“So my neighbour and I have been trying for the past couple of months to find somebody to carry out some remedial work on our adjoining roofs. I don’t know what it is about Grantham, but the roofers here, only want the big money jobs and everybody basically fobbed us off at the high port. The irony being that both of us individually can afford to spend money, its just that the jobs we required were actually little ones. So yesterday, there was a knock on the door and Mark Stephens of MS Home improvements (based out of Bourne) was handing out cards and basically advertising his services. So my neighbour and I decided to take the chance (Well it initially was just Gutter cleaning and windowsill painting) So as an Ex Royal Engineer I watched Mark work (like you do) and was most impressed with the quality of his work and his attention to detail. During his initial inspection Mark found an issue from a previous roofer who instead of using lead had cut corners and used a self-adhesive foil, which over time had turned into confetti and exposed the side of the roof to the elements result in extreme erosion of the mortar (I climbed the ladder and checked) and needed urgent attention before the onset of autumn and winter. (Photos below). Mark explained the situation in a clean and concise matter and quoted a price. Let me point out this wasn’t somebody trying to pull wool over our eyes, rather it was somebody pointing out, ""Err you have a roof problem”."" Mark went well out of his way to repair our combined roof issue. I personally had a couple of additional roofing issues which I needed rectifying (Ridge tiles repointing , a number of cracked roof tiles replacing) This Mark undertook with no fuss, no trying to pull wool over my eyes (I did say I am an ex combat engineer) Not only that, but being the jobs worth as I am, actually went up onto the roof to check his work (like you do) noticed that our neighbours either side had somewhat overgrown gutters (photos included) texted them and Mark cleaned them when given the go-ahead from both parties for not very much. So how did I find Mark? , who until yesterday I had never met before, a amicable guy who couldn’t do enough in which to please, Yes it sounds too good to be true, but the simple fact remains, he did everything I asked of him and he did it not only to a high standard, but at affordable prices. In fact so impressed have I been with his work, I have already booked him to sort out the end of the extension with a dry verge (sort out the weather damage and repaint it) and replace a couple of pieces of guttering effected by a fire across the way. My final assessment, you couldn’t find a better feller to sort out your roof. if you wish to speak to me in which to ascertain if i am real,, ask Mark to pass on my phone number, more than happy to chat.”
