Great golf course on the edge of Derbyshire. Lots of different styles holes to challenge every level. Some of the views from the course are absolutely stunning. The par three 16th which is 230 yards off the yellows, down a steep hill overlooking the Manchester valley, on any given day, can be played with an eight iron, or as much as three wood, depending on the wind. Truly a fantastic course for a very enjoyable days golf.

Very enjoyable course with plenty of interest. We held our Captain's Day here and the staff were funny, efficient and attentive. Top class 27 holes of golf and a decent price too.

You will not be disappointed with the scenery at this place. Good course but a tough if playing in to the wind.

Such a beautiful 18 hole course, perfect for all golfers, variety of pars, some more challenging than others. I’m still in my first year so call myself a beginner and I like the different challenges of this course. Staff are friendly, the club room is clean and has a good selection of drinks and food. Buggies available and the pro shop is always well stocked. I had my very first lesson with Sam the Pro here and I am glad I chose here as it is bigger than my home course.

Billed as a very welcoming course, and guess what? It really is! Enjoyable autumnal round, members very welcoming, super lunch in the bar, recommend.

Fairways at Chevin Golf Club had the most delicious steak pie I have ever had. It had chunky beef pieces covered in thick, rich gravy. This is definitely a place for pie!

We play a lot of open competitions a year and two of the Lad's had never played Chevin before so I booked us into an open. The day from start to finish was second to none.We were made to feel extremely welcome by all the staff from the club house to the well stocked Pro shop then a starter that was a credit to the club. We had a top notch breakfast then a round on one of the very best courses we have played this year. Fairways were just like walking on carpet complemented by true greens that posed some issues to work out the line in short a top course. I would very strongly recommend this class golf club.

We are from Northern Ireland and touring Peak District. We stumbled on this. If you want great views of Bakewell town and surrounding area, combined with a hilly walk in the Dales while playing a game of golf on a super wee reasonably priced course, this is the place for you. A hidden gem. Also, if you haven’t eaten there you really, really should … it is amazing and also very, very reasonable! Finally, the staff are so friendly. If it was my local I wouldn’t go anywhere else. A great memory made. Thank you.

Delicious food at very reasonable prices. Set on the hill overlooking Bakewell and the Wye valley below. Catch it on a sunny afternoon for alfresco dining in stunning sorroundings. Note, it is open to non golf club members but booking advised.

Turned up on spec and only wanted to play 9 holes. " It's cheap anyway, but you have to pay for 18, £20" I was told. Quick look on the web and we booked via a 3rd party website for £10.99 each. Go figure! Nice undulating course with some challenges. It's only 9 holes so you go round twice if playing 18, with different tee offs. I will return for an 18 soon

Played early morning earlier this week. The pro and greens staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating. They were all so proud to showcase their course and for good reason! The front 9 was out of this world with unbelievable holes in every day, cannot wait to come back!

Excellent Experience at Matlock Golf Course I recently had the pleasure of playing at Matlock Golf Course, and it was a fantastic experience. The course is in great condition, deceptively looking easy but offering plenty of challenges for all skill levels. Every hole had its unique set of obstacles, keeping the round exciting and engaging. The facilities were top-notch, and the food was excellent, making it a well-rounded day out. A special mention to the professional, Christian Goodman, who was incredibly helpful and offered some valuable tips that improved our round. I highly recommend this course to any golfer!

Played this course today, scenery beautiful. Lovely picturesque back drop but the course is not for beginners. The par 3’s are long, the par 4’s are long and the fair ways are packed with their own challenges. On top of this the greens are elevated with run offs too. Not a single flat hole, either steep uphill or steep downhill. Its a great challenge if you fancy yourself as a player, just not begginer friendly. The staff were nice and friendly, the place itself will no doubt be a good course to return to when i improve. But i play off 25 and today was tough. Thanks for having us Matlock Golf Club

Another great golf course that I have been to up North. Superb condition around all of the course and not just the greens. Will need to use good course management around it as some of the holes have a camber on the fairways so its quite fun and some of the greens can be quite exciting too. The food in the club house is really really good especially washed down with the beer on tap and the staff are very nice. Will be going down again in the next week and I can't wait!! ________________________________ Update: I have fallen in love with this club. Have played all over the UK but feel so great coming here. Brilliant course that is made perfect by the atmosphere of the staff and members alike. Have had great interaction leading to purchases of a new driver and hybrid. Didn't try to sell me just anything but gave me various options of clubs to try and see what suits me. Look forward to purchasing my irons soon and having some more of the great food and drink to quench my thirst after an enjoyable session on this picturesque golf course. _________________________________ EDIT: 14/10/2022 This is my go to golf course now. They are currently in the process of changing the first two or three holes by adding features to them. This will make it more interesting for the more advanced golfers by adding bunkers for the longer hitters as they will come into play on the first hole. The second hole par 3 will incorporate larger bunkers around the green so accuracy will be key. By doing these changes, this course is coming on leaps and bounds and I love every moment being here. You will not be disappointed and the staff are absolutely great to deal with. It's my second home now so to all of you that are thinking about playing this course , do it. You won't be disappointed. Just be patient as you might not be be able to play the first two holes at the moment but I feel this is going to be worth the wait.

Fantastic. Came for the opening of the new farmhouse kitchen and it was fabulous. The food was delicious, prompt and hot. The staff were friendly, welcoming and professional. This is going to be one hard spot to beat. Thanks for everything, Olli

Came her today for champagne breakfast for my wife's birthday, food was amazing although the portions were large, not a complaint! Service was excellent and staff very friendly and attentive. We've been before and would definitely come again. 100% recommend it. Well done everyone 👏 👍

Our first time in the new restaurant and I have to say it didn’t disappoint. What a change, the design is a huge improvement from before, they’ve created a welcoming and contemporary restaurant which is matched with a varied and interesting menu. And so lovely to look out over the stunning golf course. The food was good, so was the service. Looking forward to our next visit, would definitely recommend!

Played a society day at Erewash Valley Golf Club excellent day out. Staff and members friendly and welcoming. Played mid July during the heat wave, course in good nick, very challenging course with a variety of holes, especially Valley par 3's (4+5). Well worth a visit and return

Played in the Kestrel today and the course was in superb condition. Greens are receptive and fast, bunkers have sand in. All in all it was a real treat. The course has some stunning holes and there aren't any duds. I enjoyed it so much I'd considering defecting from my current club if there was bike parking (I prefer to enjoy 2 pints after my round!), which brings me to my final compliment: the bar has well kept real ale. Play here, you'll enjoy it!

Had a great breakfast here with family after my father's funeral. It was his club for 40 years and it seemed appropriate. Food was great. Nice place. Good staff. Great service.

Great course, facilties, bar, food, beer, and all reasonably priced. Love the back to back 5s to start, then to follow that Holes 4 and 5 are spectacular back to back 3s. Would highly recommend.
