This place is located at the top of Gold Hill with beautiful views over the valley. It was a beautiful day so we sat on the benches outside to soak in the beautiful views. The staff were friendly and the service was quick. The menu had plenty of of options and the food was really tasty. If you’re a tourist looking for the feel of England, then definitely come here!

Amazingly friendly staff, they made such an effort to make me and especially my little one feel welcome. The food was very good, my little one said she really liked the seasoning on the chicken so the owner so kindly showed her pictures of where she grows it and cut her off a little piece to take home. A hard act to follow at home now it's her favourite meal 😅 will definitely stay again soon.

Gorgeous location, really quiet & relaxing. Room was lovely! Could use another pillow for the bed but I tend to take mine when I travel anyway so it was no bother to me! Food was delicious & all the team working there and super friendly & helpful. Was a pleasure to stay for a night and I absolutely would go back.

We stopped here for lunch on our way to Swanage. We enjoyed a ploughman's lunch (my daughter's) and a Greek salad for me. Both were well presented and delicious. Service was good too. However, the icing on the cake for me was bumping into someone that I had been at school with a very long time ago. It's a shame that our lovely school is now closed. The reminiscence of schooldays so long ago was a great experience.

Milton Abbas is well off the beaten track. It is very Dorset in its feel and nature. Surrounded by farmland and forest. No street lights to speak of and really quiet. At the moment the village is hosting some amazing wooden horse sculptures. Thatched roofs and a wide main street make this a picture postcard village in the heart of rural Dorset. It actually gets properly dark here. Not that you would know any of that from inside this pub. Beautifully appointed inside, really well taken care of with a staff team who are friendly and professional. Great selection of drinks and food alongside regular entertainment and events. You can elect to stay here as well as there are rooms on the first floor. I did not stay this time but I am planning to. If you can find it you will not regret your efforts.

Staff are okay, not overly friendly, but not not nice. Always quick service, reasonable prices, and nice hot cafe style drinks and cake/ pastries. It's not a fancy place, it's a casual place to chill. Good with a child/ baby. And good before/ after a walk round the great field. We got a hot drink each and a croissant.

Well managed little gem in the heart of the park. Great spot for a coffee and a chat whilst watching the children play. Can't fault the place

Excellent place to go for warm and freshly-made food and drinks. It's at a great location and when the park opens up, it will be the ideal spot for everyone. Definitely recommend going. I also work here and the staff and the customers are always so friendly and both parties are always so understanding no matter the circumstance.

I stayed here when I was visiting the Tank Museum. It is a lovely old barn that has been beautifully renovated and is very comfortable. The owner is a sweet lady who is warm and welcoming. Her breakfast is spectacular. They serve dinner a few evenings a week for an additional fee and the food was cooked by her son and was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend staying here and I would absolutely stay here again.

You get all the things that you would get in an expensive hotel, all provided in a more rustic, homely fashion. A super king size bed, en suite shower room, tea and coffee making, TV etc. Breakfast in Claire's kitchen is a really lovely experience. Claire is very helpful and chatty. The only thing is you have to be out by 12:30 and not back before 4:30. But that's not a real problem. Thanks Claire 😊

A warm and friendly welcome, a very comfy bed in the Blue Room and a beautiful location in the depth of the Dorset countryside. An excellent freshly cooked breakfast set us up for the day ahead.

Hive Beach Cafe Burton Bradstock
Beach Rd, Burton Bradstock, Bridport DT6 4RF, UK | Seafood Restaurant P: 01308 897070
Rating: 4.3 (3779) Price Level:
We arrived at 11.20, just in time to order breakfast. We were lucky to get the table on the edge of the 'tent' overlooking the beach. Despite being quite busy we received very efficient service. The food arrived within 15- 20 min, then our hot drinks. We had 3 x full English and egg Benedict on muffin with bacon. Everyone enjoyed it. The only nuisance were a few wasps but not a lot to spoil our experience.

This is a well loved beach cafe which has beautiful scenic views, it is very popular and rightly so. The menu is mainly fish and seafood dishes. However, they do a smashing full English breakfast up to 11.30 am. I will post pics. This dog friendly beach cafe has a carpark close by, but if you choose to walk along the cliff top path or the lower paths, you will walk within the most beautiful scenery. This is a totally table service venue, so once you are seated, you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the view. Prices are reasonable.

Came here today, after walking from our campsite at Graston Copse through Burton Bradstock village. A warm welcome by a member of staff & shown to our outside table for 4 with 3 dogs. Our waitress took our drinks order & returned after a few minutes to take our food order. She was very friendly and attentive, giving time for a chat despite being extremely busy. Wait for our food was minimal and when it arrived it was hot, tasty & well presented. Back ground music was pleasant, giving the Mediterranean feeling due to the sunshine. Wouldn't hesitate in returning if we are in the area again .... thank you.

Camping at Freshwater holiday park, a 20 minute walk to visit this gem of a place. Busy and bustling restaurant, great menu, food was outstanding and the service was great too. Dog friendly aswell, all in all, will definitely be returning soon.

Huge muscles in a nicely balanced blue cheese cream sauce. The fish chowder was also lovely, great tasting fish and fresh veg. We enjoyed on a wet and windy day, outside seating had heaters which warmed us up nicely. Would recommend after a walk.

Very warm and welcoming dog friendly village pub. Spent a weekend here in November, pub has a good atmosphere with friendly staff. The room was clean, large, and really cosy. Dinner menu is varied and the food really good. Breakfast ... full English will keep you going all day. If you bring your dog then thereis good walking directly from the pub. This is a really nice place to stay and I look forward to the opportunity to visit again.

Seven of us just had a great long weekend at The Piddle Inn. You get the back of the pub all to yourself including a fully fitted kitchen, 4 bedrooms a massive lounge and a separate dining room. We also had a back garden to sit in as the weather was so nice. The property is a work in progress and not perfect but has that typical olde English feel. Our second year and we will be back again.

Perfect stay! We had Room 2, and had a lovely view of the river and fields across the way! The room itself was big, as was the bathroom with bath and shower! The bed was very comfy too! As you can expect from a Inn it does get busy and quite noisy in the evening, especially at closing time when you're in bed and trying to sleep but what do you expect? The room/view itself is perfect so it didn't matter to us at all! The landlady was brilliant, hardworking, and friendly! The evening meals and drinks excellent and great value (Cheap!!) And the Breakfast was excellent too! What a lovely place to stay! We will be back one day! 👍👍👍

We stayed for three nights and were very happy. Our room was bigger than we imagined and The River Piddle was just outside our window. The hosts were fabulous, the food and drinks were lovely and the locals were also friendly. We did two fairly long walks in the beautiful surrounding countryside which we found on the village website. If you fancy staying in a characterful Inn with gorgeous surroundings you can't go wrong.

Had great long weekend here for an 80th birthday and could not have asked for more. You have the entire pub to yourself including a fully equipped industrial kitchen, many different inside seating areas, outside seating with BBQ and fire pit, plenty of parking, four good sized ensuite bedrooms and much more. Thoroughly recommended, hope to go back again in the not too distant future

Stopped off at this lovely country pub for some drinks and a meal. I can't comment on the rooms as we didn't stay. It is a charming pub with a fairly small bar and a separate restaurant area. We really enjoyed the pizza made with fresh local ingredients and would highly recommend. I do need to comment on customer service as an area for improvement, as the more mature lady serving behind the bar was quite frankly rude, not making us feel welcome and giving very short and abrupt replies and giving the sense that she didn't want to serve us. When we asked if there was any chance of eating slightly earlier than our booking time we were quite simply told "no". We expected a much friendlier welcome especially in such a lovely country pub. However, all other staff we came across were friendly and polite.

We recently stayed for a 2 night trip to Dorset. We had a great tour round the lovely countryside and this place was the icing on the cake for us. Exactly what we were hoping for. Staff were super friendly, helpful and our room was comfy, clean and spacious. We had dinner there 2 nights, food was delicious (pricey, yes but heck, we were on holidays). We will forever remember with great fondness, being asked by the locals to join them for a few drinks and a game of "spoof", along with a Belgian guest - much to the delight of Issac, behind the bar ! Cheers folks, we hope to see you again one day ! ❤️

Lovely dog friendly Inn. The room was of a good size, very clean and airy. Freshly cooked breakfast made to order was very nice. We didn't stay for an evening meal as the menu didn't overly appeal to our tastes, but it was busy when we passed by so I'm sure it would be of good quality. We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it if looking for somewhere to stay or eat in the Dorchester area.

Compliments to the chef on NYE. We were dining with friends, my husband and I opting for the Crab Bisque followed by the duo of beef. I have to say it was one of the nicest meals I've ever had. All components were perfectly cooked and full of flavour. The beef was just melt in the mouth divine. Staff were attentive and very observant of special dietary needs. Thank you for a lovely evening..

We stayed for 3 nights from Boxing Day, were do I begin: The room was amazingly spacious and nicely decorated , the bed was very comfy, everything was clean and tidy to a very high standard. The food was exceptionally, piping hot, well presented, and very reasonably priced, as were the drinks. The staff where all so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble, all had a great sense of humour and clearly all got on with each, making it a lovely atmosphere. We will definitely be back. My only slight criticism ( and it's a personal one) is if your not a lover of salt, just mention it when ordering your food
