After years of not picking my guitar up, I started lessons with Des and now I can't put it down! Not only a great player, Des is a fantastic teacher. Lessons are fun and he has exactly the right balance of being both challenging and patient at the same time. Unquestionably he has enormous experience and ability as well as fantastic knowledge of guitar theory but most importantly he listens to what you want to achieve and only introduces his expertise to support your goals, whatever style or era of music you enjoy. Play a new track to Des and he can pick it up straight away and within an hour lesson coach me so many improvements which I would never achieve by trying to teach myself. Des' ability to watch, listen and immediately identify techniques to improve is amazing and he has a way of explaining things that really helps to accelerate learning. Whatever your age or level of experience, I would definitely recommend.

After playing by ear all my life I decided I needed to learn some of the grown up stuff. As I have always played things that I have written I picked up some bad habits and with Des’ help I'm beginning to unlearn them and replace them with proper technical knowage. After a months worth of lessons, its all becoming a lot clearer. Des has an incredible ear and an even better eye, he can tell whether I'm playing an upstroke or downstroke just by looking. Des is an awesome guitar teacher, he has helped me out of a guitar playing rut I have been stuck in for some time. He is knowledgeable and explains things (guitar theory) in a way which 100+ books and YouTube videos has failed to do for me up until now, unlocking music theory ideas I have never previously been able to grasp. I’ve had two lessons so far and Des is amazing. Very insightful, friendly, accommodating… and he knows guitar inside/out. He’s helping me with a solo and he points out things I never even heard but that he is aware of due to his “near Yoda-like audio powers” and abilities. Highly recommend his lessons via skype.
