Sam and the lads were a pleasure to have around doing our full rewire. It took a week which was not unexpected and it was by no means an easy job. They all worked with professionalism and were great at adapting to the many issues they uncovered as they went along! Communication was great throughout and Sam always talked through what was best as well as listening to what we wanted to come up with the best solution. A job well done and looked amazing! Whether you're a foodie or not, you MUST eat here. Came for a belated valentine's meal and on menu change day. We enjoyed not knowing what the choice was before we came. The food was incredible and really reasonable pricing wise. We had starters, mains and dessert and couldn't fault anything. Everything is simple but purposefully done and there's no worries of style over substance (Like a lot of similaly priced places in town). Cantaloupe is clearly all about great ingredients and exceptional cookery. The staff were friendly, inviting and super knowledgeable. There were things on the menu I'd have googled but there was no shame in asking and the waiting staff were happy to share recommendations. The best plates we had were because the waiter, Tom, recommended them. Great come as you are, cosy atmosphere, good music and of course amazing food! Next time I'm going to request to sit with a view of the pass if possible!

We came here for a belated birthday and early anniversary meal and it was perfect! Such a lovely ambience in the place and the food...the wine.. everything! was superb. We ordered dishes to share and everything was delicious. The wine was perfect, I had a beautiful rose which was recommended by our FOH staff which was sublime! My partner also enjoyed the beers that he ordered with our meal. Such a beautiful gem of a place in Stockport and we cannot wait to come back! Thank you so much for a wonderful evening...we will be back! x

Stopped in here for breakfast as our hotel doesn't provide anymore and we were really impressed with the place. Lovely greeting from the staff member behind the counter and the food was delicious. Two mini castles and two toasted teacakes. All cooked to perfection. Would totally recommend if you visit Edgeley.

Nothing is to much trouble at the castle. I am a regular with my family. The breakfasts are lovely with a nice range. You can have a healthy Day or a naughty day with lots of choice. Really enjoying going here nice calm atmosphere. Lovely staff as well.

Super friendly and welcoming, extensive and good value menu, delicious food. Wheelchair ramp is available (only had pram today but other child is a wheelchair user), had decaff coffee and oat milk which is fab. Only thing id change would be to add vegan options and nice caked (though there are waffles and pancakes with loads of topping options). Definitely be back again highly recommend.

Excellent service and very responsive. I needed support for a lighting repair at my elderly and frail parents-in-law. Colin fitted them in at the weekend and this was also one week ahead of his original plan, as he had a cancellation he was able to offer me. He knew the technical solution necessary and was able to fulfill the work required - apart from some impossible to access fittings that required a more major floor lift upstairs and we de-prioritised these in the short term. Above all else, Colin had the best PPE I have ever seen. A full pressure/filter-fed hood which is far better even than the carer staff use when they visit. He was very considerate and courteous and I would definitely use his service again.

We have a wonderful night there, we bring our own drinks which is very attractive ! Curry is delicious, adjust fit for our slight spicy 🌶️ flavour. Butter chicken is great, full of coconut 🥥 sweet!We love this dish. Fabulous little cafe on castle street. Food was amazing and fresh. Proper homemade chips not frozen rubbish. Homemade coleslaw too always hits the spot. Spotlessly clean and tidy. This is a must for anyone looking for quality food in edgeley. My new favourite place right on the doorstep too

My absolute go to for breakfast, genuinely the best full English I've had! Really good quality food and always always cooked to perfection 👌 really friendly staff and a welcoming environment. Plus!! What a lovely place. I had a small breakfast, my plate was hot and everything of great quality. All the staff were friendly and gave a quick service even though every seat was taken. I ordered a roast dinner to take away for my son and again great home made ingredients (even the gravy).

Had visited over 5 years ago for food (excellent), and for drinks only 2 months ago (they don't serve food between 2 and 4.30). This time 6 of us thoroughly enjoyed our range of mains & deserts. Service was great, the Dizzy Blonde fantastic, and didn't break the bank. Won't leave it as long next time.

The Arden has a good reputation for it's food and deservedly so. £12.50 for a roast of this quality isn't common these days, and it's one that satisfies. The other options on the menu have never failed us either
