I was gladly surprised by this place. We visited on a Sunday around 330pm. Not much around opened so we gave it a go. Looks a bit tired & needs an updating but the view is great, food was yummy, portions are not big. I don't eat much and thought it wasn't enough. Service is nice & local. Prices are London wise, we were surprised on this too.

My friends and I enjoyed our night. The service was good. The food was really good, decent portion. My friend said it was the best gnocchi she ever had and the fruit of the sea was also really nice (lots of seafood, could tell the pasta was fresh, couldve been spicer for us tho). Desserts good too. No complaints.

The most scrumptious serving of pasta I have had the pleasure of indulging in... I offered a friend a taste but told her she had better try it now as I couldn't promise any leftovers... and I nearly had to lick the plate! The best part is I didn't feel uncomfortably stuffed after downing the entire plate! Cannot wait for another excuse to visit Dover Marina so I can bask in another heavenly moment at Bella Vita! Thank you chef Larissa, for your hospitality, personality and your amazing food!

Amazing place, the food is beyond my expectations, well presented and tastes good. The atmosphere is relaxing with a beautiful view and gentle live music. Honestly in 10 years in UK is the first Good 5 stars restaurant that I've been so far.

Nice Italian restaurant by the port. We tried their Filetto Di Salmone, Risotto Pollo Pesto & Asparagi and a Chicken Fillet with mushrooms. They were all good. There is a lot of seating. The staff were very friendly.

I phoned Dave and explained I had a so called electrician rewire my house but left it incomplete just before covid lockdown. After lockdown I could not get hold of him to finish the work. Dave did me a huge favour by taking on a job someone else had started. He sent Rob who then had to pick up were the last guy left off. Rob did a great job and only took him a day to sort it out. Dave & Rob are genuinely nice guys. Thank you

Rooms look like they’ve recently been refurbished, lovely decor and cosy rooms. Coffee machine and lovely shower. Free parking although it’s limited so a bit difficult in a large car, there’s other parking nearby though. Breakfast in the morning was lovely and the pub is really pleasant for an evening tipple. Bed comfy although slightly small and room 1 was very noisy (potentially from kitchen dishwasher below). Other than that, ideal stay and would recommend!

Bar staff are really nice. Room was decent for price - clean and bathroom was fully stocked with goodies and spa included. Spa was good but no pool. Still, it was nice and clean. Gym looks good. All in all, good. Only issue is the automatic door goes towards you when you enter up the main entrance stairs - bit of a health amd safety issue in my opinion. Lift also takes forever, so just walk if you can.

We didn’t realise this was a halal restaurant when we came in but actually really enjoyed the halal English breakfast - everything was cooked to perfection and very tasty, and they were very good on ensuring my food was dairy free. Kids also enjoyed calamari and chips, and a panini, and generously sized smoothies. Service was exceptionally friendly. Definitely recommend!

Stopped in for a breakfast to take with me to the train station. I ordered a decaff iced coffee, and a bacon, brie and cranberry panini (£10.90 all together). The coffee and food came quickly, and I took it away to eat. The panini was delicious, and the iced coffee was good too, just could have done with some sugar added to the hot coffee before it was poured, but I didn't ask for sugar so that was my error. The manager was around checking things and the staff were friendly, wearing their hair coverings and were presentable and clean. I'd recommend this establishment and will very likely be back again, next time I'm in Dover.

The Eight Bells - JD Wetherspoon

19 Cannon St, Dover CT16 1BZ, UK | Pub
P: 01304 205030

Rating: 4.1 (2496) Price Level:

Really nice traditional English pub atmosphere with reasonably friendly service. The food was ok, nothing special, but I wouldn’t have any problems eating there again. The pepper signs indicating spiciness should be taken with a grain of salt. I had the madras curry, which has four pepper signs, and I wouldn’t have known it was meant to be spicy otherwise.

What a lovely Wetherspoons.. The staff were super friendly, attentive, talkative, polite and very nice. (Especially, the man and woman behind the bar, who I think said they had known each other 9 years) they were so welcoming, to the point before heading home we had to return for another drink. We were so surprised to see a pint of Doom Bar for £2.10 and free refill Tea/Coffee for £1.04. The ladies toilets were up a couple of stairs and clean. The overall bar was clean and as with most Spoons a little dark inside. The bar was clean with a great display of drinks. There were some great pictures and frames etc on the walls. We also tried the new Mozart White Chocolate Cream Liqueur.. totally recommend this drink. All in all a lovely Wetherspoons, we would definitely visit if back in the area. The ales poured & settled well and tasted great. We could not have asked for more.

I went in on a Saturday night, the place was buzzing with several groups.. went in for a meal with a colleague after a long day, i was expecting the food to come in a bit later after ordering.. usually about 30/40 minutes in similar places on a Saturday night.. i was pleasantly surprised by being served within 10 minutes! The food was well prepared, at the right temperature. The staff were very polite and friendly.. they came in a couple of times to ask if everything was ok.. i enjoyed my experience and left after letting the kitchen staff know i had enjoyed my meal. Quite busy, but still managed to find an empty table..will come back at some point

Food was also of the consistently high quality we're becoming used to, especially the rump steaks which are really flavourful , and consistently tasty. A Glowing Review of a Wonderful Carvery Experience I had the pleasure of enjoying a delicious carvery this afternoon, Wednesday, 27th November, at lunchtime, and it was truly a fantastic experience. From start to finish, the food and service were absolutely top-notch. Let me begin with the food—fresh, flavorful, and served with a generous portion size. Despite opting for the smaller plate, I was more than satisfied with the amount of food I received. The taste was exceptional, and the presentation showed real care and attention to detail. Steve, the Carvery chef, delivered my meal with great energy and a genuine enthusiasm for his craft, which added to the overall positive vibe of the meal. Equally impressive was the service. Ryan, who took my order, stood out as one of the friendliest and most engaging team members I’ve encountered in a long time. He was attentive without being overbearing, made me feel genuinely welcome, and went out of his way to ensure I got the best possible value for my money. His personality shone through—his genuine interest in delivering excellent service was clear, and his efforts made the experience all the more enjoyable. Overall, I couldn’t be more pleased with my visit. The combination of fantastic food and exceptional service made for a memorable meal. Huge thanks to both Steve and Ryan for their hard work and dedication. I’ll definitely be back!

We went for Christmas dinner. The food was good, although the choice of veg was limited. Sadly, whilst the waiting staff were very friendly and helpful, there weren't enough of them and service was very slow. We had a 2 hour time slot for our meal and were still waiting for our desserts long after that had passed.

The staff were great very friendly and attentive when there. The food was good and great value for money. Even when we had been charged incorrectly which we can understand can happen especially when there were multiple Christmas parties on. Staff were on hand to quickly resolve and rectify the problems which was much appreciated! Will definitely be back at some point

Rating: 3.7 (3) Price Level:

OUTSTANDING COMPANY I hired Goldfinch just before Christmas 21, knowing how busy everyone is and how hard it can be to source anything needed at present i had no expectations of the job being done anytime in the next two weeks. However the job was done finished all my questions answered promptly. They fitted three storgae heaters into a 1757 built cottage. Invoices very clear and organised. Not to mention how tidy they were working and clearing up they did a fabulous job. Would definitely recommend this company. Lovely firm well established.

Fantastic service from the outset. Clear and communicative throughout. Professional and polite when on site. High quality work, that did not feel rushed and left the property clean and tidy once the job was finished.
