Very nice and cosy place with delicious hot chocolate! Every time I visit I make sure to stop by the bookstore and just enjoy the atmosphere.

Great place to stop for a cuppa, made even better by a second hand bookshop on the premises. My second visit was equally good. The coffee was great. A blend made for them specially and so was the lemon drizzle cake. Also got some very reasonably priced miniature scores from the bookshop. Definitely my first choice for a coffee and cake when in Didsbury

Love this place we walked there from longsight to have a good walk with a nice destination to end at, one of my fav places a friend showed me 11 years ago we used to go with our babys, now take my husband there, lovely book shop too, cosy chilled and always great music to accompany the delisous food. We shared frech toast so good home made strawberry jam and hazel nuts with cream freche sorry id eaten some b4 taking picture as to good to not just dive in too.

Went for brunch and it's such a cute little cafe, really friendly staff. I have the special Turkish scrambled egg and it was so good! I would definitely recommend it. Really nice food and reasonably priced. I also had the art of tea blend and it was good but a bit too floral for me, but still good. They have some really good food and drink options.

Had an amazing breakfast today, the coffee was great. The space was very peaceful and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and the service was fast and friendly. Can’t recommend enough. There is also the added benefit of the bookshop at the back which adds to the atmosphere.

The design is perfect, the concept is perfect the presentation is perfect. Despite the fact that they’re busy especially on a Sunday, the waiting time for your food is short. The coffee is good (most coffees in Manchester tastes stronger compared to London but this place was good!) I’d say this place is a must visit if in Manchester!

What a nice place to come, have breakfast and relax. This is my first time here and it was a nice ambiance. The food and coffee were amazing. We had the pleasure of having Kate and Laura assist us. They were very attentive. I definitely recommend this place if you’re ever in to Manchester.

Came for brunch this morning and have to do a special shout out to Abbi, who was so accommodating and lovely! I'm 35 weeks pregnant and she went above and beyond and even though it was so busy, she found me somewhere to sit whilst waiting and even made sure I got a suitable table plus providing service with a smile! The food and coffee was fab too!

Went for brunch today at Ezra & Gil (Helper and Happiness) Hilton Street Manchester. Our server was Kate, she was very helpful and let us change scrambled eggs for poached on 1 of the brunch orders. We asked for the drinks to come with the food so you don't get the drinks first, and then have to order more she was very concerned if we had any allergies, which was excellent. We ordered French toast which was amazing, and 2 breakfasts, the scrambled eggs were the best my wife has ever had and my poached eggs were nice and runny, the food came quickly and was very well cooked and hot Dog friendly always a bonus, lots of high chairs were also available for young families, great mix of customers, both old and young, you can also buy their products , coffee beans and bread, takeaway also available, recommend checking this establishment out, you can also get alcohol .

It was my first time visiting and it definitely will not be my last! Me & my partner were seated quickly with a warm welcome and explained the menu and how to order. The bloody Mary’s were to die for, possibly the best I’ve ever had! The food was fresh and delicious and always served with a smile, worth every penny!

We had the five course New Year menu. The food was outstanding in presentation and taste. As a vegetarian, it was nice to have some variety. Our server, Will , was spot on and treated us like royalty. He was really friendly and nothing was too much trouble. It was our first visit, but we were so impressed, we will definitely return.

Lovely evening spent for Valentine's. Set menu which we were aware of. Welcome complimentary fizz which was lovely, the staff were attentive and the food was delicious. We struggled with our desserts! The ambience was great. But do bear in mind it is in the city, so look ahead for parking. There is a public car park within 2 mins walk but is only small car park for 10 vehicles.

A mountain out of a molehill? Perhaps. Out of this world? Absolutely. Lost for words? Well, almost—but I’ll push a few out for this review. This wasn’t just a Sunday roast; it was the Sunday roast. The kind of meal that makes you question every roast dinner you’ve had before and wonder if they were all just poorly seasoned lies. The beef? Cooked to perfection. The potatoes? Crispy, golden, and quite possibly hand-delivered by the Roast Gods themselves. The Yorkshire pudding? So fluffy it could have floated off my plate if gravity hadn’t intervened. The staff? Attentive but not in a hovering-like-a-helicopter-parent way. The service? Slicker than a buttered banister. The atmosphere? So warm and welcoming that I half expected to be tucked in for a nap afterward. If you haven't been yet, go. If you have been, go again. Went on NYE, set menu where every course was a delight. Lovely warm greeting on arrival, taken to our table and the menu explained. Service was impeccable and always with a smile. Cannot recommend this place enough. We have been before and it has always given 💯, did wonder if they could keep those standards at such a busy time. And boy did they!! Just AMAZING, big thank you to the lovely Camille who served us with such a smile, warmth and made the whole experience even better. Happy New Year!

First time we had visited and we will certainly be back. This is a super atmospheric pub lovingly restored after being derelict for a few years. The service from Rob was exceptionally good and all the staff were helpful and friendly. The mince and root veg pie was fabulous - my pork tasty but just a tad dry - the desserts were amazing! Can’t wait to return.

It must have been the best oyster I’ve ever had! It took it from a 4 to a 5 star. The dessert as well. Great combination taste wise and beautifully presented. Through those two dishes I was in heaven. The rib of beef was good and well presented as well, but the wild mushrooms on truffled toast was a bit too heavy for my liking. It was too cold in the room, and the service could have been better. It didn’t seem that coordinated or interested in their guests. Though the guy at the entrance was really friendly. This was in June.

Went to Wood for my birthday dinner, when we came in we were greeted by staff and they were very pleasant and friendly. We were seated in the waiting area while we waited on our table and ordered a bottle of wine, the table we were sat at was very wobbly and the wine was shaking out of the glasses as it was being poured. Little things I usually wouldn't take heed of, but with the higher pricing of the wine and food I feel it's noticeable as part of the experience. My partner and I are vegetarian so decided to order several of the vegetarian dishes to share as we didn't fancy one of the vegetarian main courses. I must say I can't knock the food on flavour, everything was cooked exceptionally and the ingredients were truly used to extract the best from them. I will however say the portion sizes are extremely small for the price of the plates. The Pomme Anna was four very small sticks in a jar, the broccoli side was in the smallest container and although extremely delicious there was very little of it to enjoy, and the cous cous/rice portions with the courgette main were tiny. Another thing to mention is most of our food was quite cold nothing was hot. I really did enjoy the flavours but I don't think we would rush back, it lacked in areas that you expect more of from fine dining.

What a place! The location, the decor, the welcome, the staff, the service and of course the food all out of this World. Warm welcome, knowledgeable sommelier who exudes positivity and tells you a fabulous story about the wine, I could listen to him all day. The food is served and explained and is of an exquisite nature. I often don’t even read the ingredients and just try it - and I’m never disappointed. You’d be surprised how small dishes can fill you so much. A fabulous place, and a credit to Simon Wood. We will be back again and again.

Visited Wood for my birthday with my partner. Overall, we were both so impressed with our visit! We loved the atmosphere, the music, the staff and the selection on the menu. They were playing nostalgic pop rock music and it just felt so relaxed and non-pretentious, really added to our enjoyment! The staff were all super friendly and couldn’t do enough for us! The food was absolutely delicious, very wide selection - we were struggling to choose! Highly recommend the venison tartare, the pork main and the salted caramel tart! Also the cocktails are fantastic!

Me and my daughter came here just before Christmas. The service was excellent. The staff went above and beyond. Great service. We were only going to stay for one drink but the service was so good we decided to stay for a few more. There was a singer too. They had a cocktail menu but did offer to make any one we wanted even if it wasn't on the list. I gave the ingredients for a Disaronno Mistletoe which is one of my favourites. They made it to perfection. They even gave us snacks. Excellent service and we will definitely return. Thank you 😊

We love vintage ambiance. I used to visit here a lot a few years ago, but hadn’t visited again until recently and I was very surprised. Me and my family went for the first time again a few weeks ago and we have returned every weekend since. Their iced coffees are so delicious. We haven’t had chance to try too many of the breakfasts yet, but the pancakes and scrambled egg with chorizo are both gorgeous. The staff are lovely and friendly.

Well worth a visit. A beautiful station turned into a fabulous cafe/bar. Victorian style at its best, so well thought out and decorated. A cafe with style and atmosphere. Great food, staff and decor. We got a train from Urmston to Irlam just 6 mins. Then we had a lovely lunch and drinks at this great cafe.

Had a lovely meal in here. I was very impressed with the whole restaurant. It has loads of history all around the place. You can sit at a table or in a carriage. We sat inside a carriage. All the staff were very helpful. The other customers were fun too. We had a cheese and bacon omelette for £8.95 and a tuna and mayo sandwich £5.85 also some drinks it came just under £20. We booked a table. I would recommend booking a table. This restaurant has everything, great food and great train history. A definite place to check out

Coming here during weekday afternoon there’s no queue at all, got the chance to visit their biggest branch before but this time wanted to try different branch. The vibes always lively yet warm and cozy. Coming here twice both ordered Turkish eggs, it was creamy, fulfilling and ✨the sauce✨ still amazing. Coffee both bold and strong, the drink also has various options depending on your preferences. We had a lovely two course dinner. The starters were lovely and a good portion size. The main courses were brilliant with lovely flavours and lots of choice for different dietary requirements. The dinner was delivered quickly with time for an extra drink before the show. The waiter was lovely and the service was quick with no complaints.

Staff are super friendly and helpful. Reasonable prices and delicious food. Especially like the lunch menu and meal of the day. Great feel and atmosphere also manages to feel cozy despite the size and openness of the place. Love the big windows also. Kids play kitchen Is super cute also but doesn't stop the place feeling very grown up friendly .

Visited tonight for my daughters birthday. They accommodated 12 of us, for a last minute booking. The food was lovely and well priced too. The service was even better. The staff were so helpful and friendly. My youngest daughter made a new best friend with Mia, who was serving on the bar (and has now made me promise to return). I've visited the Laundrette twice now and both times were great. The food is delicious and the atmosphere/decor is lush. I ordered the mini truffle Mac n cheese, popcorn honey halloumi & the cauliflower wings with Korean sauce and an espresso martini to drink. The staff were very accommodating when we added more people to our party at the last minute. They were very attentive throughout our meal. I love it there. A great selection of food and drink! Highly recommend!

An excellent all-around experience. Customer service was brilliant they even made me a fresh lemonade drink. The food was divine and so tasty. The sharing platter was enough for three of us and worth the money. I had the Korean pizza, and I was full quickly and was able to take it away.

(This was from a couple months ago) This place was excellent, when I came it was a blazing hot day and the outside area was really nice. The staff were all so kind when I was ordering my drinks and even had helpful instructions on that the cocktails would melt in the sun so it was best to separate them out. I didn’t manage to get food but if I did I can imagine it being amazing. The prices are absolutely spot on and definitely bang for your buck. The only note I can make is that they are quite strict on the time you can stay at your table but that’s not an issue cause it does state it when you book.

Second visit. Went for lunch on a Sunday in February. Booking is a must at busy times. Tables also available outside which have heaters. Ironically, inside was a little cool! Food and service were very good though. We had a lovely time and will definitely be going again.

2 courses for £15! This might very well be the best value lunch in Manchester. Superb duck spring roll to begin with, followed by a fish and chips as good as any I’ve before encountered. The service was prompt and polite. We were looked after by Annie, who was an absolute delight. I’ll be back.

Friendly staff. Very nice Margherita pizza. Nice and quiet mid week afternoon. Plenty of parking in their own free car park shared with the restaurant next door (Dukes) just remember to put your number plate in at the door).

100/10. Amazing food, amazing cocktails and even better AMAZING waiter. Elliot was awesome and made us laugh and feel right at home. Wish we lived in the UK so we could pop in more. Thanks again Elliot, you’re doing amazing ;)
