Brilliant evening! Food incredible and staff were friendly and welcoming. Wheelchair guests was able to get in with a little help from the ramp (board) staff put out for us, fully accessible toilet (double rails for both sides of toilet). Definitely recommend everything about the place! Can't wait to return!

Really enjoyed a meal on Christmas Eve. My mum has mobility difficulties but this was no problem. The food was great. There are the usual suspects on the menu but there's also a good range of different dishes from Bangladesh that makes this place special.

Having visited Secret Spices on a few occasions now, I find myself finding an excuse to travel all the way from Dover, to Margate just to indulge in their delicious, great value food! Upon each visit, the restaurant has not been particularly busy - perhaps this is helped by me visiting during the week, rather than on the busier days such as Fridays and Saturdays. The food however has always been absolutely top notch. I've had Indian cuisine from restaurants and takeaways from around the world and I truly believe that the quality and flavour produced at this outlet really does surpass many others that I have tried, certainly, the best I have had here in the UK. The restaurant setting is classy and easy on the eye, the seating a little worn, but very comfortable, the service - very attentive, the food - DELICIOUS. I always look forward to making another visit to Secret Spices, thank you for your great Restaurant!

We have always ordered take away from this restaurant but decided to eat in for once and honestly I can’t fault it. The service was amazing, super friendly and welcoming. The food was served quickly and it may possibly be the best meal I have ever eaten in my life. If I could give more than 5 stars I would, 100% recommend!

Fantastic find, stayed in Margate for a couple of nights and needed somewhere to eat the first night and happened upon this gem! Lovely restaurant, fab and friendly staff and the food! 10/10! I had the Spaghetti alle vongole, and the spaghetti was cooked perfectly, the clams were massive and cooked perfectly too and the sauce tasted amazing! Kids meals were generous and fresh bruschetta style garlic bread . TiramisĂč was delicious and homemade. This place was so good we came back again the next night. Thank you!

We went to this place twice it is absolutely stunning. The food is so tasty and just perfect! Every small detail you would expect in an Italian is in this place. The pizza was just absolutely gorgeous and the pasta was linguine with prawns and had the exact same taste as I had tasted in Italy! Such a humble and beautiful place and the prices can be higher but clearly they are so established they do not need to do such things

The Pickled Fox

7A Market Pl, Margate CT9 1EN, UK | Bar
P: 01843 228953

Rating: 4.6 (66) Price Level:

Away from the naughty postcard sea front, the Pickled Fox is an oasis of calm and charm. Pizzas were amazing - they make them to order and had a gluten free base for one of us (they're cooked in the same oven, so coeliacs be wary) - craft beer on offer was excellent and they even had some GF peroni. Staff were lovely, too, despite being run ragged as it got busier.

I love this bar/pizzeria. It's got a simple menu with all the best things you want. The choice of house lager and wine is spot on and the pizza base is made from a proper professional dough. Location is great on a corner right in the centre of Margate Old Town where you can soak up the evening atmosphere. Weekends they do special off-menu pizzas to mix things up a bit and the staff are really friendly and professional - creating a welcoming vibe. Stand out for me was using proscuttio for ham on my pizza as the taste of it all crisped up was fantastic. Highly recommended. Click a 👍 or follow me if you like this review.

Bottega Caruso

P: 01843 297142

Rating: 4.7 (368) Price Level:

Got a lovely table in a separate room away from the noise of the bustling restaurant. Food was delightful, rustic and charming. The person working (his name escapes me now, sorry!) was so lovely and informative, about everything from the hospitality initiative they were supporting, where the ingredients are sourced, and what the dishes were. We left full to the brim, and we didn't even touch desserts. Perfect, warming, delicious meal away from the storm. đŸ¶ Dog friendly too

This is one of my favourite restaurants in Margate. Located at the heart of old town Margate. It is a small restaurant, and not quite easy to get a table, so recommended to book a table in advance. We got mussels to share, it was cooked in a creamy tomato sauce. And I got spaghetti with bream topped with breadcrumbs. Food was delicious and the atmosphere was so nice.Pasta is freshly made and they have a different menu each day. Highly recommend to anyone who loves Italian food.

I went to this cafe because it was featured in Interior Designer's Masters. I was in town so I decided to give it a go. The food was good but not exceptional. It was not busy at all (I went on a Friday afternoon). The cafe decoration is so beautiful! So that's why I gave 5 for atmosphere.

What a great place, food and service were spot on. Little change to my meal but just improved it when something was running low. Had a couple of starters, small dishes, and a side all out at once, tapas style all tasted amazing. Highly recommend.

The stand out experience was definitely the Ribs. It was one of the best I've tasted. One of the most expensive on the menu at ÂŁ17.50 but well worth it in today's prices. Came with beautiful crispy chips, slaw and corn on the cob. We came I early and had to do with a small table for two, we asked to move but we're told all tables were booked. However, they soon came back offering to move us to a larger table that was free. A pint was actually cheaper than the pubs around the area. Would definitely come back on my next trip to Margate.

SĂšte

238 Northdown Rd, Cliftonville, Margate CT9 2QD, UK | Restaurant
P: 01843 606007

Rating: 4.6 (88) Price Level:

The best thing on the menu – or, indeed, perhaps on any menu I’ll eat this year, and it’s only March – is Stock’s chicken schnitzel, there in honour of Ribbe’s heritage. The tender schnitzel, robed in crunchy breadcrumbs, is served with a whopping quenelle of CafĂ© de Paris butter, though Stock’s version is like a steroid-riddled curry sauce mated with a buttercream ganache.

OUTSTANDING! We were on our mini moon and had been eating in all the best places from Margate to Broadstairs to Whitstable, and Sete is the standout winner for us! We personally thought it was incredible value for this level of food. The staff were wonderful and even treated us to a glass of bubbles to celebrate our big day, and the restaurant has a great ambience and charming setting. Hands down the best lemon sole I have ever eaten, cooked to perfection and it just melted in the mouth. Many places are charging these prices but are not reaching this level of food so for us it was a real find. Between the two of us we greedily ordered the whipped cods roe vol-au-vents, which were buttery and crisp, the whipped cods roe really worked well as the filling. We also shared the duck with green beans and shallots, the lemon sole in butter sauce which was to die for, the chicken supreme with aioli was super delicious, and the lobster rice was incredible so we ordered another. It was all outstanding! Hats off to the chef for achieving this very high level of cookery in such a small kitchen. We will be regulars!

We went for the chicken schnitzel after reading Grace Dent's review. It was indeed the highlight, with the tempura salsify a close second, but everything was delicious (including the drinks of course). A lovely, cozy bistro with truly exceptional service (I've never had a dropped fork replaced so quickly). We look forward to going back the next time we're in Margate.

This is a proper greasy spoon with faded formica tables and vinyl chairs. The food was really good and arrived quickly. I had a big breakfast but want to try their mega breakfast at some point. It's ÂŁ28 and if you finish it you end up on the wall of fame. If you finish it in under 20 minutes it's free. Staff were friendly and the place was clean. It just had a cool vibe too. Almost like a timewarp to when cafes were actually cafes and not weird hipster places with avocado toast. I'd recommend this place to friends and family.
