Charlie started at Kumon Kingswinford at the end of January 2020, he was a few months into Year 2 of primary school and was struggling to grasp reading and writing, unable to read more than simple words. Efforts at home to encourage him had hit a brick wall, Charlie was getting frustrated and upset, which led to him not wanting to try any more. We were at a loss as to how we could help him, then a friend suggested Kumon. Since starting Charlie has progressed better than we could have ever hoped for thanks to the patience and encouragement of Emma and the team. Charlie enjoys his work and has developed a love for reading. Most evenings he takes a book (or 3!) to bed and reads happily to himself. Charlie is no longer afraid to makes mistakes as he understands now that it is how you learn. Charlie has very much enjoyed the online lessons provided during lockdown and we can't wait for his school teachers to see just how much he has progessed. Charlie says: "I love Kumon so much that I think i will never want to leave. Emma has helped me so much that I think that she is a very, very, very good teacher. I like reading, its my new favourite thing to do. I like to read all the time."

Emma is a wonderful teacher - my daughter is thoroughly enjoying her sessions. I would highly recommend if you are looking for Maths and/or English tuition for your child.

Kumon and Emma have been a lifeline during home schooling as the state schools have had limited resources and provided limited assistance.
