A lovely place to be, with amazing gardens and lots of room. Service needs a bit of work. We were a party of 7, and they left it 2 of us when taking our drinks order. They left cracking out of a pork roast. They left the coleslaw off a veggie burger dish. And they served 6 water glasses for 7 people. But I have to say they corrected all these things with good grace when they were pointed out. The food was definitely good. Just a little more attention to detail needed maybe. But thank you for a good meal.
My friend lives locally and took me there for drinks. What a beautiful pub!! At the entrance there is a Mill inside and the decoration is gorgeous. We sat in the huge garden beer and had a great time. I could see the function room above with a wedding party. There is a lake between the outside area of the pub.Summertime must be great.
Booked table for 2 and we were put in a room with no other people in it throughout our time there. First drink order was wrong when brought to table and after ordering our meals, we had a long wait for the food to arrive and then they were brought out one at a time! Food itself was not too bad but the portion size for the prices charged were a little off we thought and mentioned this to the server, even with this said, we tried the desserts to see how they shaped up too but still thought price was a little high compared to other places who served same things ( and presented better too)
All in all we enjoyed our time here and the management waived cost of our hot beverages and my wrongly served first drink as a way of apology which I thought was a very nice gesture and received with thanks. We will return at another time and hope others will book as the venue itself is really nice.
Lovely walk there over the common and stunning setting to have a pint and meze sharing platter with a few padron peppers. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Dogs welcome.
