Boston Lock Café
Witham Bank E, Boston PE21 9JU, UK
Phone: 01205 352535
“Stopped here to get a coffee and so pleased we did. The coffee latte was very smooth and nice and the cafe was clean and very well presented. I'm not really keen on fresh food being exposed to all and would like to see some sort of cover. Coffee was reasonably priced but we also had 2 small pieces of Rocky Road cake and that was a little steep.... £4 each... Staff were polite and courteous and the owner spent some time explaining how they keep their menu fresh because it's based around what they want to put on the menu so the menu is always updated and keeps it fresh for repeated visits as there will always be something new for you to try. Highly recommend a visit if you are passing this way.v”

The Side House
94 Main St, Claypole, Newark NG23 5BA, UK
Phone: 01636 626123
“Stepping into the Side House feels like walking into cake heaven, where every slice is a masterpiece and every bite has a little celebration baked right in. From the warm welcome to the drool-worthy cake display, they’ve got the dessert scene on lock. These cakes aren’t just desserts—they’re experiences. Made with seasonal, local ingredients, each cake has its own vibe. One bite of the lemon drizzle, and you’re basking in eternal summer; a slice of chocolate fudge, and you’re suddenly in cozy autumn bliss. And the variety! You could come every day and still not try them all—though I’m game to give it a shot. The staff is as sweet as the cakes, and let me tell you, resisting a second (or third) helping is practically impossible. Five stars, but only because they don’t let you give ten!”

“Lovely, clean, light and airy decor with the odd quirky twists. Greeted quickly by friendly staff. Ordered "The Ross" and was surprised at the size of the meal but were assured that they could arrange for us to take away any leftovers. Served in a timely manner. Food very tasty and hot. Excellent value for money. All staff helpful and approachable. Great relaxed experience and they even had festive toilet paper!”

“This cafe was my favourite place during uni, the staff are super friendly and it has such a cozy atmosphere. The food is amazing, offering both sweet and savoury waffles. They also do gluten free waffles and always ask whether it’s a preference an intolerance or coeliac. I’m really going to miss this place and would definitely recommend!!”
