Wheelchair friendly. Epic food experience, Brisket Keftiko for £18 is amazing. I did not expect to eat such superior quality food next to a garden centre. I see a bright future after filling up my belly and hopefully for this place. Don’t lower your standards

Absolutely lovely. Relaxed atmosphere and wide variety of freshly cooked dishes
Rating: 5 / 5
What a lovely place to enjoy a coffee or lunch. The cafe is very tastefully furnished and totally in keeping with the building that hosts it. Rustic charm with solid wooden tables and chairs which are well spaced and not cramped. The menu is varied with the option of the day’s special. Prices are very reasonable and portion sizes are very good. There is a huge range of teas to tempt you as well as very good coffee. The food is well cooked and presented, and not to mention tasty. The staff are very friendly and helpful too, nothing is too much trouble for them. With a lift from the shop the cafe is also disabled friendly. I definitely recommend that you visit this light and airy cafe to sample its atmosphere as well as the excellent food, including homemade cakes, and the range of drinks and even ice creams.

I take all our visitors here from my youngest grandson aged 8 to my not so young friends. Everyone enjoys it even the teenagers and a bonus is phone service sketchy so they interact . Recommend using headphones for a good visit to dungeons and court. We eat at the cafe each time ,food always good but at busy times can be slow .

Lovely cafe & staff - nice selection of food. The fresh quiche (with salad & slaw) was very nice as was the dorset apple cake.

I meant to review this amazing place as soon as I left! We went in the beginning of November, I’d just missed the Halloween decorations apparently. It’s such a beautiful tea room, I hoped it was haunted and yes! Wasn’t disappointed, the lovely owner had lots of stories to share, such a sweet, wonderful lady who couldn’t have been any nicer. I wish she would adopt me, even asked if she’d consider it!? xxx Please visit and support the sweetest and most charming of places and please do pass on my love, from Tania from Bournemouth xxxxxxxxx

What a lovely and welcoming tea house in the heart of Dorchester. Whether you‘re stopping to sleep, or just for tea / breakfast / food (we did both, one year apart! 😃) , Debbie will make it a memorable experience! The house has extensive history and Debbie is well versed in it, so ask what interests you! We will stop here every time when we‘re passing nearby!

Sensational afternoon tea with amazing scones. We also really appreciated having several gluten-free options too. But best of all was the service. So friendly and chatty with plenty of history about the building and town. Can't wait to return!

What a beautiful b&b with plenty of history. Owner was very informative about the old tea room and surrounding area. She was also the most amazing host, so friendly, kind and welcoming. Made us feel like we were at home. Breakfast was amazing with a great choice of cereals, pastries, yoghurt and then cooked breakfast. The cakes and scones are a must when visiting....tasty! There is a plaque which says " come as guests leave as friends....we have definitely left as friends.

Terrific pub with a really dedicated owner/ landlord. So much effort has been made to create several different areas where one can eat and / or drink. It's a large building with a cosy front bar and a very pleasant conservatory. Upstairs is a library where food and drinks can be taken. Very smart! Various outdoor seating places and 2 verandas There are chalets to stay in, too. Food is homemade and of good quality. Good ingredients and large portions. Very reasonable prices. Good beer and other drinks. Regulars are very friendly and good fun. Good welcoming atmosphere, too. It's very clean, and all areas are well maintained as well as being interesting to be in. The landlord is really friendly and helpful. Just one sad note, it's closed on Mondays and Tuesdays out of season. The village is rural and small. However, it's very pretty and the pub is definitely worth the trip!!! Highly recommend and will stay there if we return to the area. Thanks to everyone who made us feel happy to be there!'

Me and my partner stayed here for 3 nights for my birthday and the owners made it very special and defiantly one to remember. As soon as you walk in it feels like a homely, family atmosphere and we received such a warm welcome. The food is lovely and the beds are so comfy. We will defiantly be returning as we feel we have made very good friends. Thanks again guys Dan and Sophie :)

Had a lovely stay here with my.wife. We traveled down for a 2 night stay and were made to feel so welcome by the owners. The chalets were comfortable and quiet and as huge animal lovers, the free roaming Guinea pigs were the icing on the cake. Thank you for being such great hosts.

Rating: 4.6 (1088) Price Level:
Recently visited this tudor house and gardens. The weather had not been in our favour but had stopped raining for our visit so we walked the gardens first before entering the house. A little overcast but the gardens were still beautiful for our walk round. The house is very picturess and in very good order. You can wander around at your own leisure with loads of interesting things to read and see. It was quite nice as their wernt loads of visitors at one time so you didn't feel rushed. All staff were extremely friendly and polite. The lady on reception was very polite and also we were given a warm welcome in the restaurant where we had some delightful sandwiches and perfectly made lattes. A very intresting place to stop with the added great customer service. Thankyou all.

Beautiful house and gardens and can't wait to come back in the spring/summer to see all the flowers! Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable.
Rating: 5 / 5
A delightful and well presented house and gardens. The visual and audio displays make the visit entertaining and interesting and you get drawn into the history of the house without realising. The tea room was great with good food and fast friendly service. The team throughout were professional friendly and very helpful. A great day out

Such a beautiful property and the gardens were stunning, even in October. Highly recommend a visit here. There are lots of rooms to explore in the house and make sure you watch the videos to learn about the restoration too. I didn't visit the cafe but I did buy some local foods from the shop; there's a nice little selection.

Full of history, an interesting place to visit. Worth a stop between London and Devon. Great facilities and cafe and bar. The house and garden are well setup and maintained with enough to see for several hours. Will be returning.

It Was a very good carvery and reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and the locals were kind. Good selection of real ales... partner had a gin and she said that was good. They Squeezed us in on a Remembrance Sunday afternoon. Loads of space. Thank you all for the food and drinks.

Wanted to meet a friend and halfway was the Martyrs Inn. So pleased we chose there. The food was lush, I had the bacon, brie sandwich and oh my goodness! You don't only get a sandwich, but a garnish, chips and potato salad. Stuffed!!!! Very reasonably priced. Staff were lovely and friendly, on the ball and very welcoming. Highly recommend and with out a doubt will be back.

Great lunchtime pub with very generous portions. I chose the ploughman's lunch and could barely finish it! The waitress was new in the job and very friendly and efficient. The Martyrs Tree is just down the road.

The history of this village is fascinating. In 1833, a group of six farm workers from the Dorset village of Tolpuddle were concerned that their wages had been cut, so they formed a trade union to ask for guarantees that their wages wouldn’t be cut any further. Other farm workers wanted to join their trade union, and potential members were asked to swear an oath and pay a fee to join and do the trade union was born although not without controversy. Inside the pub an information board pays homage to the six workers and the endeavours. I visited with my son and I had a ‘light bite’ fish and chips and he had a burger with all the trimmings. The location, food and service were all fabulous and well worth a visit either on your way or returning from nearby Athelhampton House. Highly recommended!

Went here on Saturday with my family. Food was delicious and well priced. The service was above and beyond, with them trying to find us a table as it was busy. Menu is great dairy free and gluten free, it's all written on there and lots of choices. I would definitely go back here.

Very nice cafe, with a lot of history (and maybe hidden secrets, perhaps). Had a pot of Lady Grey today, which was quite reasonably priced. All in all, would come back again!

A great cafe, lovely traditional British food, amazing cake and awesome service all for a fair price Their was a nice local feel with a really welcoming feel. I highly recommend The Horse With The Red Umbrella. I will be back.

I googled "All Day Breakfast in Dorchester" and this was one of the ones that came up. We arrived and were greeted by a lovely lady who asked our dogs names and sat us down. She constantly came over and fussed our dogs calling them by their names which was a lovely touch. Excellent service and the food was fab. I would highly recommend!

What a lovely little cafe on the High Street. The staff were so friendly and falling over themselves to be welcoming and accommodating, cleaning and sanitising the table best distanced from other guests. The food was freshly prepared and delicious especially the home made gluten free carrot cake. We will certainly make it a regular stop.

Incredible food. Went for my birthday and the food was absolutely amazing!! Best steak we’ve had and the portions were generous! Staff were extremely polite and friendly, we cant wait to go back !!
Rating: 5 / 5
Beautiful food had 3 courses and all were beautiful, service was well paced and not fast so you get to enjoy the dishes . Steak was more than an 8oz fillet and my wife’s seafood linguine was in her words divine. Waiters were lovely and honoured to meet one of the chefs . Thank you

Visited by chance on a wet Wednesday and so glad we chose Al Molo. Restaurant was busy but staff were excellent, very friendly and attentive and despite being rush off their feet always available when needed. Food was fabulous and when we visit Dorchester again will definitely be back.

Have a lovely lunch here with my godmother. We had pork belly and it was very tender but abit too salty. It’s ok when eat with the mashed potato, it’s balanced out. Very friendly and attentive service 👍🏻

This place is remarkable. I honestly feel like I have to leave a review because I had a private room booking for party of 7 (engagement celebration). The team took care of us extremely well and I want to give special honour to our hostess Verity, so sweet, so patient, clear in her communication- 5 stars for her. The food was gorgeous and pretty affordable in my opinion . Some portions were small but I understand that it is more on fine dining side. The only critique I would give is about some cleaning aspects in which the rooms had like old cobwebs, spider webs on the windows, just could use a deep clean.

We were on long drive from Oxfordshire to Weymouth and stopped for breakfast. Darren was so friendly and efficient. Yummy fresh baps, soft large baps! Comfortable benches, nice atmosphere. Great set up. Lots of food options and choice. Good prices. Thanks Darren. We will visit again. Sinead & Nick from Oxfordshire

We normally stop elsewhere but it was closed on our way out fossil hunting. Saw this place and thought why not try it.. so glad we did. The chap serving was very friendly and food was served fairly quickly.. the one great thing is the name of the place. Cos it's so true. Often at roadside places I find the rolls baps are either stale or dry. But not here. They were soft and amazing. We shall be stopping there everytime we pass from now on !!!! I highly recommend this place if u like this type of food
Rating: 5 / 5
Excellent food great service well worth a visit. Always stop on our way to and from Dorset. Excellent service every time and he is most certainly a people’s person and goes the extra mile even for our pooches.
Rating: 5 / 5
On the way to Charmouth for a weeks break and not having had breakfast my co-pilot noticed ooh my baps! It was safe to slow and turn so we did. Two freshly cooked bacon and cheeseburgers really hit the spot. Preferring to support local businesses this place will be added to my list of places to stop. The bun was extremely fresh, and overall, probably the tastiest drive-by burger we have ever had. If you’re heading this way stop by for a break, you will be pleased you did. Also serves tea/coffee and other delectables.

Staff were lovely, particularly the manager guy, with the glasses! Food great and not as expensive as I thought it would be. Very impressed.
Rating: 4 / 5
A very lovely dinner, mussels were good & plenty of them. Had the cafe gourmand for dessert & that was nice. Service was good though a little slow on taking our order & when we wanted to settle up. They also gave us the wrong coffee & wrong dessert but quickly rectified the error. It’s not wow but lovely traditional French cuisine.
Rating: 5 / 5
I'm a tad bias to this establishment as I love the food and atmosphere here. Although it's a chain restaurant , i still feel like an individual as a customer. The staff treat you really well and give you a personal experience. The menu pricing is at the higher end of the market but as a treat, I think it's worth it. For those on a tighter budget, they offer a set meal menu before 7pm. The morning breakfast menu is also quite good. The reason I pay a little more to eat here is because I feel satisfied with my entire dining experience. I'm not a fan of the 10% gratuity that's automatically added to your bill. I feel the customer should decide what the service is worth, not the company.
Rating: 5 / 5
We were felt to be made very welcome and special by all the staff. The menu we chose was the set vegetarian which was explained to us in great detail. We were amazed at the choice and quality of the food.
Rating: 5 / 5
Went for dinner and the food was fantastic! The staff were so lovely & attentive. They catered to my allergies (shellfish) really well, making notes for everything and making sure it was labelled with a little flag. It wasn't too busy when we went in, but as a very anxious person i quite liked that. Would recommend to anyone and looking to go back for my birthday next month!
