Lovely cafe, I go there most Sundays to buy a loaf of their sourdough which is the BEST I’ve ever had. Their pastries and baked goods are also delicious (Guinness cake is YUM).

After months of trying to find a nice little coffee spot in the area, this place was finally revealed to me, and I’m very glad to have found it. A nice place, tucked quietly out the way, offering outside seating, as a perfect sun trap for the afternoon. The coffee was delicious and the cinnamon bun went down very nicely with it. Looking forward to coming back and sampling the rest of the menu!

Lovely little cafe run by such kind and helpful people who seem super invested in their customers and wider community. I worked remotely here for a whole afternoon — great vibes, playlist, coffee, and the toastie, panzanella salad and kombucha were all top notch, too. Will definitely be back the next time I’m in the area!

Came around at 11:30am. Soup was piping hot as they came freshly cooked. Cream of parsnips soup was balanced and had a lovely touch with the parsnip crisps. Butter was hard, which was due to the cold weather. Lychee and coconut drizzle was with a sweet glaze, the cake was moist. Would come here again.

Bagel Eats - Forest Gate
118 Woodgrange Rd, London E7 0EW, UK | Bagel Shop P: 020 8075 5526
Rating: 4.5 (81) Price Level:
I ordered the double cheese bagel and it was beautiful. Two smash patties with cheese, gherkins, lettuce and sauce. Only marked down due to slow service, only one guy taking orders and then making food at 12pm it's busiest time is silly. Also the fridge for the drinks may as well be switched off as it was not working. Drinks were so hot.

Have seen this place for while and thought I’d give it a try. There was a variety of items from bagels to panini’s even a good old jacket potato. We opted for the steak bagel and the Cajun chicken bagel which was absolutely delicious. We ordered another two bagels to go. Will definitely visit again.

Bagel Eats is a few doors away from Wanstead Station. We visited on a Monday early evening and it wasn't busy, there was no queue. They have a table and chairs outside for 2, they also having some more seating inside when you walk in on the right. The serving counter is on the left and straight ahead is the drinks cooler. We ordered the salmon and cream cheese bagel with avocado, and it was tasty. The bagel was perfectly grilled with a little crisp. The one member of staff that was there at the time was polite and friendly and the place was clean and tidy. I would recommend Bagel Eats if you're looking for a delicious quick bite to eat.

I was waiting for my order when an oldish lady who is clearly a regular walked in.. the staff all gave her a really warm welcome and chatted to her and in a flash her cup of tea and bagel was with her. I didn’t see them charge her either..worth mentioning this as community spirit is fantastic see and you can tell the lady clear comes here for the conversation…was lovely to see The food…I order a chicken bagel and it’s was delicious…just enough spice for me and lovely after taste…waited about 10 mins but you know it’s going to be fresh and I wasn’t disappointed…Great friendly staff and will be back

Genuinely one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to. I had such a great experience for my 18th birthday. I was greeted by a lovely waiter who made my party of 10 feel very welcome and overall made the atmosphere really enjoyable and special to me! All staff were very kind and patient and so I really do appreciate this. Waiters offered to take pictures for us and sang happy birthday for me which honestly made my experience even more memorable! I just wish I could remember the names of these waiters. Overall food was delicious and great for the price and the interior was beautiful. I will definitely be coming here again!!!

What a great experience. The service from staff was impeccable. They were so attentive without being intrusive. The food was and the atmosphere calm. The decor and ambience was really nice. We were celebrating an anniversary and they went above and beyond to make us feel special and even gave us a complimentary mocktail! Highly recommended. A special thanks to Manny for being really attentive and friendly.

Freshly cooked, not too greasy, great morning wake up. Serves halal food. Provides a polite and patient customer service. A great serving English breakfast and overall great serving cafe. A must go place if you are looking for a cook bite or a full halal or normal English breakfast. Cash only.

I love this Cafe it's been around a very long time and is always refreshing cooked food, great prices especially for families. No fuss no thrills just good food including all day breakfast and grills and burgers and roast dinners. Something for everyone and lovely staff.

This is one of the best cafe around staff are friendly and service is excellent been coming here for quite some time and never disappointed. I pop in to have a late brunch and ending up have a roast beef dinner instead. The service was and always is perfect best cafe around is my opinion. Nothing has changed service and food top class.

Typical London caff. Lovely service. Cheap and cheerful. Service was good and instant. Food was hot. Sausages weren't that great but acceptable. Coffee is not bean to cup but then this is not a bistro. It was instant coffee - it was fine. Very clean place. We had the brunch fry-ups. With tea and coffee came in at £15+. I would visit again. Just as feedback I would pay extra for better sausages - butcher is next door. They do have a sign for halal.

The new Costa in Forest Gate is a fantastic spot for food and coffee! The space is large with plenty of seating, and the menu offers a great variety of options. The staff is wonderful—my barista, Michaela, was especially sweet and recommended the perfect drink. It’s great to finally have a top-notch coffee place in Forest Gate! ♥️

Fresh and shiny new, spitting distance to Forrest Gate station. Average to large size, reasonably split between 💻 and 👶 (for now) Friendly customer service. Don’t forget to support local coffee places though, like a nearby Cups & Jars, Wild Goose Bakery or Cafe Rumble all in #E7

Forest Tavern

Rating: 4.4 (735) Price Level:
Nice, relaxed, family friendly pub. I dropped in to watch a bit of football while waiting to get the train. It was early evening and the place was not too busy. The staff were friendly and service was quick. Other customers also seemed friendly. The place also seemed friendly for families and there was, what looked like, a parent and baby club on one of the tables. The beers were served in icey glasses, which was a nice touch on a hot day. They had a good range of beers from well know brands to seasonal specialities. I didn't try to food but the food I saw being delivered to other tables looked good. Every table had a dinner reservation for later in the evening. I plan to return and try the food.

Came in for a Sunday Roast and it was delicious! They have several options and I went for the pork which as a very generous portion and so good! Easily one of the best I've had in London. Staff was really friendly as well, so a great experience all the way through. A great spot in Forest Gate and will definitely be going back!

Fabulous pub! Having been born and raised in Forest Gate, but moving away 10 years ago to live abroad....my first visit back after years this weekend gone... highlight of the the trip was cold beers and delicious food in the lovely garden, with great service and positive vibe! Prices are great, team is super welcoming, keep up the great work guys and see you in November when we travel again for a weekend. First stop after airport will be here!

Vege roast was tasty and felt very virtuous though found the gravy quite watery. The sticky toffee pud was 👌👌 Nice selection of beers and a couple of alcohol free options (Guinness, lucky saint). Service was casual but staff were friendly and attentive. We were inside on a rainy summers day and would have loved to be able to crack a window, very stuffy. Some music would have been great too.
Rating: 4 / 5
Staff are absolutely excellent. Really lovely and helpful. Roast was pretty good. The meat was cooked beautifully but I would prefer more love put into the veg. Atmosphere is really nice and welcoming. Very family orientated on Sundays so probably not the place if you're after the hair of the dog. But I had a really nice time here and that's what counts!

Heard that this is the most authentic Biryani in London. Tried the Chicken dum biryani, Gobi (cauliflower) 65 and Murgh Malai Kebab - all were great. Downed mango lassi (ask for it with ice!) and Gulab Jamun for dessert. Really impressed. Our server, Summaiya, was awesome, attentive and explained everything in terms I could understand a it’s nice to deal with nice people. Will definitely check them out again!

Outstanding Experience at Hyderabad Darbar I had an absolutely delightful dining experience at Hyderabad Darbar on Green Street, London. From start to finish, everything exceeded expectations. The Food: Each dish we ordered was nothing short of perfection, but the Chilly Prawns deserve a special mention. They were hands down the highlight of our meal — perfectly cooked, with a delicious balance of spice, flavor, and tenderness. It’s rare to find prawns cooked so well, retaining their juiciness while being packed with flavor. I’d highly recommend this dish to anyone visiting. The Tandoori Murgh (half) was beautifully marinated and grilled to perfection, while the Lamb Biryani had the authentic flavors of Hyderabad — fragrant, rich, and generously portioned. To accompany our meal, the Coke and small water bottle were a simple touch, keeping us refreshed throughout. Service: The service here was exceptional. A member of the staff — though I didn’t catch her name — helped us select the most delicious options from the menu. Her recommendations were spot on, and her professional, warm, and friendly demeanor added to our dining experience. It’s clear she genuinely cares about ensuring guests enjoy their time at the restaurant. Atmosphere & Ambience: The ambiance was cozy and welcoming, reflecting the rich culinary heritage the restaurant represents. The menu, with its variety of dishes and beautiful presentation, truly reflects their dedication to authentic, high-quality food. Overall, Hyderabad Darbar is a must-visit for anyone looking for excellent Indian food in London. I will definitely be coming back for the Chilly Prawns and more! Highly recommended.

Food is amazing here - french toast very filling, tea lovely. The wings and chips here are also amazing. Service was a bit slow, and seating is a bit crowded for a small cafe. Otherwise it’s a cute small place for food.

Great place to grab some quick breakfast/lunch. Ordered a vegan wrap with cardamom tea which was very nice. My husband ordered the butter chicken kathi roll which took around 20-25m to arrive hence 4 stats for service. Thank you!
