Dr. Emma Hobby was so so excellent. She made me feel seen in terms of my nervousness (46 year old man!). I needed to have a wisdom tooth extracted and she calmly explained every little thing she did, checking I was doing okay regularly. It was a tricky one as my tooth kept breaking but I never heard her get exasperated and she persisted and got it all sorted and removed. It healed well within a few days. Very impressed.

I just want to say from the bottom of my heart a massive Thank you soo much to Dentist Victoria for seeing me today, I have been terrified for years of the dentist. This woman put me at such ease, she explained everything to me step by step and made sure I wasn’t in any discomfort. Wonderful wonderful human, and thank you to the reception ladies, lovely and funny x

Great elevated position with far reaching views of the South Coast and The Isle of Wight. Well kept building and grounds with a nice coffee shop, souvenir store and, a small gallery. Dog friendly and a nice outdoor seating area overlooking the sea. Nothing particularly special but well worth having a nose at whilst visiting the area (especially if out walking the paths)

Was only able to spend a short time there but clearly a place you could spend hours walking cliffs top walks. The terrace of the cafe offers great view of the coastlines. It is very hilly and they have tried their best to make it accessible, but be aware that there are lots of significant slopes.

This was a lovely find and experience. The whole place had been redesigned for accessible use, and the attention to detail was everywhere. The architect should be very proud of their accomplishments. We grabbed some food and were pleasantly surprised. So much so we headed back a second day. Views are amazing and accessibility is extremely good, despite being on the cliffs. Great day out.

This is a nice, quiet pub that is now run by the community it seems. So it's a welcoming place which is nice to drop into if you're in the area (with or without a dog). They don't do food but they absolutely don't mind if you bring in a takeaway to enjoy with your pint.

Very friendly and charming. We managed to get some stone baked pizza from another onsite business. Lovely little garden to eat, drink and relax in.

For ages I have looked at this pub and thought I must visit. One cold windy Sunday was meant to be walking up to the nature reserve and beyond, but fancied a quick pint en route.... Then I got chatting. Wonderful staff, great landlord and lady, brilliantly friendly regulars and my walk ground to a halt. But it was replaced with a lovely afternoon near the coal fire, with good beer. And finally, nothing to do with the pub, but hopefully to make you smile.... I bought a crystal ball but only ever predicted very cold winters. Turns out they sold me a snow globe.

Amazing food, very friendly and accomodating staff. The boys working there were very professional and looking after customers very well with a big smile. I made a request for a birthday writing and they warmly welcomed my request and brought a candle. We were three people, we ordered starters, mains and desserts beside drinks but the bill came very cheap compared to such great location. The food taste could not be praised enough, great portions. Thank you.

Amazing food! Came with a group of 15 so had ordered ahead. It came in good time and was absolutely delicious. Good large portions and nice friendly service. Green Thai curry highly recommended! Everyone was delighted with the food. And a good range of beers too.

Lovely food. Came in with family. Initially was quiet but got busier and staff seemed very busy. Good was great and everyone really friendly. Japanese chicken was really, really nice. Italian burger was good, but very saucy with ruined crispiness of chicken. Good value for money. Would come again .

Rating: 4.2 (578) Price Level:

We found out the hard way that in Swanage you have to book places for dinner. After trying many places to no avail, we walked into La Trattoria and were kindly squeezed in. The wine, starters and food were amazing. Was slightly disappointed with the Bruschetta being on their house garlic bread. Would have liked it on a different bread or told when we ordered that we’d essentially be having two lots of garlic bread but the overall experience and meal wasn’t dampened by this. Their pasta is delicious so highly recommend that. Definitely coming back when we return to the area and next time we’re booking!

Really nice food, well prepared. Pleasantly relaxed, grown up atmosphere on a relatively quiet Sunday evening in early winter. Prompt and friendly service. Not cheap, but this is reflected in the quality.

It can be hard finding a restaurant in Swanage if you haven't booked in advance but we were lucky enough to score a table at La Trattoria. It's clearly very popular, especially with families, and that makes perfect sense as the staff are friendly and the food tasty. What you're looking at is an old-school, family-owned Italian restaurant that offers a short but classic menu with all of the greatest hits. The food itself is nicely prepared and enjoyable but not fancy. It is, however, somewhat on the expensive side at £20-25 per head without alcohol. Still it's nice to visit somewhere that isn't all about fried food or other seaside delights and we certainly never felt rushed despite the restaurant being packed out. So if you prefer to dine well over a harbour view then La Trattoria will see you right.

Stayed here whilst walking the coast path. There is a long diversion away from the coast to Kingston, so it was in a great location. The pub is clearly very old and the rooms reflect this. Very clean and warm but slightly shabby. I arrived on a Sunday, and they were serving Sunday Roasts, which was excellent - perfect after a long walk. Breakfast was lovely too - quality ingredients and well cooked. All in all, it was a very pleasant stay

Great food and nice service. I had the leek risotto for main which was lovely. For pudding we had the cheesecake which was delicious and the vodka jelly with chocolate sorbet which was interesting but tasted a bit too boozy in our opinion.

My family and I stayed at the Pig on the Beach on Wednesday 2nd October. The entire stay from start to finish was just perfect. We have been to the Pig on the Beach ( and most of their other establishments) a few times. However this time was extra special as my husband and I got married in Poole earlier in the day. We were only a small intimate party of 10 , wanting to have a quiet , special and intimate time with close family. We booked the small hut away from the main restaurant and it was absolutely magical to dine in there . The beautiful round table, overlooking the sea is simply stunning. The entire team were amazing , from start to finish. They went out their way at any given time to make our entire stay amazing. The food was delicious, the recommended wine was also delicious, the yummy cakes we had in the afternoon equally as delicious , ending with the breakfast the following morning being perfect too. The place , in fact the whole Pig concept is such a wonderful creation and so unique. The quality of the staff and the clearly brilliant training they receive is commendable. We receive the same professional but friendly reception in all the Pig restaurants. The rooms were amazing , so comfortable and so much attention to detail, interior wise. Thank you to the Pig on the Beach team for making our stay so magical and perfect. Can't wait to visit you again soon. Rachel

Food was good. My partner really enjoyed it. We got 3 meats - house wings, sausage and their special that day which was the bbq brisket on bone marrow. It comes with 3 sides and 2 sauces, for which we got seasoned fries and coselaw and their boozey bbq sauce. We got sat by the bar as there were no more seats and we did call last minute, not the comfiest of all but glad we got accommodated. The staff were ever friendly and service was quick. Would recommend, good chill dinner spot with nice food.

I love this pub. After a walk to Old Harry Rocks, we stopped for some drinks and food. Beautiful view out to sea, from the beer garden. The fish and chips were probably the tastiest I have had in a long time, perfectly cooked. The bar staff, young guy, so friendly and the pub has a really nice atmosphere. We visited August 18th 2024, we'll be coming back very soon!

It's a lovely pub, in a lovely place... great atmosphere and great views. However, no low acohol-beers, just one 0.5% lager... and that was sold to me as a 'beer'. And we were moved from the bar area, as we were 5 people and only 4 were allowed on the table we sat on. Not allowed to move a chair!!! We didn't stop to eat!

Lovely pub. I was put off a bit by the food prices. Most dishes are around £15, but, oh my God, absolutely top notch. I had the fish pie. Absolutely worth every penny. Good salad and the chips were proper chips: big, thick and crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy in the middle. I will definitely go there again
