One of my favourite spots in London. Even in Battersea Park on a sunny weekend, most people don’t know it is there

This used to be a "secret garden" when we were kids over twenty five years ago. No longer a secret thanks to social media and technology, however still our little hidden gem, when we can get a seat. The garden is flawlessly maintained by volunteer gardeners, thank you for your selfless efforts. *Please respect this area by keeping it clean and by not being selfish in picking any plants or flowers*.

I love this space in Battersea Park, the birds are very inquisitive, and the flowers were outstanding last week, I'm inspired, and my spirit lifted through the peace and tranquility of the space. Don't forget to take some bird seed or nuts for the squirrels.

Such a pretty garden at Battersea park. Really enjoyed ourselves. Free to enter. Cute squirrels, ducks and birds all around. Need to be careful with the squirrels they kinda come near with an attack mode 😆. Garden is really pretty to visit during spring with all the flowers blooming.

Absolutely delighted with the fantastic work Sterling Landscapes (Alex, Nathan and team) do for us on a regular basis. Always polite, professional and extremely tidy. Sterling Landscapes really help us out with the larger jobs in the garden I can’t manage myself such as pruning trees, large shrubs and mulching. Very happy with the service. Rebecca

It was the first time that I had used Sterling Landscapes. I needed some trees pruned.Three very cheerful, and above all knowledgeable, young men arrived, and had done the work and removed the arisings in record time. Not easy when everything had to be transported through the house. I shall definitely use them again.. Pat.

Virginie from SGD was able to materialize the plans we had for our garden in a way that exceeded all our expectations. She understood our needs and taste right from the start and went above and beyond to create a beautiful, well thought garden that completely matched our style. Not only did she guide us with her ideas, plant and design knowledge but she took on the project entirely from start to finish, warranting a quick and efficient execution of the works from the design stages through to the planting of our garden which was done beautifully by her. She is the garden fairy and we cannot recommend her more.

I had the pleasure to work with Virginie to rebuild and redesign my whole garden for several months. The garden is quite large, and Virginie not only has a great design capability, but also refurbished it with pots and a lovely modern fountain and oversaw the gardenrs to implement her project. The project was on time and budget, and she has always been very professional and responsive. I can highly recommend Square Garden Design.

Virginie from SGD was extremely helpful in making the most of our very reduced garden. Although we had a vision of what we wanted originally, she was able to guide us and sort out what would be the most practical but also look the best. Virginie was very dedicated, committed and came up with inventive, beautiful solutions and we love our garden. We highly recommend SGD

Chris and the team totally exceeded our expectations when they transformed our tiny London garden into a beautiful and practical space for both adults & kids. Chris was incredibly patient as went on a bit of a journey to figure out what we wanted, really listening to us and giving us expert advice on a solution that would fit our lifestyle and priorities. It was a real partnership from beginning to end and Chris kept us informed at all times throughout the project. The team worked tirelessly to get the garden finished on time and were a joy to have around - polite, punctual, professional, and extremely hard-working. Would highly recommend Harrington Porter for any garden project!

We were recommended Harrington Porter by friends and Chris and his team have done an incredible job for us. Despite a tricky dual level garden design incorporating requirements for both small children and adults, Chris produced a great design first time around and we ended up implementing that initial proposal. The Harrington Porter building team were a delight, very friendly and helpful, and the final result is fantastic. They showed excellent attention to detail and were always keen to get everything perfect, including immediate follow up visits whenever we spotted anything not exactly right. Friends now always comment on the design of the garden when they first see it. I recommend them highly.

Chris and the team did a fantastic job of our small garden in SW12. The team understood what we were looking to achieve and produced detailed renders that allowed us to refine the design and ensure everything was spot on before we began. The guys worked hard building out the garden, despite dealing with the impact of Brexit and the pandemic and we now have something we’re really happy with. Throughout the entire process, Chris was very responsive and dealt with any concerns that we had. The garden wasn’t cheap, but you really do get what you pay for and we would definitely recommend to others.

Harrington Porter did a major transformation of our London garden taking it from an unused paved area to a highly used area with fire pit, fireplace, bbq area and lush planting. Totally transformed and it's like having another room in the house. Equally impressive is their commitment to ensuring we are happy, and ongoing support.

Battersea Flower Station Garden Centre & Florist

320 Battersea Park Rd, London SW11 3BX, UK | Store
P: 020 7978 4253

Rating: 4.8 (452) Price Level:

I looked up Garden Centres on the map that are close to Victoria and found this one at Battersea - it is a relatively reasonable distance on bus 170 and an ideal afternoon out for several hours. It was based just off the busy road heading to Battersea Park. The staff members were very friendly and welcoming; there was a vast array of plants and Xmas trees and a few indoor greenhouses towards the back end of the garden. I was mainly here to have a look around; I also purchased a small Xmas tree to keep throughout the festive season (£3.99 for a mini one) and a small container to go with it. I really enjoyed the variety of plants/herbs and the range of Xmas Trees (mostly from Norway) seemed appealing. The garden centre itself was quite narrow, and there was not much chance to socially distance so better to wear a mask, in my opinion, even though it is mostly outside! An ideal time to visit during the winter, to get into the Festive Spirit.

Amazing garden/flower shop between Battersea and Clapham. Seems small from the outside but quite large once you enter with a very decent amount of plants/flowers/pots. Staff friendly and super smiley. Entered just to take a look and ended up taking 3 plants for our balcony! Definitely a hidden gem, and will be back for more really soon! Quite nice place to get a plant gift for friends/visits!

I found Battersea Flower Station on Google and called them up. I spoke to a lovely lady, I explained what I wanted and she told me I would hear from John via email, I then received an email from John straight away for Payment online. I needed a last minute, on the day delivery, they gave me a specific time frame and they delivered my bouquet without any delay for a small fee. Definitely recommend. The flowers were beautiful

Honor Holmes Garden Design

Rating: 5 (2) Price Level:

I needed a design for converting my small and rather drab back yard into a Japanese Zen garden. Honor came up with a beautiful and clever design incorporating zen principles, rocks, a small "cloud tree", bamboo screening and some of the original plants which has transformed the space, all at a very reasonable price.

I was so impressed by Honor’s thorough professionalism, from the very first meeting, design, implementation and the resulting, stunning finished product of a garden that we, as a family, can all enjoy now – and all at an affordable cost – it came in on budget and on time. We now have some very envious neighbours!!

Ian, Sebastian and James were great to work with throughout the process of replacing our shower. There was consistent and clear communication from the Adda Home Solutions Team. Ian, as project manager, always updated us as to what was going on and Sebastian and James were a great team on the ground doing the work.

Adda came to my rescue after countless enquiries and very poor responses from builders in London. As soon as he arrived he interpreted the rather complex issue that I was having based on the original work I’d had done 3 years before. It was all very easy to fix and he would get it done in the next couple of weeks. If only all of life was so straight forward! Was very happy with the quality of the work and the charming team. They cleaned up meticulously and I highly recommend them.

Excellent service. I contacted a few companies to help deal with a collapsed cieling and the mess it created. Adda Home Solutions were stand-out responsive and were able to provide a team within a days notice. The team were polite, very helpful and were able to have the job done in good time before the landlord returned from his honeymoon! I cannot fault them for their great service and proffesionalism. Thanks Guys!
