Top Places and Services in Groombridge, Kent
The Junction Inn
Station Rd, Groombridge, Tunbridge Wells TN3 9RB, UK | Pub P: 01892 864275
Rating: 4.5 (284) Price Level:
We made a pitstop at the Junction Inn during our trip on the Spa Valley Railway and let me tell you, it was a stroke of luck that we were able to snag one of the last available tables. And what a lucky break it was! The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, the atmosphere was cozy and quirky, and the food was nothing short of amazing. We were anticipating typical pub food, but the dishes we had were top-notch, both in taste and presentation. The spicy cod burger had the perfect amount of heat, the minted peas with the fish and chips were a refreshing twist, and the chicken burger was grilled to perfection. It may be a bit pricier than other options, but it's worth every penny! I would highly recommend booking in advance if you're looking to enjoy a meal here during your steam train experience.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch here with my family. Nice roast selection which they will also scale down for kids. Very broad menu, lovely friendly service.
Rating: 5 / 5
We stopped for Sunday lunch after pumpkin picking and it was a great place to come with children. We have two young children and they were very welcoming and accommodating. The roasts were excellent and steaming hot, plus generous portions. Very happy we found this place!

Pleasant local pub with lots going on. Really good menu with high quality ingredients. This pub caters to tourists from the preserved railway but also needs to keep a customer base from the surrounding village. Overall a nice place for soup and a pint
Rating: 5 / 5
We had a fantastic lunch at The Junction Inn today. We all found that the food was excellent! Lovely location in Groombridge, opposite the cricket pitch, so we could watch them playing from the pub. It is very reasonably priced for such great quality food. Well worth a visit!

Rating: 4.6 (395) Price Level:
Went here by chance with my brother before attending a wedding at High Rocks. The warm and friendly lady serving was lovely. We had a couple of pints for a good selection and a beef sandwich with amazing horseradish. The beef was delicious nice thick piece, served in delicious crusty bread, a little salad and chips - perfect đ Highly recommend this place if you are in the area.

Superb local pub that was visited at the end of a long (10 mile) walk in the area. Ample seating out front, inside, and in the back garden. Old-style pub, with beams and low ceilings. Friendly staff who advise about menu and where best to sit. Kid friendly with play equipment out back. Parking on the green out front, with limited parking spaces behind the pub.
Rating: 5 / 5
Great little pub in a lovely location. Decided to take a walk from Groombridge Station (Spa Valley Railway steam day, yeah I know, bit geeky but don't care) and decided to go for a quick drink. The nearest was only 200 yards so not much of a walk and Crown was only about half a mile amble so chose there. Sat outside the front, not too much traffic on country road. Good range of beers including a Czech lager I hadn't had before and whose name I now can't remember (sadly!) Hopefully someone reading this will know! Nice little find and will return when in the neighbourhood.

Great pub for a Saturday lunch and a beer. I had the homemade pie of the day which was excellent.

Been there a few times now. Lovely staff, food created with care, excellent local cider!!! Location is amazing with great walks and views around the area. Driving there through the Sussex countryside is also a treat! We had a gluten free and vegan chocolate desert with vanilla ice cream and custard. Really nice!!! đ will definitely return!!!

Aspen Dental Care
20 Mount Ephraim, Royal Tunbridge Wells, Tunbridge Wells TN4 8AS, UK | Dentist P: 01892 516030
Rating: 4.6 (39) Price Level:
A fantastic dentist! I contacted Dr Patel at very short notice for severe pain, and he called me back very quickly, and prescribed me medication on the day! I am now in the process of getting full treatment. Barbera at reception is also extremely helpful, efficient and knowledgeable. I've had a few dentists over the years, but they really are a cut above the rest. If you can get an appointment here you are in excellent hands.
Rating: 5 / 5
Today I finished my treatment for Denture implants & multiple single implants, very happy with the results, was a long process. Dr Jay explained everything from start to finish. Would recommend Dr jay Patel very professional & understanding, Nurse Tayo friendly, & efficient, Receptionist Barbara friendly & helpful. Thank you all.
Rating: 5 / 5
Really great practice, staff are all very welcoming and fantastic with nervous patients.
Rating: 5 / 5
I had not been to a dentist for many years until I recently registered at Aspen Dental Care as I had an issue. Right from the start I was greeted with a warm, reassuring and professional welcome from the receptionist, which made me feel confident. Dr Jay Patel and his assistant Tayo were brilliant, really explaining what my issue was and how it would be dealt with. I'm really happy I chose Aspen and would definitely recommend. Great Dentist, Great team
Rating: 5 / 5
I went to the Aspen Dental Practice having had a very bad experience with the Hill House Dental Practice who look at patients as an ATM. Jay carried out the required dental work thoroughly and professionally such that I have not experienced any of the attendant severe discomfort I endured for a month prior to booking with Aspen Dental Practice. I could not recommend Aspen more highly for they are caring and highly professional.

Thackeray's Restaurant
85 London Rd, Royal Tunbridge Wells, Tunbridge Wells TN1 1EA, UK | Restaurant P: 01892 511921
Rating: 4.5 (422) Price Level:
Love our lunch and the staff were all very friendly! I made a note upon booking mentioning it's for my husband's birthday, they left a birthday card on the table when we arrived and a little cake with candle đŻď¸ that's really sweet! We were already talking about visiting again to try out other dishes â¤ď¸
Rating: 5 / 5
We love it here. Photos over a couple of visits. Always fantastic service and attention to detail. The food is consistently a winner and somewhere weâll be returning to many times in the future!
Rating: 4 / 5
The food was wonderful, the service was top notch and the location was beautiful. However I give it an overall 4 star as I felt sometimes that the dishes were a tad small for the price tag. We were 2 people and our bill came to ÂŁ300 and we only had 2 x the chefâs tasting menu and 2 glasses of wine (not even a bottle) as we were driving. The raspberry soufflĂŠ is one of the best Iâve ever tried and definitely the one that will make this visit memorable.

Thackerayâs in Tunbridge Wells is an absolute gem that delivers an exceptional dining experience. From the moment you arrive, the beautiful venue exudes elegance and charm, making it the perfect setting for any occasion. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with just the right balance of sophistication and comfort. The food is nothing short of outstanding. We started with the halloumi, which was cooked to perfection â crispy on the outside, soft and flavorful on the inside. For the main, the fillet steak was a true masterpiece â tender, juicy, my partner had the ribeye which I must say was bursting with flavour and a bigger portion but both were cooked to perfection medium rare. It was paired with sides that complemented the dish flawlessly a truffle jus. To finish, we shared the tart Tatin dessert, which was nothing short of heavenly. The caramelized apples, buttery pastry, and creamy accompaniment of brand and plain cream made it an unforgettable end to the meal with rum and and raisin ice cream đ The service was impeccable throughout, with staff who were attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about ensuring every guest has a fantastic experience. Thackerayâs is not just a restaurant but an experience, where every detail is considered to perfection. Whether for a special celebration or simply a treat, this is a place that truly stands out. I canât recommend it highly enough â absolutely five stars!
Rating: 4 / 5
We enjoyed the food at this restaurant, as it was of very good quality. However, we couldn't help but feel that the portion sizes were a bit on the smaller side, considering the price tag. I personally left a bit hungry. The set lunch for 2, along with a bottle of water, all together priced at 99 pounds, felt quite steep. Additionally, finding parking in the area proved to be quite difficult.

Smith & Western
Linden Park Rd, Royal Tunbridge Wells, Tunbridge Wells TN2 5QL, UK | American Restaurant P: 01892 550750
Rating: 4.2 (1527) Price Level:
We have visited this restaurant several times and we cannot fault it. The staff are friendly , on the ball, keeping the place clean, the food is delicious!! The atmosphere is always lovely and fun, great music!! We stayed in their rooms once which were beautifully presented and clean. Perfectly located if you fancy a walk into the centre or going on the Spa Valley steam train. Delicious breakfast!!
Rating: 5 / 5
We are addicted to Smith and western! The food is always incredible as is the service! We make time to visit often as its our favourite place to eat! In the 6 times we've visited We have NEVER had a bad meal or experience.
Rating: 4 / 5
I visited this place for the first time with three other people. We all enjoyed the food, service, and ambiance. However, the music was uncomfortably loud, making it difficult for us to have a conversation without shouting. This ultimately ruined our experience, and we decided to skip dessert and leave early because we were getting headaches. As much as we appreciated the quality of the food, the convenient location, and the good service, the excessively loud music means I wonât be returning.â
Rating: 5 / 5
First time visiting and WOW what an experience. Brilliant food, good portion sizes, tasty sauce and excellent customer service to top it all. As we walked in, I rather sarcastically exclaimed âwouldnât be surprised to see cowboy hats and boots hereâ and to my surprise thatâs exactly what all the team were wearing, and the general vibe and energy matched! Lovely experience and will be returning!

White Bear
84 High St, Royal Tunbridge Wells, Tunbridge Wells TN1 1YB, UK | Pub P: 01892 318010
Rating: 4.2 (802) Price Level:
The food was really good. However Iâm going to mention the service. Lucy P was brilliant. It was a busy Xmas lunch with work colleagues and Lucy navigated around all our requests and never got it wrong! She remembered orders without writing it down. Friendly and smiling. The reason. Why you come back to a place is because of how they make you feel. I felt welcomed. Well done.
Rating: 5 / 5
Extremely professional service from the staff. The place was seriously busy with what appeared to be very few staff. Extremely impressed Every enquiry was met with a positive response and a smile. Even when there was a problem the young lady dealt with it as promptly as she possibly could given the amount of people pulling her in ever single direction possible. Thank you for making our night an enjoyable one. We will be back

What a find! We were struggling to locate anywhere with the kitchen open for late lunch (that wasnât a cafe serving sandwiches) and got very lucky with the white bear. Dog friendly and super attentive from the moment we walked in from the cold rainy outdoors. Dog water and adorable treats brought to us the second we sat down 𧥠The atmosphere is super cosy with lovely low lighting and candles on every table - really calm and relaxing. The food was super lovely, enjoyed a generous portion of fish and chips from their lunch menu and left feeling stuffed! The staff were fantastic and very friendly, checking in on us to bring our courses within perfect timing. Ignore the other horrible reviews and go have a brilliant pub lunch at this spot, wonât disappoint đđź

Well, this has to be one of the nicest places to visit on a trip to Royal Tunbridge Wells. The food and service was of an exceptional standard. The ambience is perfect. We only popped in for a lunch. Best burger I've had in such a long time. Big compliments to the chef and waiting staff!

A lovely bar and restaurant. The roof is open at the back and it was a lovely sunny day. This is what weâd call a posh pub as the food is at treat prices with a rib eye steak being ÂŁ37. Good service, great food and attentive service. A little pricey.

The Beacon
Tea Garden Ln, Tunbridge Wells TN3 9JH, UK | Hotel P: 01892 524252
Rating: 4.4 (602) Price Level:
I had the sincere pleasure of photographing a wedding here in June of this year (2024). As a Kent resident and local wedding and family photographer, I was so looking forward to working at The Beacon - having heard many good things about it through other photographers, and it did not disappoint! The staff were incredible! So welcoming, friendly and impeccably organised! I now understand why so many enjoy visiting and working at this venue. The grounds are stunning. It truly is the most impressive and beautiful location/backdrop for a wedding. Especially during the Spring/Summer months!I can't say enough nice things about it and I very much hope to have the pleasure of returning again in the future. Thank you to the wonderful staff at The Beacon for making my first wedding there one to remember for all the right reasons! To any prospective couples looking for a country garden-inspired wedding venue in the heart of Kent - I have a strong feeling that you will simply love The Beacon!

The most wonderful place to have our family celebration lunch. Beautiful views from the Billiard Room, delicious food and very attentive staff ( Kate was brilliant).
Rating: 5 / 5
Our third visit and have come to recognise and understand the quality that oozes through the menu, the service and the atmosphere. Pretty sure the Beacon is unable to turn out a bad meal or a disappointing experience. The crew are on it and creating a delightful experience is their thing. Attentive. Charming. And capability in spades. Bravo! đđ

Another great dining experience for a group lunch a couple of weekends ago. Manager was particularly helpful as they had run out of Champagne, except DP. He kindly found another bottle not on the wine list which he offered to us at a discounted price. The food was great, specifically the crab with Tabasco. Only blip on the landscape was the mussel dish which was a little bland. Particular mention to our waiter Simon who was so helpful and made an impression with the whole table.

The Warren Restaurant
5A High St, Royal Tunbridge Wells, Tunbridge Wells TN1 1UL, UK | Restaurant P: 01892 328191
Rating: 4.4 (316) Price Level:
Four of us plus baby ate here in early December, excellent service and lovely food. We ate a range of meals and all were delicious. Engaging staff, comfortable surroundings and great atmosphere. Highly recommended.
Rating: 4 / 5
I've been here three times. The first time in 2016, then mid-2023, and now mid-2024. My second visit was a huge improvement and the food delicious, especially the pork cheek starter. Excellent service as well. Cheapest bottle of wine is about ÂŁ26, going up to something like ÂŁ300. Meal for two was about ÂŁ125 including tip, which included starter, main and a bottle of wine. Most recent visit seemed like it had gone downhill slightly. Service seemed a bit lacking - they were friendly but it felt a bit forced.
Rating: 5 / 5
I have been visiting The Warren for years, they won my heart. The food is exceptional, service is friendly and attentive and the atmosphere is welcoming and simply enchanting. I have hosted many successful events at this stunning restaurant (at no hire charge) business meetings/socials, family lunches and more intimate meals with loved ones. The attention to detail makes each visit and course special. My dietary requirements have evolved over the years and I have always felt appreciated and catered for with love. If you have any questions just give them a call! Youâll be thrilled you did.

Visited on a Friday night by reservation. I felt so well looked after here. I suffer allergies, gluten, peanuts, and shellfish, and felt confident to eat here without compromising on taste. I ordered the lamb and chocolate brownie and it was a delight on every mouthful, so many different flavours abd textures that all complimented each other. The staff were all very professional, and the atmosphere was calm and not too noisy, so I could easily have a conversation with my husband without having to talk louder. The chef also came out at the end, which was a delight to talk to him. Would definitely recommend.

Jay is amazing as always! Both him and the dental nurse always make me feel welcome and involved in my own dental health. He also gives me great advice regarding my teeth. (Side note: I have had an extraction, I was terrified of having it done but it couldn't have gone any better - the support was fantastic). Great team overall!

Nick Ghateh at Bupa Dental Care Tunbridge Wells is an experienced dentist with over 35 year experience. I had to have two wisdom teeth removed because the were starting to grow sideways. The care that he puts into putting a patient's mind at rest is extraordinary even before the procedure begins. I was reassured by the wealth of experience knowing that I can be at times an uneasy patient. He had explained to me what it entails and went smooth I had my first one removed in May and went back yesterday to have the other one removed . I would highly recommend his practice if you're looking for a reliable dentist and a pleasant experience.
