Little Farthingloe Farm

Folkestone Rd, Dover CT15 7AA, UK | Restaurant

This is a lovely farm restaurant which caters to all. It's really family friendly and we've had no problem bringing a 4 month old along with us and feeling out of place. The servers are always friendly and there's a good choice of breakfast food on the menu. There's a very nice atmosphere outside when the weather is sunny. I'll definitely be back.

I'm so glad we found this place on our holiday. Stopped in for some lunch and had a very tasty meal. I had the homemade steak chilli which was amazing. Our daughter had a perfect sized portion of pancakes, bacon and hash browns for a really reasonable price. 100% recommend, and sad we didn't have more time to come back again

I recently had the most delightful breakfast experience at Little Farthingloe Farm in Dover, and I couldn't wait to share it. The setting was idyllic, with the farm nestled amidst rolling hills and offering stunning views. The menu was a delicious blend of classic English breakfast favorites and fresh, seasonal ingredients. I opted for the Full English, and it was absolutely perfect. The eggs were cooked to perfection, the bacon was crispy, and the sausages were bursting with flavor. The toast was thick-cut and perfectly grilled, and the beans were creamy and satisfying. But what truly set Little Farthingloe Farm apart was the quality of the ingredients. It was clear that the farm takes great pride in sourcing local, fresh produce. The tomatoes were juicy and sweet, and the mushrooms had a rich, earthy flavor. To top it off, the service was impeccable. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure that every detail of our meal was perfect. If you're ever in Dover, I highly recommend visiting Little Farthingloe Farm for breakfast. It's a truly unforgettable experience that will leave you feeling full and satisfied.

I can NOT say anything bad about the Marquis of Granby!!! Greeted with the warmest of smiles from every single staff member, sensational locally produced food and a fabulous drinks menu. Walking into the Marquis instantly feels like home. A modern twist on a classic cosy pub feel. I live in France now, and it's safe to say I truly miss English pubs; I've been to quite a few in my time, and I absolutely love love love the Marquis. The food is truly incredible. We came at least twice during our week's stay, and every meal was amazing, from the crunchy pork belly bites to the rabbit with gorgonzola gnocchi... everything on the menu is freshly cooked and sourced from the region. The kitchen staff are extremely talented, and deserve all the praise (the crunchiest of crunchy roasted potatoes i've ever had). The service team are a tight run ship, it's a real pleasure to watch them all work so beautifully in unison. They all looked after us so so well, and NOTHING was a problem, just smiles and laughs. Their kindness and attention to detail made our times at the Marquis so special; they would make beautiful mocktails for my daughter and she felt so safe and at ease. I could write an essay on how great the Marquis is, but I can't, so you'll just have to trust me and go see for yourself. Thank you so so much to everyone - I can NOT wait to come back (hopefully soon), my family and I are missing you all already. What a wonderful, lovely and warm place to enjoy lunch/ dinner or just a few too many drinks. Wishing you all a very happy New Year, see you very very soon; and thank you all again :)

I had a fantastic dining experience at Marquis of Granby! The food was absolutely delicious. I was lucky enough to try a few of the small bites as well as a starter. The Camembert and cranberry was my favourite and the pork belly bites were incredible. I also started with the special butternut squash soup, which was rich and flavorful and for the main course, I enjoyed a really tasty burger. The setting and environment were lovely, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The service was excellent, and the overall vibe was delightful. Highly recommend!

The inn is great, we stopped for lunch and both had the roast beef (which was delicious), we also each had a starter which were also excellent. The staff were friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable. It is dog friendly and he was made to feel welcome. The beer was also very good.

Went for Sunday roast, it is one of our favourite launches. Slightly disappointed that the beef was a little tough, however, the rest of the meal (as usual) was faultless. Excellent staff, wonderful ambience and we left 'stuffed' due to the partaking in the enticing starters & sweets on the menu. We will be back (we have also stayed overnight on special occasions and can thoroughly recommend doing that too).

We called for coffee and cakes and...what cakes! All freshly made and very tasty. Price compares well with the overpriced chains on the high street, although soft drinks too expensive at £4 each. Nice courtyard with waiter service, rare in the UK but welcome. Inside dining also. Will return again to try lunch.ample car park. Not easy to find so be patient, it's worth a visit if you like a country drive

This afternoon my friends and I visited the old Dairy Cafe ,tucked away in the village of Goodnestone... and what an absolutely wonderful place this cafe is... First , a word of warning....I live just 8 miles away from this village ,but I still managed to "get lost"...but , once we all finally arrived at the Old Dairy ,we realised we had stumbled upon a true Gem.. The setting is beautiful, even on a cold winter's day...and we have promised ourselves to return again in the Spring and Summer .. The venue is quite delightful , we loved the bone china teacups on display....and those being used.. We decided to puck from the "light lunch " menu... I had cheddar cheese and ham sourdough toastie... reliably informed that the sourdough is called Kirsty and is from a 28 year old batch . The serving was extremely generous, absolutely delicious 😋.. My friends settled with the Ploughman's lunch "with a little bit of everything".. I loved that our tea was served in proper tea pots with little china cups and saucers..... We then decided to complete our visit by experiencing the desert menu...after a lot of thought ,we three all chose the coffee and walnut cake 🍰...I'm not sure how, but we all managed to eat every last crumb of the most delicious cake. Let's just say I definitely won't need any tea tonight. We will definitely visit the old Dairy again , a hidden delight .... wonderful food , and super staff ..

The Best Coffee in Dover by a country mile. The staff here are great, friendly, and attentive, always ready to greet you with a smile. Whenever I visit, I always see a few familiar faces, indicative of the consistency of service. Could not recommend more. Food is simple Café food, done well (They stock Gluten Free Bread!), and there is a large selection of fresh pastries and cakes. Get in early because it fills up quickly, and if you visit in the summer, there's a beautiful, suntrap, courtyard garden out the back.

This is a lovely, lovely coffee shop, the atmosphere is warm, friendly and relaxed, the Manager/Owner and staff are calm and friendly and the place itself has 4 different seating areas - 2 are outside - the courtyard at the back is a delight. Super clean loos always a good indicator I feel - the whole place feels ‘loved’. Coffee is really good too … but the cake! Wow! THE best gluten free Lemon Cake (also choc brownie) I’ve ever had and so fresh! The icing on the cake is that they are SO dog friendly .. we really enjoy going there and so does our Teddie! Thanks for the doggy treats too!

Rooms look like they’ve recently been refurbished, lovely decor and cosy rooms. Coffee machine and lovely shower. Free parking although it’s limited so a bit difficult in a large car, there’s other parking nearby though. Breakfast in the morning was lovely and the pub is really pleasant for an evening tipple. Bed comfy although slightly small and room 1 was very noisy (potentially from kitchen dishwasher below). Other than that, ideal stay and would recommend!

I was gladly surprised by this place. We visited on a Sunday around 330pm. Not much around opened so we gave it a go. Looks a bit tired & needs an updating but the view is great, food was yummy, portions are not big. I don't eat much and thought it wasn't enough. Service is nice & local. Prices are London wise, we were surprised on this too.

My friends and I enjoyed our night. The service was good. The food was really good, decent portion. My friend said it was the best gnocchi she ever had and the fruit of the sea was also really nice (lots of seafood, could tell the pasta was fresh, couldve been spicer for us tho). Desserts good too. No complaints.

The most scrumptious serving of pasta I have had the pleasure of indulging in... I offered a friend a taste but told her she had better try it now as I couldn't promise any leftovers... and I nearly had to lick the plate! The best part is I didn't feel uncomfortably stuffed after downing the entire plate! Cannot wait for another excuse to visit Dover Marina so I can bask in another heavenly moment at Bella Vita! Thank you chef Larissa, for your hospitality, personality and your amazing food!

They went above and beyond with their service. We had a starter each and fish & chips. It was delightful. The place is full of cool antiques and memorabilia. We would highly recommend to anybody with a dog or anybody that wants a comfortable place to eat.

I have not ONE bad thing to say about this place, it is our lunch spot of choice every Saturday. As a pub-loving vegan, and partner veggie, we find it hard to find interesting options to eat out, but this place has obviously put a lot of thought into their menu! They even have vegan chicken options in place of meat which I rarely see. And re the place itself, the staff are incredibly welcoming, attentive and friendly, even when the place is busy. They are also really helpful with any changes we ask for with our meals. It is incredibly dog-friendly, they've even brought over biscuits and water for us :) They are also very child/baby friendly which is important to note, having just had a HORRENDOUS experience at a different Kentish pub which claimed to be child-friendly (and evidently was far from it). The place is super cosy inside for winter, which is perfect for anyone who struggles with the sensory overload of brightness (🙋‍♀️) and is decorated with loads of eccentric bits and bobs, we see something new every time. MASSIVE garden outside with HEATERS, which is truly such a gem for places these days. I honestly don't get some of these negative reviews, some people shouldn't eat out. People complaining about 'fatty cheese'?? Sorry, what? Saying the lasagne wasn't made fresh? Do they understand it takes hours to make a lasagne? (The veggie lasagne is actually so delicious too). And the pièce de résistance for me, moaning that they can't be seated for food when the place is at full capacity for food...I am genuinely confused. Anyway, do yourself a service and go here.
