Traditional Fish and Chips served by families of Cypriot descent is part of the culture I grew up with. These warm, Caring craftsmen of Britainās staple are keeping the tradition alive here in Kent at A & D Fisheries. The format is simple, fish, chips, salt, vinegar, boxed or paper wrapped. Fresh as and delicious. Want something a little different I highly recommend the Mushy Peas Fritters and battered Hollumi.

This pub dates back to 1378. Itās a low beamed building so watch your head. Menu was good and food delicious. Staff helpful and friendly. There was a real fireplace burning. Itās a very kids friendly and dog friendly place. Customer car park round the back and beer garden for warmer months.

We spent Christmas Day at The Angel. We had such a lovely time. The 3 course food was excellent and the service was so aware this enabled us to relax and enjoy. We were the last to leave as we were having such a good time. The stable area was decorated amazingly and set out to make the Christmas spirit. Well done and thank you.

Not a bad little cafe, staff attentive and polite, food of average quality served nice and hot. Good prices

Good, quick spotlessly clean friendly cafe. It's in a parade of shops right next to a car park so space to park. It opens at 07:30 during the week. Food wise it does the usual all day breakfasts. But also does burgers, sandwiches, meat balls, panini's, and salads. It's waitress service and they were polite and efficient. Food arrived quickly too. Cards are not accepted so make sure you have cash with you. If you don't there is cash machine in the parade of shops opposite.

An absolutely outstanding pub! While it can get busy at times, the exceptional service from the superb managers and amazing staff truly stands out. The food is not only delicious but also very reasonably priced. This place is a gem, and I couldnāt recommend it more highly!

What do you look for in a English country pub? Banter from raucous locals? Awesome ale? Historic decorations? This place, it has it all. It also has a new Spring food menu, 2 courses for Ā£25 or 3 for Ā£30. The food is a classic pub affair with a touch of flair. So come, enjoy the beer garden or sit indoors and indulge your senses in the splendid English atmosphere. Update, they now have sensational Smoke House food. 25 of your English pounds will buy enough cooked meat to feed a small village.

Loved it. From the front, you would never believe this pub. Massive back garden, huge covered area with two large screen TVs . Another covered area plus tons of seating in the uncovered garden area. There is an outside bar and plenty of staff around to look after you. Food is available and prices are fair for the area. It has a nice ambience, lively music playing in the back ground, nice crowd, definitely a place you could bring your kids or your granny. Plenty of younger people there, having a good time but being respectful. Inside the pub is oldy worldy but has a charm. As the day was a pleasant one, most people were enjoying the autumn sunshine. First visit here but will return. Staff were friendly, food came up in good time and was good quality.

The roast here is absolutely delicious!! Iāve had it loads of times on busy, and quiet weekends and itās always top tier. They have food for kids too. There are two open fires (I think) and a lovely warm atmosphere. The people inside are nice and welcoming and all the staff are all nice. Thereās an outdoor seating area which is covered by a tent which is perfect. Dogs are also allowed here which is good. Thereās parking directly outside the pub, and a massive carpark less than a minute walk away too. Love it here!

A lovely old fashioned pub/restaurant just outside of Maidstone,Kent. I parked in their large free car park. Note that there are no parking restrictions. The pub is an old building with large oak beams, watch you don't bump your head in some areas. There are plenty of tables and I would imagine the area around the lovely open fire is rarely empty during the cold months. There is also a large outside seating area which is patio styled with plenty of wooden tables. The pub is run by Greene King and is more upmarket than usual and this is reflected in the menu and the pricing. I had some nachos which was a large portion and the tortilla chips were home made ( see pic ) very nice but at Ā£9.75 the most I've paid in a Greene King pub. I saw various meals come to tables and all looked good and it's not all chips, chips, chips. They have the two meals deal but it's set at Ā£14.99 hear which again is on the higher side but portions are generous. They still have some great offers on drinks with cocktails and spritzers at just Ā£5.99. All staff I came into contact with were polite and friendly. This would be a great place for special occasions as the surroundings are lovely. Visited on 10/12/24 and was a little disappointed..trying to run everything with just one member of staff simply did not work. Tables were left with plates and glasses and there were times when no one was at the bar to serve

It was a very lovely experience down there. Iāve been to the restaurant twice. 5 of the photos were on my Samsung in which the photo quality isnāt great, the other 5 on my iPhone where the photo quality is better. I went there with my classmates and teachers. Originally, we was supposed to go in December 2022, but due to the snow and learning from home, we couldnāt go. However, we eventually went there in January 2023. I had fish and chips along with garlic bread and an ice cream sundae (pics from my Samsung phone which the photo quality was poor) and it was lovely. The second time I went was in July of 2023, again with my classmates and teachers. We had the meal out hence one of the teachers was leaving our school. This time I had a starter being chicken strips. My main meal was the same delicious fish and chips. One of my friends gave me a waffle which was beautiful. (Second time I went, photos were on my iPhone and quality was even better). The staff were very friendly. I would 100000% go there again :)

The Wealden Hall Public House, located at London Road in East Malling, Aylesford, is a historically significant building dating back to the late 14th century. Originally a farmhouse, it has been modified over centuries and now serves as a restaurant. The building's main block showcases exposed timber framing with curved braces and brick infilling, characteristic of its medieval origins. The service and solar ends are jettied forward on brackets and joists, and the structure includes a central recess supported by two curved braces, plain tiled hipped roofs with gablets, and various architectural features like a dragon post and a gabled stair-tower at the rear. In the mid-17th century, an extension was added, enhancing its historical and architectural value. This addition features a timber-framed upper floor, rubble stone ground floor with brick dressings, and a central ridge stack. Internally, the hall retains a collar-purlin roof with a crown post, and there are indications that it once had an upper-floor hall. The Wealden Hall is a Grade II* listed building, recognized for its architectural and historic significance, and has been officially listed since February 1987. Excellent food, and drinks, with a warm welcome & friendly atmosphere. The staff is attentive when entering this establishment offering a cosy, traditional pub ambience which enhances their dining experience. Regarding the food, the menu offers a variety of traditional British pub dishes: steak and ale pie, lamb shank, and fish and chips. I specifically commend the chicken and ham pie being a standout dish. Drink options are also well-rated, with a good selection of ales, lagers, and wines. A large outside seating area with parasols. Overall, the Wealden Hall I highly recommend for those seeking hearty, traditional British fare in a historic and pleasant setting. Dog-friendly... š

We have dined here a few times. Sadly a little while ago they suffered a devastating fire but have reopened again. The pub is an old building with plenty of character. The jewel in its crown is being located in the lovely village of Aylesford right next to the river Medway. Their outside area offers lovely views of the river and old bridge crossing. They have a good selection of beers, wines and spirits. IMO they have upped their game on the food front, most patrons were there to eat and we saw some very tasty meals passing by us. We are being healthy ATM so went for tuna nicoise salad. Our came a lovely tuna steak with new potatoes and a leafy salad with olives, tomato and onion. They have some vegetarian and vegan options on their menu too. Service is not quick but I would rather have fresh cooked good food than zapped, poor quality food. We also treated ourselves to a frozen strawberry daiquiri slushy, very nice on a warm day. There is a free car park a five minute walk away, no parking on the street outside. In summary, a nice meal, not rushed . Staff except one were friendly.

This place is a GEM. We walked from Rochester to Aylesford today on the Pilgrims Way. Got soaked. Were recommended this place at the Priory and had a superb end to our walk here. Amazing service. Think owners are new. Very friendly. Accommodated us even though they were busy on a Sunday. Food was superb. Amazing vegetarian Sunday roast. Good wine and awesome dessert. So overall, 5/5 for food. Service - so friendly and sincere. Waitress and the owner looked after us. We chatted and just had a nice cosy feel to the place. I really hope people disregard the previous reviews and give this place a chance. The new owners are lovely and the food was amazing. I left my handbag and scarf there by accident as I was putting my coats on and had a backpack with me. Bless them. They sent Harley running after us to the station (as we had chatted and they knew we were heading back to London) to give me my handbag. Iām so grateful for the hospitality and their kindness and effort. Itās such a nice feeling to have a glow in the heart that good people do still exist. Thank you guys so much for giving us such an awesome evening. A great end to a lovely day. Iāve been trying to call to say thank you but canāt get thru on the phone. I will be in Aylesford later in the month to do the next section of the Pilgrims Way. I will definitely pop in to say my thanks in person. Please keep up the amazing friend service and the good food.

Rode past a few years ago on way to Labour at the new EMRC site being built and thought it was for employees only. Discovered today whilst looking for a local cafe to take the partner and son for a quick bite, that it is open to public too, so thought we'd give it a try. Turned out to be a fantastic decision. Lovely spot with the friendliest staff you'll find anywhere. Food top notch and reasonably priced and best of all it's HOT. Plenty of space for meetings or a quiet bite, the staff having meetings are barely audible and very respectful of the surroundings even when sat one table over. It is clear the owners and managers of this establishment care about what they do. It's a whole package breakfast/lunch experience, lovely landscaped surroundings, wonderful food, and a service to match. You can access it on foot or by car, and is only a short distance from the nearest bus stop and train station. 5*s isn't enough. Will be coming back again VERY soon and I can't wait to visit when the orchards are in bloom.

An impromptu visit recently with my children but was unknowingly in the window between breakfast & lunch. The server was very helpful and made me a ham salad sandwich as after the walk from East Malling I didnt have much time. The Fresh loaves of bread on sale were great value & the selection of cakes very tempting Would recommend better signage on foot as I walked the whole way round following the road signs not realising it was in the middle of the buildings

Visited this branch today with my family. All the front staff are lovely, bubbly and efficient. We sat down and managed to spilled my husband's drink. Went and ask for help, Victoria managed to spot and helped me all the way for clearing my mess without any hesitation. Of course, I helped her as I can't just sit in one corner whilst she's cleaning the mess I made. She's amazing. She helped with passion, calmly and professionally. Thank you so much Victoria. You're an asset to this branch.
