Been here twice recently to sample the steak and we were not disappointed at all. Great place with good atmosphere and service! Both times the meals were excellent, timing between courses perfect and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Will be going again next week. Could be an ideal "first dinner date" type of place or just somewhere to enjoy a very nice meal. If you haven't been there, definitely try it!

Excellent meal here. The restaurant was quite busy but there was not a long wait for service or food. Our meals were cooked perfectly, the staff were professional and polite. 10/10, we will be back.

Went here on 24/09 for a last minute big booking midday sit-down and I honestly don't think I've been to a better pub in my life. Great staff, great food and ensconced in a wonderful old building full of character. If you're thinking about visiting, stop dillydallying and get on with it. Even better considering we gave them an hour's notice. I recommend the Beef Short Rib.

We were camping at Dapplewood campsite just down the road and walked to the Old Inn for drinks and an evening meal. Staff are very friendly and made a fuss of our dog, couldn't be more helpful. I can recommend Tanglefoot ale it went down very well, well all 5 did. I had the Old Inn pizza with french fried & my partner had the beef stroganoff, all the food was freshly cooked and very tasty. Highly recommend coming here if your in the area. We'll be back soon šŸ˜‹

Wandered across this place while dawdling around Wimborne. Grabbed some Flapjack, Banana Bread and Brownie to take home with us. all delicious, I would happily stop here again if I wanted some light food or some tea and a bit of cake. Also take a look around the little home store in the court yard. Has some lovely and unique items.

Beautiful cafe, lovely food, coffee and cake. Staff very friendly and accommodating. The setting is great, hidden away from the hustle and bustle of the high street. The outside seating area is really charming. Iā€™d also recommend the burger nights on a Thursday night. Burgers by Flaming Peaches (best burger Iā€™ve ever eaten!) which you can take to the cafe, enjoy the ambience and have drinks. Really recommend!

We stumbled on this lovely hidden gem as we were looking for a place to get out of the rain and something to eat. The team were very friendly, the food was excellent, I had a sourdough toastie with ham and cheddar cheese, my parter had the hummus and tomato alternative. The toasties were complemented with a side salad, the icing on the cake was the honey mustard dressing which came separate, absolutely delicious. As for the drinks, my cappuccino was fantastic, and my partner enjoyed her latte. Shame it was raining, I'm sure on a nice warm day the courtyard area is a perfect place to sit and enjoy a brunch.

The Cowshed Dorset

Rating: 4.6 (466) Price Level:

We had a baby shower for my sister at The Cow Shed in their Barn area on Saturday, and it was perfect - everything we had hoped for! The staff were so helpful, both in the lead-up to the event and on the actual day. The barn itself is really picturesque, which was perfect for photos. We opted for a cream tea with both sweet and savory scones, and it was lovely. We paid per head for drinks, which guests could get from the private bar as and when they wished. There was plenty of room for games ect too. We couldn't recommend it more. We had the most special afternoon celebrating our new arrival with family and friends. A big thank you to The Cow Shed Team šŸ¤

The cowshed breakfast was a delight. The hash browns was one of the best i have tried in UK. Overall, it is highly recommended.

Had the pleasure of visiting here last Sunday we arrived just after 10 and there were already quite a few people here. Offered seating inside or out, we ordered coffees which were very good and then I chose the homemade granola bowl which was absolutely delicious (it was also huge!) my husband chose the Mexican open flatbread which looked amazing, which he said was really good. Lovely friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Coffee here is amazing. Some of the smoothest I have had in a while. Its a cash only cafe hidden away by the river. Very cute with great staff and fresh cooked food. Well worth seeking it out and any of the small specialist shops which surround it. Its busy and small so you might not get a seat inside on a cooler day.

We visit regularly as my son loves the full English breakfasts, which are great value at Ā£8. The staff are friendly and it's always clean. It's pretty small, so there's sometimes a wait at peak times. Only other thing to note is that it's cash only but there's a free cash point close by.

Lovely cafe and extremely reasonable breakfast was lovely and great to sit in the sunshine. Only minor criticism is change the sausages. The bacon was lovely quality but the sausages seem cheap. Itā€™s so reasonable that would happily pay more for a better quality sausage. Rest of the breakfast included the toast is fab.

Ten Bottles - Wine, Cocktails, Small Plates & Tapas Style Dining

Rating: 4.7 (76) Price Level:

Very cozy atmosphere. The bare brick walls were tastefully incorporated into the decor. Our party of 4 were ensconced by the door on some very high seats. Many women seem to frequent the place. We had cocktails šŸø the pineapple daiquiri followed by a margarita. Very well mixed. They cost a total of Ā£16 for the two. Our overall bill was around Ā£60.00. They also do a range of Tapas dishes which seemed to go down well with the other clients in the bar area šŸ¤”. Definitely worth a further visit when I am next in the area. Recommended if slightly pricey!

Gorgeously cosy booths, for a romantic evening. The ambiance here is lovely and reminds me of Isabels in Penhill. The service is good and the food is nice. I loved the intimate atmosphere. The food, although good, is not quite on a par with Renoufs, who have a better selection of wines as well. Renouf's food within Ten Bottles would be perfection!

We popped in on Thursday night, one of the hottest nights of the summer so far! 2 cocktails for Ā£15 and 3 tapas for Ā£18. We sat in one of the booths and were given the menus. Plenty of cocktails and wines to choose from. Cocktails were lovely. We ordered 6 of the tapas dishes, all very tasty. Staff are lovely. It was very warm where we seated, so one of the of the lovely bar staff found us a fan! Now, thatā€™s what I call service! Had a lovely evening. If you havenā€™t been before go and try out this little gem in Wimborne.

Had a pre-Xmas Sunday get together and the venue and staff were absolutely awesome - would have scored them a 5 but the veg was too sparse on all the roasts (albeit they did bring us more when asked) and what should have been the absolute bomb of a dessert didnā€™t quite hit the mark as the sauce to melt the rock hard chocolate case hadnā€™t been heated up. Will definitely return - itā€™s a fab venue, with fab staff and food šŸ‘šŸ‘

We visited on Christmas day and had an absolutely amazing lunch. The service by the restaurant and bar staff was fantastic and every detail had been thought about to make a special meal on Christmas day that bit more memorable. The table looked beautiful and the rustic bread on arrival and a Christmas card was a lovely touch, the main courses were delicious - I had the traditional turkey roast and the meat was spot on! A big thank you to Katie, Bridie, Sophie and the rest of the team who all looked after us so well and really made a it a Christmas Day to remember.

The Old Thatch in Stapehill, Wimborne, Dorset, a 17th century pub which sits directly opposite historic Stapehill Abbey has a very warm and welcoming feel to it, from the roaring fireplace to the friendly smiling staff. My wife and I decided to try this place out as we had heard great things, and we were not disappointed. We had not booked, but the staff found us a lovely cosy corner next the fire. The seating was very comfy and I could have stayed all afternoon. The staff was very attentive and a drinks order placed within a few minutes of sitting down. After a quick study of the menu the waitress brought over the drinks order and took our food order. The starter arrived in good time and it tasted fantastic, fresh and full of flavour, once finished the waitress wasted no time in clearing our plates and again the main course arrive shortly after hot and freshly cooked. The mains were perfect, the pie was great and the vegetables cooked to perfection, crisp and full of colour. The deserts followed and again food heaven. So what does this place score for us. Atmosphere, 5 stars Service, 5 stars Food quality, 5 stars Price, 5 Stars

Have had a couple of Saturday evenings at The Old Thatch recently. Lovely food (Venison pie, fish pie and apple & berry crumble with custard), efficient and friendly service and accommodating to a large friendly dog, who was happy to receive gravy bones and a bowl of water. Good beer, including real ale on tap. Busy, but everyone seemed to be having such a good time - so much to recommend and will definitely be back there again soon. Thank you for your hospitality x
