Having never needed an electrician in Dorset before, Terry was the first and only contact I needed to make. He completed a thorough survey of the work required and subsequently provided a quote which I was more than happy with. I did not feel I had to look elsewhere. The work was carried out to my complete satisfaction in a very tidy manner. I would have no hesitation in recommending and using his services again.

Terry did some work for us at our holiday cottage. We found him to be very accommodating and trustworthy, which was essential as he needed to be in the house alone. He also identified a fault on the electrical circuit he was originally working on and after being told that to find the fault could take anything from an hour to a day to find, we were worried about the bill we could potentially receive. The bill was very reasonable and this was another demonstration of how fair and trustworthy he is. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to others.

Terry recently undertook the task of bringing power from our house to our external office/work space. He also wired it along with the installation of led ceiling lights and a number of sockets and switches. He also installed the associated earthing rods. In addition we asked for some help with regard to wiring our internet from the house to the new space. Terry was happy to carry out the additional work. At all times Terry was communicative, tidy and professional in the work he’s carried out for us. We were very happy with the service provided. Would use again and would happily recommend to others.

Little cute shop full of sweets. Anything from a rocky road to fudge to jars of Kola cubes. It’s great for special treat or a gift or just for the sake of memories. The lady that works in there is lovely. You can sit down & eat there, or you can eat outside, grab an ice cream or hot drink. A paradise for girls & boys ;))

Delicious scones and Tea in a flowered garden. Unforgettable pause after hiking from Durdle Door.

The Dolls House contains many sweets, including decent fudge, within a small 150 year old building. It's located between the parking lot and Lulworth Cove, so extremely accessible on the way. The items sold are a bit touristy, but if looking for a small sweet it's a potentially nice brief stop.

Stopped in to browse the sweets and try their delicious fudge. Then had a coffee and gelato at the Chococo bar. Friendly service and very good quality. Recommended.

Amped Electrical Dorset

B2, Romany Works, Poole BH16 6JL, UK | Electrician
P: 0800 294 6642

Rating: 4.7 (13) Price Level:

A really nice guy. Turned up on time with a great solution to a tricky problem. After a discussion as to how best to provide the lighting we desired Derek suggested a solution which fitted in perfectly with our "minds eye picture" Two days later he returned as promised with all the parts and specialist tools to complete the job. Finished the job in a couple of hours and tidied up like he had never been there. Very pleased with the quality and value for money. We recommend them.

We had water damage from an overflowing bath and as a result one of the electrical circuits in the house was not working. Our engineer was able to set this right at once by putting back the appropriate switch on the circuit breaker to the normal position, the water ingress having dried out. Apart from fixing it, the engineer explained everything most clearly, answered all our questions and was able to put our minds at rest regarding the incident & its effects. He was extremely helpful & thoughtful, and we would be more than delighted to recommend both him and Amped thoroughly.

We were really impressed with Leigh at Amped. He arrived on time and worked quickly and neatly to install an outdoor socket for us. Leigh was friendly, professional, approachable and tidied up all mess once he’d finished the work. We would highly recommend Amped Electrical and will definitely be using them again in the future.

We used Amped Electrical Dorset most recently to install three wall lights to update our home. The work was carried out quickly and very efficiently, cables being chased into the walls with the very minimum of disruption and all mess tidied away. Derek was also able to advise us on the best, up-to-date fixtures to use. We have also used Amped Electrical to replace outdated sockets and fit attractive LED lighting to our staircase. Each time we’ve been impressed with the quality of the work and Derek’s friendly and efficient work ethic. Highly recommended.

Derek at Amped was great to deal with. We had an electrical issue that left us without heating or hot water. He came out really quickly to both quote and start the work - meaning our heating was restored much sooner than initially thought. He was reliable, showing up when promised and also responding to our questions via text within an hour on average. Lastly, he found a way to get the electrical job done with minimal disruption to our home, and concealed the areas that were necessarily disrupted by the work he undertook. We've got other jobs that need doing this year, and based on this first job, we will definitely be getting back in touch with Amped.

Seven Stars

Seven Stars Inn, Wool, Moreton, Dorchester DT2 8RL, UK | Bar
P: 01929 462292

Rating: 4.6 (203) Price Level:

Very fresh selection of seafood. Generous portions too. Had the white bait, the cod fish and chips as well as the mussels. Very impressed by the freshness and quality. Batter for the cod is very light and crisp. The cod was delicious and had the right texture, and ratio of cod:batter. The black mussels were very sweet and I enjoyed it very much when paired with fresh bread. Service was very organised. All in all a great experience and I’d definitely bring my friends here when we drive down to the south coast again.

What a wonderful experience visiting the Seven Stars Inn Wool, Moreton, Dorchester restaurant. The food was first class cooked with love and care by a really good head chef and his brigade. Couldn't fault the food in any way what so ever good flavours, textures and presented very well. A really great dining experience which I will remember for a long time. The front of house staff very very friendly, professional providing a great service to compliment the kitchen Definitely worthy of a 5 star review and I would definitely recommend visiting this wonderful restaurant and I hope I will be back here myself.

I recently visited the Seven Stars Inn, and it was an absolutely delightful experience! The staff and their service were outstanding, making me feel truly welcomed with their warmth and attentiveness. I ordered a chicken curry meal, chips, and wings as a takeaway, and as an Indian, I was amazed by the flavors—it was so delicious that I almost fell in love with the food. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for amazing hospitality paired with excellent cuisine!

It was amazing. The dinner was really yummy. Huge portion, we had the steal & ale pie with chips and veggies. The meat was sooo tender, juicy and full of flavour. We stayed for one night in the little rooms they have in their fields. Very cozy and cute. Clean toilets and the shower was working really well. A nice warm bath after a hike to the beach. Breakfast was included, a nice english breakfast. I loved the sausages, very flavourfull. We had some tea or a coffee plus the Orange juice. I asked the staff if we could feed the pigs some apples that were in the floor and she said yes, very cute piggies! The staff is very kind and helpfull.

Durdle Door Holiday Park

Main Rd, West Lulworth, Wareham BH20 5PU, UK | N/A
P: 01929 400200

Rating: 4.5 (1902) Price Level:

We stayed in a holiday pod at the start of November. We had a wonderful time and will be back. We only had 2 adults and 2 dogs- I would say there was a perfect amount of room for us in the colder months. The mattresses are VERY firm. Bring a topper or duvet to go on top. The pod itself keeps heat in- we were too warm even in November. The lights are bright in the pod also, so a little camping light worked for us in the evening. The park itself is in the perfect place with friendly staff and clean facilities. One thing was the spar shop- there wasn't alot of products and empty shelves- think this was because it must have been raided over the half term break. Shame the park doesn't allow gazebos in the colder months as we couldn't make use of the picnic table outside of our pod on the second evening.

We stayed at Durdle door holiday park , and wow . What an amazing place. The holiday home was perfectly clean and included some really nice finishing touches such as a cleaning kit. The location was a like a dream I’ve always wanted to visit durdle door and to stay on its doorstep was an incredible experience. The site itself was also great , perfect enclosed park for the kids to play And a lovely restaurant on site. Staff were super helpful and approachable and the pizzas were perfection. We can’t wait to visit again

Well stocked shop. Lovely hot a clean showers. Lovely staff and the wardens were especially welcoming.

We stayed in a camping pod which was perfect for us as a couple. The reception was still open when we checked in at 7pm and we were welcomed with jovial staff. The pod itself was very quaint. Although it had a double & two singles, I think it would have been too small for four people. It was a perfect size for us as a couple. The lights in the pod were bright but we had brought fairy lights which were perfect. The mattress was firm so I would recommend taking something softer to sleep on like a duvet or topper. The camping toilets and showers were clean, the site itself was lit but a torch did come in handy. It was a perfect base for visiting Durdle Door and hiking the Jurassic coast, as well as star gazing. The full moon was stunning! Staff recommended a couple of local pubs in the village for food which we went to in the evening again ideal. All in all it was a great campsite to base ourselves for an outdoorsy weekend on the Jurassic coast.

Beautiful location. Natural bay in the coast. Wonder of nature with a history from the jurassic era. Clear blue water. Full of activities, like canoeing, scenic boat tours. Hiking pathway leading to durdle door. Nice shops and a visitor center. Lot of parking available and ticket is valid for both Lulworth cove & Durdle door. Superb place to chill out on the beach or in the large picnic green area.

It is most beautiful and picturesque place I have ever been in the UK! The cove looks stunning with the Jurassic Coast in the background. With the sunlight, it looks so surreal. The water has so many layers of blue. Parking is expensive, starting from £10 for 4 hours, covering Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door. Unfortunately Durdle door was closed on the day we visited. It might make you feel better that you don’t need to pay entrance fees anymore. I love this place so much.

Parking is £10 for 4h. not less

Amazing feeling to the whole place nice gentle walk from the car park with excellent facilities half way between the beach and car park lots of shops to choose from all at a reasonable price The car park is super pricey at £10 for four hours or £20 a day unless you have a van £30 all day is you only option wow it is a real money maker for them at the expense of all there loyal visitors very disappointing it would have been ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars if it wasn’t for the parking charge

Lovely evening meal with my 2 friends. I liked the menu as it had enough choice without being too extensive, plus the specials added enough variety. I had the venison steak (from the specials) which was tender and delicious, with a good portion of chips, tomato, and onions. Nice friendly service. I marked down the atmosphere as we had a loud table next to us - but it did not detract from the overall experience. My friends also enjoyed their meals of vegan burger and lamb rump.

Went in for a (very) late lunch this afternoon. Was very quiet (only us and one other guest) but lovely to get out of the rain and had a good chat with the other guest and staff. Ordered the Venison Burger and the Maple Bacon & Brie sandwich, and can't fault either - super tasty and good portion sizes to boot! Had a beer recommendation from the staff which was lovely, and would highly recommend a visit if you're in Lulworth looking for a lunch or dinner location 🙂👍

It was a Bank Holiday Sunday and it was not busy and the Front of House staff did not have a clue what day of the week it was. We where a party of 4 and that could not decide were to seat us, so they decided to put us on a table set 3 and never brought other set of cutlery until the meal came out after asking several times, we found a dirty fork on the floor under the table. It was not clear if it was table service or we order the food at the bar, we ordered at the bar after no one coming over after 15 min. They never brought out any condiments even though we asked twice. I must admit the service was shocking which is a shame as the food/meal was outstanding.

What a lovely place! I visited today with four others after a walk round the Sculptures at the Lake nearby. It's a real old fashioned English pub. Delicious local beer, fabulous bacon and brie open sandwich, and the man on duty who was rushed off his feet (due to circumstances he explained) and working on his own, still served us efficiently and with good grace. Definitely recommend.

Jem and I would like to pass on our thanks for all the hard work, commitment and effort that GH Electrical put into our home. Out of all the builders and various trades that we have had to deal with this company has been one of best on every front from day one. The GH experience was, as expected, a sturdy and robust service, with style and enthusiasm, a team of skilled workers who truly cared about the journey of our sensational build. It has been one of the greatest pleasures of this scheme to have all the GH lads creating our family home. To you all, we thank you!

I bought a new house where GH Electrical had done the electrics on the new build. Since then Guy and his team have helped me out with many electrical issues, installing an alarm, doing all the wiring for my garden office, cameras and other electrical requirement. I cannot praise Guy and his team enough. They always come out in a really swift timeframe and are professional, reasonably priced and great at what they do. I would not use any other electrician in the area.

The price we were provided at the start of the job was very competitive. I would definitely recommend Guy to our friends & family.

Rating: 4.7 (8096) Price Level:

This is a stunning natural gem located on England’s Jurassic Coast, known for its unique, horseshoe-shaped bay and crystal-clear waters. The beach is a mix of pebbles and sand, making it a great spot for swimming, sunbathing, and exploring rock pools. The surrounding cliffs and hills provide breathtaking views and make for excellent hiking opportunities. It’s a popular destination, so it can get quite busy, especially during peak times, but the scenery and tranquil atmosphere are well worth it. Whether you're interested in geology, photography, or simply enjoying the beauty of the coast, Lulworth Cove Beach offers an unforgettable experience.

Lulworth Cove beach on England’s Jurassic Coast is a stunning spot, especially at sunset, when the golden light highlights its unique horseshoe shape and clear waters. Nearby, you’ll find charming pubs and classic fish and chips, perfect after exploring. Don’t miss Stair Hole, a dramatic rock formation with arched cliffs and sea caves just west of the cove. It’s a beautiful blend of natural beauty, cozy local spots, and peaceful seaside views. Parking is pay and display, I went on Tuesday off season want too busy.

Gorgeous sheltered bay surrounded by dramatic cliffs. Several different layers of rock are visible, displaying a geological timeline that has formed one of the UK's most beautiful places. The beach itself is a relatively narrow band compared to many in Dorset, but the azure blue water is worthy of the Mediterranean. There are excellent facilities including a nice café, large gift shop stocked with local goodies, toilets and ample parking. With Stair Hole, Man O' War Beach and Durdle Door along the coast, there's easily enough to fill 4 hours here. This is as well because it's the minimum parking you can buy, at a cost of £10 (as of October 2024). I was lucky enough to be staying nearby so walked and saved the charge. On an October weekend it was popular but not overcrowded, though it appears that in summer it can be extremely busy, so best to visit out of season if you prefer a quieter visit as I do.
