This is the second time we have visited while on holiday the first last year. Very reasonable priced on meals they serve and very good food, the service is very good and staff very friendly. A place to go when you have your four legged friend with you. Try The Trawlermens Platter you will not be disappointed.
From the moment we walked in with our two small dogs I had high expectations.
There is a great ambiance here, and the decor is great, fresh flowers in the ladies loo is an extra nice touch.
For lunch I had local mussels, absolutely delicious and hubby had faggots which he thoroughly enjoyed.
Looking at their flyer they have a lot going on from live music to quiz nights and a book club and even more. I wish this pub was in my village but we will be back to visit again before long.
It's always a pleasure.... shame they don't serve food all day as I'm sure they could continue filling the seats but I fully understand people need time off!
Great atmosphere and lots of local memorabilia
I came to Bridport to meet friends who lived not too far from here to have a catch up and a meal.
The pub itself is decorated with lots of bits and pieces of memorabilia, a lot of it related to sports, and has a cosy feeling inside.
We had fish and chips for lunch, pleasantly surprised with the size of the fish, which tasted good too, and the chips were nice and fluffy on the inside but crispy on the outside. Mushy peas were pretty good too. All in all it was a really good portion size.
Good selection of drinks on offer, I had the Dorset Gold cider which was a nice change from lager which I normally drink.
