A lovely cafe kiosk on an excellent riverside location - An oasis in the Borough of Kingston. Excellent coffee and fresh pastries - . Lots of grab and go options for your picnics and parties in the park. Interesting ice cream options too! Great for those sunny days by the river,.. just the thing for your kiddos.. unbeatable fudge swirl ice cream! You can tell the proprietor has made an effort on his business, Setting high standards. Believing in what he does and what the customers want. We had a great time with friends on this stretch of the riverbank. Enjoyed the waterside activity and watching the colourful boats during the Bank Holiday weekend.

Hidden gem. Lovely array of baked goods, a really decent choice of hot drinks and a good sized food menu. There are picnic tables available but it’s also surrounded by benches by the river, and lots of options for a stroll too.

I decided to pop by and check out the new owners. They didn't disappoint; it's great to see this local business being taken over by Kingston residents who truly care. As someone with allergies, I really appreciated the clear allergen labels and wide choice of alternative milks – they had them all (oat/soya/coconut/almonds). Although they seemed to be finding their feet, I can tell this business will continue to thrive with time. I've been twice since the opening; the croissant was huge – a personal favorite, along with their fresh fruit smoothies and vegan banana cake. Also had their dairy free frappe! Big thanks to Becky and Holly who served me!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fuego at the Kingston Bentall Centre is an absolute gem! I recently visited to celebrate my sister’s birthday, and the entire experience was flawless from start to finish. The pizza is out of this world – perfectly cooked with fresh, flavorful ingredients that make every bite a delight. Their coffee and cake selection is equally fantastic, the perfect balance of indulgence and quality. What truly sets Fuego apart is the incredible staff. They are not only professional and well-trained but also genuinely friendly and attentive, ensuring every detail is taken care of. They went above and beyond to make my sister’s birthday extra special, and we couldn’t be more grateful. If you’re looking for great food, amazing service, and a welcoming atmosphere, Fuego is the place to be. I can’t recommend it highly enough!

We visited as a large family group, celebrating a big milestone birthday. Our party ranged in age from 1 - 70+ and we all had a lovely experience at Ramo’s. The food was so delicious, the meat was tender and everything had so much flavour. I also must mention the staff because they were so hospitable and friendly to the younger children and adults alike, special mention to Naza! We don’t live locally, but will definitely be back any time we are in the area visiting family again.

Al Forno Restaurant

Townsend Parade 1-2-3a, High St, Kingston upon Thames KT1 1LY, UK | Italian Restaurant
P: 020 8439 7555

Rating: 4.3 (1419) Price Level:

Absolutely 10/10! By far, the best Italian restaurant I’ve ever experienced in the UK. We were invited by Italian friends for dinner, which added an authentic touch to our evening. The restaurant is beautifully located by the river, which adds a picturesque charm to the entire dining experience. For starters, my husband and I ordered the *Frito di Calamari*. The dish was mind-blowing — perfectly fried calamari and zucchini served with a delicious tartare sauce. The squid rings were tender, not chewy, which made it a standout dish. For our mains, we opted for the *Al Forno Pizza* and the *Spaghettoni al Cartoccio*. The pizza was split into two halves, one featuring smoked mozzarella with turnip greens and sausage, and the other half being tomato-based with ham and mozzarella. Both halves were undeniably delicious and full of rich, authentic flavors. To finish, we were persuaded by our friends to try their handmade gelatos, and I must say, they were the best I’ve ever had. We tried the pistachio and chocolate flavors, and while I’m usually not a fan of chocolate ice cream, this one was exceptional. It had a smooth texture, wasn’t overly sweet, and was simply irresistible. The service was fantastic, with friendly and helpful servers who made the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, a 10/10 dining experience! Highly recommended for anyone looking for authentic Italian food in a lovely setting.

Went to Al Forno for a team gathering and we were all so pleased with the whole experience. Staff was kind and attentive, atmosphere was cosy and relaxed and, of course, the food was amazing! Fabio, the owner, brought the experience to the next level with an ad-hoc fresh fish starter that was the prelude for an amazing "pasta allo scoglio". Thank you guys! Looking forward to visiting again.

Stopped in for lunch with a friend and was served by Hass - lovely chap. We went for the 2 course lunch menu. I had cream spinach as a starter, my friend had sardines - really well presented and tasty. For the main I went for chicken breast and rice and my friend went for slow cooked lamb. Both were very well presented and very tasty. 5/5 on food, service, atmosphere and customer service. I've been here a couple of times before and will keep coming back. Thank you.

Good service and a decent menu selection. The lentil soup was delicious, as was the meat, but the vegetable dishes were oily, especially the artichoke. It was a nice touch to be treated to some Turkish delight at the end. They have a window where they make shawarma for takeaway.

We visited Cappadocia Restaurant on a Friday evening without a reservation. Fortunately, we were able to get a table with only a short wait. We ordered the mixed grilled meats, Turkish manti dumplings, lahmacun, and more. All the dishes were served in generous portions, beautifully seasoned and full of flavour. We were fortunate to be looked after by Ali, who ensured we were happy with everything and made us feel the warmth of true Turkish hospitality. It was a fantastic evening with family, and I’ll certainly be returning to Cappadocia Restaurant.

I’m loving this place. Wonderful and courteous staff, delicious food, and right on the river walk. My wife and I stopped here for mid-afternoon appetizers and desert. And a quiet location for a zoom meeting. Sat outside -with individual heaters for tables- and had a most enjoyable afternoon. Will plan on coming back for a fish dinner -fresh delivered on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Might consider moving to a flat next door so we can eat breakfasts, lunches and dinners here all the time!!

We had a very enjoyable office Christmas lunch at Brown's today. The location overlooking the river is perfect and the interior is modern and well laid out over two floors. I had smoked salmon, followed by roast turkey, with a lemon meringue tart for dessert. The food was delicious, and the service was fast, friendly and efficient. Recommended.

Title: Exquisite Steak Experience at Browns, Thanks to Lara I recently had the pleasure of dining at Browns and was served by the wonderful Lara, who turned an ordinary evening into an exceptional culinary experience. From the moment we were seated, Lara's attentive and warm demeanor made us feel genuinely welcomed. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the steak. Cooked to perfection, it was juicy, tender, and seasoned just right, hitting all the taste notes effortlessly. Every bite melted in my mouth, encapsulating the essence of what a perfect steak should be. Lara’s service was impeccable – she was knowledgeable about the menu and her recommendations were spot on. She anticipated our needs without being intrusive, ensuring our glasses were never empty and that we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The atmosphere at Browns was cozy and inviting, enhancing the overall dining experience. But it was Lara’s exceptional service that truly set the evening apart. Her professionalism, coupled with a genuine smile, made us feel like valued guests. I can confidently say that this was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a while, and I would gladly return for another delightful steak dinner, especially if it means being served by Lara again. Kudos to Browns for their excellent team and outstanding cuisine!

Great location and atmosphere, but disappointing service. It was a Thursday evening first week in the New year and the restaurant was relatively quiet.Great location and beautiful seating with a view over Thames. We ordered different dishes. Disappointingly our starters (soup) came before our drinks, and the waiter did not bring any cutlery. It took us a few minutes to get attention of our waitress to bring us spoons whilst the soup was getting cold. We also had to remind about our drinks several times. When my steak was served, it did not come with any sauce, regrettably, I had not been prompted by the waitress, when ordering my steak, to order sauce, and it did not occurred to me (perhaps it is my fault) that I had to order my sauce separately. The food was of very good quality, and I would not hesitate to go back as it is my local restaurant, but it would be nice if the waiters were trained to serve drinks first and make sure customers do not have to ask for cutlery whilst food getting cold.

We had our post Christmas meal here in January. The food was great we all availed the 3 course meal. There were a good range of choices for starters, mains and deserts. The price was also very reasonable. Food came out great! I had the charcuterie board, sea bass and chocolate mousse and they were superb! Service was also good! Overall a good dining experience. Will recommend and definitely come back!

Lunched on Monday, today. 4 of us had the 3 course menu. Everything was excellent. The Parfait was amazing and the thinly sliced and toasted baguette went well, but not enough, but we were given more when asked. The Steak and Frites was totally perfect. Amazing taste and pink in the middle for such a thin steak. Seabass was great. Deserts all top quality (crepe, raspberry and lemon sorbet, choc mouse, kids waffle). Service was top notch. Very busy outside but we sat in the less busy indoors at the back. We were all full at the end.

First stop of the day after a three hour train journey to complete the Bear Hunt Sculpture Trail (May 2024). With two bears in the bag it was time for a coffee, and that was the best coffee in forever!!! This little place was so inviting from outside and fabulous friendly inside. The staff were helpful and had a fabulous sense of humour. They proper made me smile. The surroundings were cosy and practical with a variety of seating whether alone or with a group, outdoor seating was also an option. Some people were catching up with a cuppa, some were meeting in groups, a few were content working on laptops, and some were clearly on business. Clearly everyone was welcome. With an array of sweet and savoury treats, as well as a few hot and cold meal options, along with very good beverages to choose from. I was also surprised by the very reasonably price tag. The facilities here were good and clean. They advertised boardgames being available and hosted live entertainment. I was not at all disappointed and so pleased I went in based on how inviting the café looked from outside. Such a gem. I would definitely visit here again if I was in the area! I'd walked from the train station. I did note a small amount of on street parking, possibly permitted, and some nearby bus stops.

nice little chomp after a walk in richmond park, just outside of kingston gate and lovely atmosphere. cinnamon buns were warm and yummy and also huge, four pounds each which if you factor in the way it’s london then it’s ok! chai latte did disappoint me slightly as was very milky and the sugar at the bottom kind of all clumped so there wasn’t much flavour apart from the cinnamon on top, but lovely netherless

The drinks especially their hot choco, is simply hot!! 3. The simple delicacies especially the cinnamon roll, soft and deep in taste.. awesome! 4. The simple English cafe ambience is simply a great experience esp for people who is not a Brit, and who appreciates simple things in life.. like being in this cafe.. What an absolute local gem! It's cozy inside with tables scattered around. You order and pay at the till which I quite enjoy, from there you go sit down and wait for your delicious coffee and food to be brought to you. The flat white is the best I've had, and I find it difficult to resist getting one when I'm in the area. The food is also heavenly. I can highly recommend their avocado toast with chorizo and poached egg as well as the salmon Benedict. Both of these dishes are simply fantastic and full of flavor. You can taste the quality of the ingredients as well as the effort that goes into the plating and presentation. We do eat with our eyes first. Once you have finished your meal and coffee, your table is quickly cleared by a friendly member of staff. Because you have already paid for your food, you can simply leave whenever you want. You are always waved out the door with a warm "bye, thank you" from staff. I will continue to support this amazing local hero!

Nice cafe with very friendly service. It's quite small but there's an outside window to order to-go from, which is a brilliant idea. Our food was ok. I ordered pancakes which were nice but not normal pancakes, more cakey. My mum ordered a cake and my review was that it tasted healthy. It's not bad at all, but there are better places for food in the area

We were on the fence about trying a new cafe as there is Gail’s a few yards away but so glad we did. The Flat White was sharp, perfectly proportioned and the roast was simply delicious. We paired this with the Salted Caramel Chocolate Brownie which was rich in flavour and perfectly baked to a crisp top. The cafe was busy even on a rainy day so expect to fight for a table when the weather is right. All in all, our coffee experience here was flawless and this might very well be our ‘local hero’. Highly recommended cafe and one we will definitely be back to soon.
