Rating: 4.6 (1626) Price Level:
Lovely spot for a chill lunch! Great atmosphere and packed with people. Had to queue for and hour but not too bad. Great food and nice staff!
Rating: 4 / 5
Lovely place to dine or shop from local businesses - all in close proximity to the train station. We seemed to have visited on a particularly busy day, as they only had one table available for walk-ins (us). The kitchen seemed a bit overwhelmed as our food took forever to arrive, and we ended up dining there for 2.5 hours. Something to keep in mind if you're on a tight schedule. The food was great! We really enjoyed the confit pork belly, and we thought the mint butter paired really well with the pink fir potatoes. Didn't realise the 'roast chicken' was a salad when we ordered, but it was still pretty good.
Rating: 5 / 5
Small and pretty farmers market just a minute walking from Canterbury Station. Good selection of fruit, vegs, meant and fish, bread and pastries, drinks and organic products. Very tiny, 10 minutes is enough to visit
Rating: 5 / 5
Amazing restaurant and beautiful local produce market! The food at the restaurant was really fancy and absolutely delicious! Every meal was a real experience! They use local and seasonal ingredients sourced directly from the market. We ordered a 3-course meal which was definitely pricey but perfect for a celebration or special occasion. The staff a very attentive and very well organised. Booking a table is best as it gets very busy. The market is also very charming with fresh local veg, fish, meat, juice, cheese and other wonderful finds. Highly recommend and can't wait to be back!

Great little cafe/brunch spot. Had the Bacon Benedict with Avocado and freshly squeezed orange juice, which were both very good! All the staff were friendly and attentive. Overall, an enjoyable brunch and we’d definitely go again when visiting Canterbury.
Rating: 5 / 5
What an amazing gem this place is! Found it based on recommendations and so glad I got to try it on my visit to Canterbury. I got the veggie breakfast which has got to be up there with one of the best I’ve had. Special mention to the falafel balls and hummus. The ingredients were high quality and fresh and a lot of care and attention had gone into the breakfast. The coffee was lovely and it’s a great space with upstairs seating also available and if you’re lucky to get a window seat you can overlook the town.

Kitch is a very nice place in Canterbury. We had super tasty brunch, delicious veggie juice and tea. (And some cake for take away.) The quality, the service was also really high level. If you are in Canterbury, I recommend to try something from the menu.

Nice restaurant. It is at the same place as Kitch that offer normal brunch. You just need to ask for the Hungarian menu. We ordered one beef stew with nokedli and chicken paprika with rice. Both were delicious. We went there during lunch time. It was quite packed so it took a little long time to get the food. However, the food was lovely so it was worth the wait!

Friendly atmosphere. Good selection on the menu and well presented. A little dearer than we usually spend, but definitely worth a visit. We will be going back sometime

I have been here many times and always had a good experience. The food is delicious and staff helpful and friendly. The outside seating is on loose stone with some shade and inside are a few large tables for a big group. The venue is varied and GF and vegans are catered for.

Heavenly cakes. Happy & friendly staff. Tadpole makes a great meeting place for walks and is dog-friendly. [Update] Croque madame to die for and the most gorgeous lemon drizzle cake.

Oriole Cafe
Spitfire Ground St Lawrence, Canterbury CT1 3NY, UK | Cafe P: 07519 497966
Rating: 4.7 (48) Price Level:
Beautiful coffee shop with a cricket ground view. Sun is just facing the cafe. Planty of natural lights and lots of indoor plants inside. They have outdoor sitting and WiFi, too. They have allocated parking for the customers. Accessible toilate with separate baby change room . Also, a book shelf with books and a few toys and crayons for kids.
Rating: 5 / 5
Cafe with various choices and a perfect view outside of Kent cricket ground.
Rating: 4 / 5
Oriole is the kind of find you selfishly feel you don’t want to share while wanting to shout about because they deserve to succeed. I spotted the discrete chalk board beyond Sainsbury’s car park beyond the cricket club doors and ventured forth. Walked in and felt …wow! What a breath of fresh air! Spacious seating looking out on Kent cricket green. Literally a small window cleverly left ajar keeping air circulation feeling fresh and covid safe. Loved my flat white with oat and tuna melt, served with small side salad. And where else gives you a glass of fresh water to wash it all down. If your local, be sure to get your Oriole loyalty card. Oriole is an welcome oasis on a busy day,
Rating: 5 / 5
Perfect stop for coffee and a light lunch ☕️🥪 Tucked away in the corner of the Kent cricket ground Oriole Cafe next to the Sainsbury’s express. It’s a lively cafe with a good selection of brunch and light lunch options in addition to coffee, smoothies and chilled drinks. Parking is limited outside the cafe but there is additional space inside the cricket grounds.

Burgate Coffee House
43 Burgate, Canterbury CT1 2HW, UK | Coffee Shop P: 01227 764946
Rating: 4.2 (277) Price Level:
We were desperate for a good coffee and a local suggested this place. Located near the entrance to the cathedral (which was packed with students of all ages on excursions), we nestled into a table and ordered our long awaited our coffee. Looking at the soup a fellow diner was having I was somewhat jealous. Next time! Loved the quirkiness of this place with fun and interesting signage, cute decor and funky ambience. Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly. Good location. Lovely staff. We will return.
Rating: 5 / 5
Sat in a for a late lunch, ordered a gluten free pesto chicken sandwich and an iced oat chai latte. My friend got the grilled cheese with a flat white. Felt as though 15 quid was a bit expensive for my order - until the food was served! The sandwiches are massive and both my friend and I kept half for dinner. We both really enjoyed our meals! The staff were warm and welcoming, the cafe was relatively quiet for a Saturday at 12:45pm. There were a variety of cakes available as well, with a fair amount of gluten free and vegan options available. Staff clarified whether my gluten free sandwich order was due to an allergy or a preference. Overall, would recommend, especially for those with a gluten intolerance!

Great to stop off here a drink during our visit on a hot day
Rating: 4 / 5
Had a lovely morning coffee break here. The cafe was really clean and well presented with friendly staff. There's a great selection of cakes, hot drinks and pasty's. The pasty's and sausage rolls are all made in Cornwall and looked really nice. Cakes were fresh and moist with plenty of flavour

The coffe shop is great, with nice quality food inc sandwiches, cakes, drinks etc. On par with High Street chain coffee shops. Its good enough (unlike their BBQ hut which is poor).

The Korean Cowgirl, Riverside
The Riverside, Kingsmead Rd, Canterbury, Kent CT1 1BN, UK | Korean Restaurant P: 01227 467893
Rating: 4.3 (881) Price Level:
OVERVIEW Korea marinades Texas on the grill; worth a try for the BBQ meat lover! ADVICE * The “Smokehouse BBQ Board” for two is really for 3! With a side dish each, it was more than enough to fulfil and satisfy. PLUS + Authentic, unique, and eclectic menu. + The “Smokehouse BBQ Board” was delicious at a 4* level. Each cut of meat had a distinct flavourful seasoning. + The “Korean BBQ Sausage” was the most flavourful and tender sausage I have ever had! + The “Cowgirl Salad” was at a 5* level. A dynamic crunch of fresh and crispy vegetables coated in a soy marinade, perfectly balanced with orange slices. + The “Award Winning Cherry Bbq St Louis Char Siu Ribs” tasted like an award, with its unique sweet and savoury flavour. + The “Spicy Miso Ramen” was just ok as it was bland but plentiful, table of two consensus. + The “Bao Doughnut” was a must try! An eclectic and surprising combination that worked delightfully well. + Formally welcoming and genuinely friendly staff, always smiling! + Modern intimate interior that complemented the type of food served. + Walk-in dinner time availability. MINUS - The meat board could have included side dishes to balance the “meatiness”. - The "Texas Style Smoked Turkey" was dry and underseasoned, table of two consensus. - Overpriced menu, in addition to a 12.5% service charge tops London prices. - They do not accommodate meal alterations. - The restaurant could benefit from a quick, hassle-free table QR code payment method, i.e., the "Sunday" payments app. ORDER HISTORY Mains: * Smokehouse BBQ Board (for two) * Award Winning Cherry Bbq St Louis Char Siu Ribs * Spicy Miso Ramen Sides: * Cowgirl Salad * Rice * Kimchi Dessert: * Bao Doughnut

It was brilliant here. The staff were very kind and helpful and the atmosphere and design was really nice. The American smash burger was delicious and the fries were also lovely. In addition there was a lot of variety on the menu and it all sounded delicious. Overall I highly recommend coming here and hope to come back.

Went for lunch with friends- ordered basically everything on the menu- highlight were the brisket and the burnt ends, and the burger! Service was flawless- always checking in and being attentive - it’s the first time in a long time that I’ve had such good service! Hats off to (I’m sorry I think their hand was Bryan!) either way- fantastic food! Fantastic service and a great atmosphere. (Please excuse the picture! It all looked to good and we couldn’t wait start!)

This place is a mixture of Korean and Texan barbecue and the food is awesome. They have blended both styles and created some fantastic food. The chicken wings are as a great the pulled pork. I would recommend trying the platter which gives you a selection of meats. One of the best restaurants I have been to anywhere. It all seems to just work.

I just want to say thank you! Yesterday my family and I had a lovely time. :) We just popped in for a quick lunch, expecting a basic pud like service, but we were pleasantly surprised at how incredibly good everything was. Kind and welcoming service and delicious food. With my husband we shared a vegetable pie and a Nut roast and bought it was perfect! It's easily the best vegetarian lunch I had this year! My in-laws tried two of the fish dishes and they loved them. Can't recommend it enough! :)

We were in Canterbury for a two days, and usually we never go back to the same restaurant twice, but for this restaurant we did. In the afternoon we had 3 sets of appetizers who were delicious and for supper we had a chicken and cranberry pie, a salmon and cod pie and a Chicken & Bacon with white wine sauce, potatoes and mushrooms (Gluten Free). Our servers Izzy, Lizzie and Mo were really helpful and helped me figure out what I could eat, with the dishes that could be made Gluten Free. They were so nice and so helpful. We (all 3) recommend this restaurant. The garden in the back is super nice, near the river, and the inside has a rustic vibe that we all enjoyed!!
Rating: 5 / 5
Incredibly tasty food! I had the lamb chump and shared a camembert fritter with my partner. The food was amazing. Yes it is a tad pricy, but you definitely get what you pay for! The inside of the place is very quirky with loads of clocks on the walls, so a little cuckoo happens every now and then which is fun :) Staff was good and came around quickly when needed, and the cocktail I had was also very nice

This charming building built in 1500 AD, dinner did not disappoint. We were able to sit on the small terrace over looking the water. The roast beef is sliced thin but the Yorkshire pudding and thrice cooked roast potatoes were delicious.. They were served with the carrots, broccoli and peas cooked perfectly not sitting in soggy gravy. The lamb and rosemary meat pie was a blend of spices, savory with the delicate crust on top. Service was attentive and you did not feel rushed even though they were so busy. Loved watching the punting boats on the river.

Stag Coffee & Kitchen
Unit 10-11 Marlowe Arcade, Canterbury CT1 2TJ, UK | Brunch Restaurant P: 01227 908667
Rating: 4.3 (199) Price Level:
Nicely situated in the heart of Canterbury. Seating inside and out ( under cover) We had a very pleasant cup of Egyptian mint tea at a very affordable price. And the staff member was extremely efficient and pleasant.
Rating: 5 / 5
Nice location, and there are many options for cocktails 🍹. I loved the Halloween 🎃 decorations. They had 1+1 cocktails offer going on. Loved it. However taste of the food could've been a bit better. Didn't feel fresh.
Rating: 5 / 5
The comedy night at the Stag was a great evening out! Decent drinks and a great bit of entertainment from the stand ups. Definitely recommend a visit for a chilled time and a good laugh.
Rating: 4 / 5
Have been here before and enjoyed it this time, not quite as good The ordering is easy, and drinks are delivered to your table when ready, disappointingly today these we tepid rather than hot. Nice ideas for three different bruschetta, we chose the mushroom one, and it looked great but again on the cool side. Previously excellent experience, so we have blended the rating
Rating: 5 / 5
I recently visited Stag and was absolutely blown away by their breakfast options! Not only did they have an incredible variety of dishes, but they also had an impressive selection of drinks to choose from. The quality of the food was exceptional - everything was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavour. The atmosphere was also lovely, with friendly staff and a welcoming ambiance. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking to enjoy a delicious breakfast in a cozy and inviting setting. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!

Great location! Michael and his team are really kind, and provide healthy food and great coffee! I recommend highly to visit! Side note: if you visit: 1 - If you bring your own cup, you can get a 20p discount, or a large drink for the price of a small one 2 - They have a fidelity card with 9 hot beverages bought, the 10th one is for free!
