc. We would definitely recommend James and would happily work with him again.

Pete is a lovely guy, very friendly and genuine. Another company tried to charge me to re-tune my tv and made out it was a 'big job'. Pete took a look and said it was just a simple re-tune, fixed in minutes. I would highly recommend using him and won't hesitate to contact him again for future work. Thanks!!

I initially employed Pete for some painting after sacking off rubbish tradesmen before him! He is easily the best in terms of workmanship I have seen. He’s a nice guy, turns up when he says and is reasonably priced. Since, he has done WiFi and camera installations and to be honest I’d always ask Pete in future if he could do a job before considering anyone else!

Nick is exceptional. I have been very impressed with the quality of his work and range of skills, and believe me, I am very picky about details. He always arrives on time, works in a clean, tidy way and gets the done job done quickly and properly. I always feel I am in safe, professional hands with Nick - he is capable, reliable and his rates are very reasonable. Nick has done so many jobs for us over the past 7 years I cannot remember them all! But he is the man to go to if you need pretty much anything done, handyman is the exact right word to describe Nick! If there is a job that needs doing from plumbing, to decorating, to fixing holes in the floor, to installing wall brackets, roof repairs, most recently securing flag poles at our shop…you name it he can do it!
