The Best Golf Courses in Alford, Lincolnshire, United Kingdom (2025)

First time there. The moment I turned into the car park and saw the clubhouse and green I knew it was going to be a great place.

Played at Sleaford golf club for the first time today, certainly won't be the last. The greens are amazing, so true and roll perfectly, you feel like you can hole them from all distances. Easily as good as the likes of hollinwell and coxmoor in Nottinghamshire, or horsley lodge and Breadsall priory in Derbyshire etc. The fairways are generous but stray off them and the aestheticly pleasing whispy rough hurts, as it should. Royal st george's style! Throughly enjoyed the golf course. The members we spoke to were welcoming and helpful. Lovely surroundings too, enjoying a drink outside the clubhouse and watching players hit onto the lovely 18th Green. You won't be disappointed!

I have found Sleaford golf club the one of the friendliest and most inviting golf clubs in Lincolnshire! Being from the South of England I have struggled to make connections in my new town but after playing a match against Sleaford for my current club I have been invited on numerous occasions by this year captain, Paul, to play and get to know the members. The course is a fantastic layout and I have enjoyed it every time I’ve played it - plus you can see it’s constantly improving. I will be joining at the end of the year, as an overall experience this has been more inviting and is what I was looking for when we moved to the area. Great people and a great course!

Lovely place and very friendly members. Course is tough but fair. Played in 50kph winds in the morning. My ham eggs and chips was very good.

I have to begin by explaining that the 4 stars are mainly due to the fact that the room allocated for the seminar I attended there was not really appropriate for any such functions BUT I have been made aware that there is a new room being prepared for business purposes and would wait and see whether that is more functional. The staff is pleasant and made us (trainers and staff attending the session) feel very welcomed. The facility is very clean and the tea and coffee station was looked after very well (regularly replenished). A big downside for me is the parking outside the venue; as it was raining we needed to be as close as possible and the parking is not surfaced appropriately hence my car was a bit stuck when leaving. Still that is not to say that this is not a beautiful place and I am sure that golfers do enjoy their sessions there!

Golf course being reclaimed and repaired by a host of volunteers. Well worth visiting! Had a fine morning walking around the course (following the zig zag direction of all the random balls hit by various members of the golfers in our group!) The absolute best part of the day was the fabulous roast lunch cooked fresh by yet more volunteer staff. I highly recommend the meal if you don't feel the need to play golf! We will be back.

Had a breakfast meeting there today, very very good quality, would thoroughly recommend.

Just had Sunday lunch absolutely fantastic everything cooked to perfection I think you would win a competition for the most food on one plate!!!! Unfortunately we had no room for desserts but they too looked amazing and plentiful portion size. If you book don't have breakfast before you go!!! Great place to visit. Enjoyed golf range, restaurant and children's play park. Lovely surroundings that are clean pretty and well maintained. We will definitely visit again.

Lovely golf course. Not long but greens great condition( could do with a leaf blower)golf shop nice and lovely bar and restaurant on site serving great food with lovely staff. Been coming here many years and gets better every year
