Hollyhock Vegetarian Fairtrade Cafe

If you are looking for that hidden fairytale cafe on a day out in Richmond .. this is where you want to be. Nestled in the trees of terrace gardens of Richmond hill overlooking the Thames is a gem of a stop for your cortado or English tea. The exterior terrace has an elevated view of the gardens where you spend quite a few hours or if it gets cold the interior is cosy with a rarely seen wood burner for that homely appeal. We didn’t try the food but there is a full range of vegan options of pies, quiche and salads. Dog friendly! Well worth the visit!

Absolutely charming cafe! Went in on a chilly day and the had the fire running! It feels like you’re stepping into a children’s fairytale book- it’s tucked away sitting among trees & overlooking the river. Staff were friendly and I like that it’s a vegetarian specific shop. I ordered the quiche which was tasty, though nothing out of this world & a tiny portion, and at almost £8 felt a bit overpriced. I may have ordered the wrong thing, but overall a nice experience

Great place to grab a hot chocolate to enjoy while you walk through the parks or hang out and look at green space. Fun cute shop. The food looked great and would love to try it sometime soon. Hot chocolate was delicious!!!

I recently visited this café, and it felt like stepping into a secret garden. Surrounded by nature, it has a fairy-tale atmosphere where you can watch squirrels and birds. The apple pie was absolutely delicious, it’s definitely a treat I’ll return for.

I absolutely adore this coffee house! They serve the best specialty coffee in town, and their attention to detail in crafting each cup is truly remarkable. The atmosphere here is so inviting; it's the perfect spot to relax, work, or catch up with friends. The friendly staff and cozy ambiance make every visit a delight. My favourite coffee spot in Richmond! They make a great iced latte, and the cafe itself is a great spot if you need to sit and get some work done on a laptop. There is a decent amount of table spaces & charger points. The bathroom is also very clean.
Rating: 5 / 5
Good coffee, nice modern atmosphere. The coffee would not make it to my top but it was decent
Rating: 5 / 5
The best coffee in Richmond! This place gives 5 stars service. Cleanliness, speed of service, high quality coffee, the level of attention to detail in customer service is top-notch. I and my wife tried cheesecake and croissant with apricot with tasteful black tea. All were perfect. Prices were decent. Definitely will come back again. Cheers!

Came in on New Year’s Day for a drink and was pretty happy with this place. Hot chocolate was good but not great (and received a free one because they’d mistakenly made two); cakes were also good but not exceptional. Paid £8.30 in total for the drink and cake so make of that what you will. Staff were really lovely and I feel harsh only giving 4/5 it was probably more of a 4.3 so I have rounded down…I’m not a coffee drinker (am aware this is a coffee shop) but I think they are more suited to that so worth trying if you’re more focused on the coffee but maybe look elsewhere for a cake and hot chocolate…

I can’t recommend this cozy cafe in Richmond enough! Their buttermilk pancakes with berries are simply perfection—light, fluffy, and topped with the freshest, juiciest berries that add just the right amount of sweetness. Each bite feels like a little piece of heaven. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with friendly staff who make you feel right at home. Whether you’re stopping by for a leisurely brunch or grabbing a quick bite, this spot delivers every time. It’s become my go-to place for a delicious treat. Highly recommend!
Rating: 5 / 5
The food and drinks were delicious. Located across the Richmond Station, very strategic area. The service was ok. Too crowded on weekends. Not a great option for big groups (more than 6 people) on weekends. They have limited time for customers to finish the food. There's no toilet there. You can park your car at Richmond Station Car Park, or Old Deer Car Park or at the street parking behind the restaurant.

After a big long walk at Richmond park, we went to Brunch and Brew for some food. It was our first time visiting and we picked here mainly cause it’s doggy friendly. Also wanted a good cup of coffee and brunchy type food. It’s quite spacious inside with some outdoor seating. Perfect for us cause our dog is a big medium sized dog. We really enjoyed the food and coffee. They use Curious Roo Coffee beans, a local coffee roaster. The staff are nice, one gave our dog a big dog treat! Definitely would come here again if I’m in Richmond.

Brunch and Brew – A Hidden Gem in Richmond! I can’t recommend Brunch and Brew enough! Every visit feels like a treat, thanks to the warm and welcoming atmosphere created by Will (William), the owner and head chef. The care and attention to detail in every dish make this my go-to spot for a hearty and satisfying start to the day. The ambiance is just as wonderful – cosy, relaxed, and inviting. Whether you’re dining alone, catching up with friends, or just looking for a peaceful spot to enjoy your meal, Brunch and Brew ticks all the boxes. Thank you, Will, for consistently delivering a top-notch experience. I look forward to every visit and can’t wait to come back again soon!

Went here for a lunch pre-theatre and took the set lunch as it was genuinely the most appealing! Everything was delicious - the tagliatelle was especially fantastic. The only mild grumble was that the calamari starter was not that crisp - but my mum does like to find fault… 🙄

Craving authentic Italian that transcends the typical kitchen? Look no further than Bacco Ristorante Italiano in Richmond! Situated conveniently across from Richmond Station, this gem offers a delightful escape into a warm, inviting atmosphere that feels like a true slice of Emilia-Romagna. Upon arrival, we were greeted by friendly staff, the aroma of fresh herbs, and the display of a world-class wine selection, all of which set the stage for a delightful culinary experience. The recent refurbishment created a stylish yet comfortable space, perfect for any occasion – from pre-theatre bites to a leisurely evening. The calming ambiance is sure to impress, and even your little ones will feel at ease. Everything we tried was bursting with fresh, high-quality ingredients. We couldn't resist starting with the complimentary bread service. This wasn’t your average supermarket loaf. The warm, delicious bread accompanied by top-notch olive oil, cheese, and olives provided a delightful prelude to our meal. My wife tried the pasta with black truffle and seafood, while I indulged in their luscious lasagna. Even our daughter enjoyed personalized ravioli with a little bit of everything from both of us plus arancini, and zucchini fritti. Whether you're a local or visiting a theater, Bacco Ristorante Italiano is a must-try. With its fantastic food, warm atmosphere, and exceptional service, it's no wonder this restaurant has become a mainstay in the area. Ditch the ordinary and experience a taste of true culinary magic at Bacco!

Great food. I’m not a vegetarian but I love the veggie offerings. The Full veggie breakfast is generous. I’ve just had the fritters which are delicious and generous too. Love it. Friendly local and rustic. A treasure amongst the generic chains. Highly recommended!

I LOVED this place. 10/10. Veggie full English breakfast was one of the best I’ve ever had. Perfect for after a long walk in Richmond park. AND they gave us free mint tea. AND the coffee was delicious

We had the "Big Breakfast", Pancakes with the grilled banana and bacon (BEST PANCAKES I'VE EVER HAD!). Service was fast, the owners and serves were lovely and very welcoming. Definitely pop to if you're in Richmond.

I had a wonderful experience here. The gluten free desserts are absolutely divine. I had an almond butter bar, which was one of the best treats I’ve ever had! They are all homemade. The owner is lovely, and she even sent me home with a free extra treat. Coffee is also excellent. While I didn’t eat off of the main menu, I saw that it had many gluten free and vegan options. I would highly recommend this cafe to anyone, but especially those with dietary restrictions. I would go out of my way to visit Butter Beans again, and will definitely be back!

We came for early breakfast at 7.15. I didn’t expect much, but the breakfast was delicious, big and reasonably priced. I ordered Acai bowl that I never tried before and expected a granola type of thing. It was nothing like that! So much better, at least for me who does not like heavy breakfast! Can’t recommend enough: light, fresh, fruity, natural! My friend had avocado toast with egg and salmon topping. That was a generous topping! Coffee was very decent too and the staff was kind to add a happy face to my friend’s coffee (maybe because she was very young, teenager). Will come again and probably make this our breakfast destination.

Cafe Macarong

Lovely little Café, great quiet atmosphere and decor, PERFECT Matcha latte, brilliant iced bubble tea (I had the classic) at a reasonable price (£4.90), vegan milk options available for a charge (50p). Great find.

Great vibes here only! They make a great coffee and have such yummy cakes! Let me start of by saying that the staff here seem to be very chill and so no one seems anxious. I had a wonderful lady serve me and she was attentive and sweet. I’ve also come here for lunches before and id highly recommend many of their food items. Tables can feel a little sticky and unclean though. Overall I cannot complain. Edit: I’ve tried a few more food items from the menu here! So for the cookie, if you’re looking for more of a cake cookie then this would be for you, if not then this won’t be your cup of tea. The image I’ve taken shows the inside of the cookie which is more cake like. This wasn’t for me, so I personally will not be picking this up again. I’ve also tried the gluten free chocolate cake and my goodness. The has 3 different textures to it which combines wonderfully. All their sliced triangular cakes are not too sweet, and this one was also no exception here. When you have this, it’s more of a denser cake so I would recommend this as their denser type of dessert where you’re looking for a decedent desserts. If you’re also looking for a delicious and not too sweet treat, try the Oreo cheesecake. One of my favourites! I’ve tried their boba tea, can’t say that I loved the undercooked boba, but will give it a shot another time as this was during the evening where I picked one up. UPDATE: turns out it was a one off as the next time I came here it was decent! A little pricey.. but still decent; it will fill the craving you have for bubble tea without a doubt.

Friendly baristas. Good coffee and pastries. A modern and minimalist vibe. Kiss the Hippo is a lovely cafe to visit in Richmond. Very centrally located too.

Overall: ★★★★☆ A solid four stars for this spotlessly clean coffee shop in Richmond. The coffee was good. Above average.,Service was also good. You’ll find Kiss the Hippo directly opposite Waitrose a moment from its previous location on George Street. Food: Coffee shop with usual pastries on a glass shelf What I liked: • They sell Pump Street chocolate. Premium! • Good, friendly service • Spotlessly clean • Very slick set up • Nice simple menu • Lovely, simple layout • Nice range of merch • Very good coffee (the main event!) What I didn’t like: • Quite high price point • Could be considered too sterile for some • The correlation between a hippo and coffee Do I recommend going? YES Will I go again? YES Was it good value? NO Price Point: $$

Specialty coffee extracted beautifully across a variety of drinks. I had a Brazilian single origin cortado and sampled lattes with both dairy and oat. All were brilliant but the way that blend went with the textured milk was divine. They had a great selection of home brewing equipment on sale too should you be a hobbyist. Wonderful!

We had an incredible dining experience at this restaurant! The chicken was perfectly cooked—juicy, tender, and full of flavor. The salad was fresh, crisp, and balanced beautifully with its dressing, while the fries were golden and delightfully crispy. Every dish was clearly prepared with care and attention to detail. A special shoutout to Matilda, who was absolutely incredible! Her friendly demeanor, attentiveness, and warm energy made our experience even more enjoyable. We loved the high quality roast chicken and sauces, salads, epic roast potatoes and mash. It was such a wonderful surprise to discover Cocotte. If you’re in Richmond and are fortunate enough to find yourself around the White Swan - go there. In fact, plan it! Such a cool pub. Well run. Excellent food. Great atmosphere. Service is outstanding! Also … pop down to the Thames and do the walk into Richmond or down to Kew … and pop in for a beer in the way back! Super memorable pub! You’ll love it!

An excellent Christmas dinner! The portion size was more than generous, the roast potatoes were crisp and tasted as though they were cooked in duck/goose fat, the turkey wasn’t dry, the stuffing was flavoursome, and the cost was very reasonable. The atmosphere is lovely and I’ll definitely be back in 2025!

A local pub vibe with amazing food that’s nestled into a residential quiet area Of Richmond! Elevated pub food and knowledgeable staff. We didn’t have a reservation and didn’t feel super welcome at first, but we sat in the back garden for a pint and a table opened up. They got us in and all was well…they even gave us a free chips because it was late and they’d cooked up too much! We would take the walk down from the Richmond Hill Hotel all over again! We loved The White Swan!
Rating: 5 / 5
Cute country pub in Richmond, tucked away on quiet side road. We sat out the front and had the classic cheeseburger which was cooked to perfection, the French fries side were excellent too. Big beer selection, and friendly staff, overall will be back! I would say- we arrived in our cycle lyrca on a Friday night which was admittedly too informal to sit inside so we were lucky to be able to get a table out the front.
