We were recommended to eat lunch here at The Duke of Wellington by one of the locals we met in the street. Great value, piping hot food, served promptly and with a friendly smile! Thank you especially to Susie who made my mum and dad feel very welcome. The ham, egg and chips were really tasty as was the scampi. Lagers and beer were also great! We all really enjoyed our delicious food and a nice window seat. We will definitely visit again and recommend this super pub!

We visited during the last Wareham Wednesday event and despite being very busy we had a lovely meal from a friendly team. It was Steak night and my Wife and I had a rump steak and steak burger. Both were cooked as we asked and very tasty. Excellent value all round and we'll be back.

An incredible hidden gem! Staff were so helpful and friendly. Having a large booking they rang the day before to confirm brought over extra chairs when required as well. The food was incredible the portions don’t look big but I left so full and having had the best time! The dishes were so aesthetically pleasing to the eye and had one of the best afternoon teas I’ve had. Only criticism is for the scones more jam and cream required on the afternoon teas but it was still delicious nonetheless.

We had the Halloumi Wrap and the Roasted Veg. Hummus Avocado Baguette. Both were delicious. Nice setting and a large menu generally with some more vegan options such as the Butternut Squash Soup. Good pricing too and service.

Amazing food, highly recommend the halloumi wrap or the quiche. Friendly staff although service was a little slow, however it was busy so to be expected to an extent. Great value for money on food and drink choices and lovely cosy atmosphere. Recommend a visit for an authentic Dorset countryside experience

I have been before but my friend had not and we both enjoyed our lunch. She was impressed with the choice of food and teas/coffees and loved the ambience. My rarebit was tasty and she said her fish quiche was delicious but a very generous portion that she couldn't finish. Staff were helpful, friendly and attentive without being overbearing. We will certainly be back.

If you want to learn about protecting and encouraging nature then Arne nature reserve is a great place to visit. You'll get lots of ideas on encourage wildlife and insects to thrive. The landscape varies from woodland, heathland, mudflats and coastal walks. If you're lucky enough you may get sightings of a sand lizard basking on the stony cliff, deer grazing in the surrounding fields and English bluebells flowering in May.

A group of retired firefighters met for a pre-christmas get together for lunch and a few drinks. Excellent staff/team, food and drinks, a place to relax and have a fabulous time. Atmosphere minus a star only because I wasn't keen on the decor, but that's my fault. Highly recommended restaurant!

We booked a table in advance and ordered the pepperoni pizza, carbonara, crab linguine and pork chop. Food was very delicious. The servings are massive and filling. Focaccia for starters was amazing! The staff were very friendly and welcoming. It felt like an authentic Italian restaurant, the wine selection is good. Easy to get to and situated on the quay so nice walk after dinner. Prices range from £15 to £30 a meal per person. But it’s worth it! Would definitely recommend.

I had a really good lunch here last Saturday, just me on a terrace table watching the world go by... first time in Poole! Excellent food, with super friendly and efficient service from Lucy and Charlotte who definitely deserve a shout out. Scallops and Chorizo starter, Moules Mariniere main and a shamefully rich Sundae to finish, I could barely stand up.... Great place, highly recommended!!

Offered seating inside or out, we ordered coffees which were very good and then I chose the homemade granola bowl which was absolutely delicious (it was also huge!) my husband chose the Mexican open flatbread which looked amazing, which he said was really good. Lovely friendly staff. Highly recommended.

We had a baby shower for my sister at The Cow Shed in their Barn area on Saturday, and it was perfect - everything we had hoped for! The staff were so helpful, both in the lead-up to the event and on the actual day. The barn itself is really picturesque, which was perfect for photos. We opted for a cream tea with both sweet and savory scones, and it was lovely. We paid per head for drinks, which guests could get from the private bar as and when they wished. There was plenty of room for games ect too. We couldn't recommend it more. We had the most special afternoon celebrating our new arrival with family and friends. A big thank you to The Cow Shed Team 🤍

Also, I was very impressed with the general cleanliness. Toilets were immaculate. I would definitely recommend this place. 👍

Lovely place to stay, the rooms are situated in a very quaint building above a small shop. The room was up a steep staircase so not suitable if you are unable to climb stairs. But the view from the room was lovely, the room itself was small but clean and tidy with tea making facilities. The pub itself was lovely with very friendly staff who were happy to help in any way, the food both in the evening band at breakfast was great. Thank you to all

Wonderful place, sitting in the covered outdoor area overlooking the harbour. Service is relaxed and friendly. It's certainly not "Fast Food", but then in this lovely relaxed environment, who cares! Some lovely fish dishes on the menu and for three of us having a main and dessert with a bottle of wine and a pint of Doom Bar the bill just broke the £100 barrier. Food was excellent and we were lucky, the sun shone and we had a lovely lunch. Bare in mind that prices of each dish is cheaper by a pound or two if you are a member of the club.

The staff and atmosphere really do make this place extra special, you feel very welcomed and an added bonus they absolutely love dogs. We are so lucky to have such a superb spot like this in Dorset.
